Priests, deacons, and lay volunteers dressed up in teams of "Magi" and visited more than 70 homes throughout the City of Buffalo on January 6, providing blessings of houses to mark the Feast of the Epiphany, which commemorates the visitation of the Christ Child by the Three Wise Men. The traveling blessings were arranged by Sts. Columba-Brigid Parish in Buffalo.

Ray Geska, a Buffalo-area Catholic, began attending weekday Masses at different churches beyond his hone parish in late summer 2023. He's now on a quest to attend a Mass at every church within the Diocese of Buffalo. And as of New Year's Day 2024, he's more than halfway through the list.

To mark the month in Buffalo, Western New York Catholic Audio organized a roundtable discussion to be released as a podcast. Panelists included host Mary Craig, Marilyn Ward, Deacon Ronald Walker, and Sister Roberta Fulton, the latter of whom directs the Diocese of Buffalo’s Office of Cultural Diversity. They discussed their experiences growing up as Black Catholics, the lack of African-American saints (though there are some candidates), and the energy brought back from the National Black Catholic Congress held this past July in Maryland. Buffalo is home to a diverse population which includes recent immigrants from around the world, including many African nations. On Sunday, November 5, 2023, the Diocese of Buffalo's Office of Cultural Diversity hosted an African Thanksgiving Mass, where the diversity of local Catholics was celebrated.

It was one year ago (Oct. 25, 2022) that the Diocese of Buffalo and New York State Attorney General announced a settlement in regards to the diocesan handling of past abuse claims.
