Love and miracles was about answered prayer because it was in the flow of God’s love to us and our love towards one another. John wrote ‘we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we … do those things that are pleasing in His sight. And … that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another’. (1John 3:20) There were other instances of prayer that Jesus encouraged the disciples to be confident about being answered, because they were prayers that harmonised with God’s ‘heart’s desire’ for the GOOD LIFE of Jesus given through the goodness of the Father to his own children. That GOOD LIFE is His inner goodness – in the realm of the spirit. We are encouraged to pray confidently for others that way. This is faith that works through love.  John encouraged that this boundless confidence was because it was the prayer of love and faith for others and not just for self. WHAT ABOUT PRAYER FOR SELF? Personal prayer for ourselves does not require that we love

WHERE DO ANSWERED PRAYERS AND MIRACLES COME FROM? Living in the land of God’s love means that at any one given moment a creative miracle is happening in your world. Living in the land of conflict and judgment will starve your world of miracles. It blinds us to love and interrupts the flow of love – it deflects the miracle of God's love at work.  1John 3.11 For ‘this’ is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. (Luke 10:27 ’ and ‘ your neighbor as yourself). One way of stopping the flow of love is the ‘as Yourself’ problem. TRANSCENDENT LOVE 1John 3:19 And by ‘this’ we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. For if our heart condemns (shames blames and accuses) us, God transcends (WBC) our heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn (shame blame and accuse) us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

1John 1:5 This, in essence, is the message we heard from Christ and are passing on to you: God is light, pure light; there's not a trace of darkness in him John 1:4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it  (‘take it to itself ’- Phil 3:12) 9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. The human spirit wants to own its own territory (which belongs to God) and keep it separate from Him.  (1 Corinthians 6:19) So we must take to ourselves our Oneness with Him and we must own that. Our spirit feeds its truth to our soul and our soul expresses that, whether from our human spirit with its mix of acquired truth and experience, or with our spirit joined by faith to God’s Spirit and infused with his love and compassion. Our body feeds its sense experiences to our soul and our soul expresses them. (Seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and feeling etc.). Proverbs 17:22  Our spirit joined by faith to God’s Spirit bestows well-being to its soul (and body) in the embrace of God’s love. It can even rise above affliction to say ‘It is well with my soul’. FAIR OR UNFAIR The human spirit seeks to establish its own soul’s well being by gaining self-advantage and self-satisfaction and by contesting unfairness against itself. That is not all bad but it can lead to an overemphasis on self-sufficiency. The human spirit would grit its teeth on the following Scripture; John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease. The first task is to be ‘held on to’ in the embrace of his love. That becomes our confinement until it fills and expands our heart. Then love overflows out to others. Love wants to flow. It is our decision to either prevent or release the flow of love. Pathway of Peace - Water There is a power of refreshing presence that satisfies our soul in times of emotional struggle. This is not the fiery furnace we spoke about last week, of the fiery trials of faith through ‘necessary’ suffering. When we can SEE with the right kind of seeing, we can begin to HEAR with the right kind of hearing. Then we can DO with the right kind of doing. Hear, and your soul shall live; There is a hearing and a hearing. One kind goes in one ear and out the other, it has no ground to find root and it creates no understanding. (Mark 4:12 ‘ Seeing they may see and not perceive and hearing they may hear and not understand), Another kind of hearing leads to doing. It comes to an inclined ear, prepared to receive. It changes your will without willpower but with grace.

Hebrews2:6 ‘What is man that you pay so much attention to him, or the Son of Man (Jesus), that you would bewith him and look out for him?’7. You created him of a lower spiritual order than angels, and yet now you have given him a crown of glory and honor and placed him in supreme authority over everything that is yours. 8. THE FIERY FURNACE  - Seven times hotter - end time significance. Daniel 3:23 And these three men, ShadrachMeshach, and Abed-Nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “ True, O king.”  Look!” he answered, “ I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God”… and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power; the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them. Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, “ Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed- Nego, who sent His Angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God!

There are two kinds of suffering we experience in this life; there is necessary suffering, and unnecessary suffering. John16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have Suffering (tribulation); - but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world (the voice of darkness).” Necessary Suffering: This is life itself pushing you to your limits - the inescapable challenge of life situations in this world, that threaten our health, safety, and security, face us with loss and grief, rob us of satisfaction or simply irritate our senses and weary our soul, these unstable outward realities. Jesus says that peace is to be found in the midst of this necessary suffering. He also says that joy can be found there – ‘be of good cheer’. This comes from the consciousness of His presence always with us in every situation. This is our peace, our oneness with him. Luke 14:33 So therefore, any one of you who is not willing to cut ties from anything (forsake – apotassomar – separate from – Adieu! – place in God’s hands ) that gets in the way of knowing me cannot learn from me. This is the setting of the boats free from their moorings to discover (and uncover) the river of life. The Pathway involves times of setting oneself apart to practice moving from the head to the heart, and frequent and constant ‘turning from and turning to’ in the midst of our responses – from problems and anxiety  - to the conscious awareness of the presence of God. This is disciplined learning. Think of what would exist in your heart if your head held no problems for you - Needs are not problems. Problems are unmet needs with negative emotional attachments.   Imagine that you have nothing to worry about or solve. You are simply obeying one of the most frequently given and mostly ignored commandments of Jesus and the apostles in the New Testament – ‘Be anxious for nothing’ - spoken 19 times in th
