AirBnB Host Believes New Rules Will Have Detrimental Effect On Clare Tourism

Following the Government's move to designate the full country a rent pressure zone, short term lets will now be required to apply for special planning permission to continue to operate as normal. It will leave thousands of Airbnbs in rural areas operating illegally this weekend, while in April cabinet signed of on a law that will eventually restrict short-term lets in areas where the population is above 10,000. Ennis AirBnB Host Barry O'Driscoll has been telling Clare FM's Daragh Dolan that tourism here cannot survive with short-term lets.

Housing Protest Set To Take Place This Weekend Amid Rapidly Escalating Housing Crisis

40% Of Clare Farms Non-Compliant With Good Agricultural Practice Regulations In Last Year
20/06/2025 Duración: 06min40% of tested Clare farms were non-compliant with Good Agricultural Practice regulations in the last year. 112 such inspections aimed at protecting water bodies have taken place in this county in the past twelve months, with 37 resulting in a minor non-compliance and 7 resulting in a significant breach. According to the EPA, the main issues identified in Clare included excessive slurry spreading, land poaching and seepage of silage effluent. Clare IFA Chair and Feakle farmer Stephen Walsh says farmers must control their controllables.

"Kind Catherine Tobin Left Lasting Impression On Everyone"
20/06/2025 Duración: 04minTributes are being paid to a stalwart of Clare camogie who was said to have left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Catherine Tobin from Ennis who dedicated years to coaching teams at the Banner Camogie Club and Clare Camogie passed away peacefully this week at Milford Hospice. She also spent 20 years as a Special Needs Assistant at St. Joseph's Secondary School Tulla, which has described her as having a rare gift for connecting with others and making every student feel seen, supported and encouraged. Catherine is survived by her daughter Clara, her parents, siblings and wide circle of friends, and, will be laid to rest today following a funeral mass in Ennis Cathedral at 11am. Clare Camogie PRO Bríd McNamara says she was a simply incredible individual.
