Simeon declares that He has seen the Messiah, but also that Mary's soul will be pierced. When does this happen? Join us as we celebrate the fourth Sunday of advent.

As we enter the final section of John, we see familiar events, but presented in a different way. Jesus is arrested in the Garden, but before the soldiers take Him, not only does He display His glory, but He also accepts His death willing. Are we willing to accept the will of our Heavenly Father?

As we continue to look at the Biblical songs about Jesus' birth, we now turn to the Angels. As the shepherds were keeping watch, and Angel appeared to them to announce that a Savior has been born. In fact, God Himself has come to rescue us from sin.

As Jesus finishes His prayer, He prays for you and I, His future followers. Jesus doesn't pray for them to be unified with each other, referring to church unity, but He prays that we may be one with Him. We may remain faithful to Him and follow Him until we take our final breath on this earth. Are you one with God?

As we seek to understand that 1st Christmas, we now turn to Matthew 2 and the wise men. When did they come? Who were these men that came from the east and why did they give Jesus those three gifts?

Why do we need God in our lives? Zechariah answers this question as we prepare our hearts for the 2nd week of advent.

Jesus continues His prayer in John 17. First, Jesus prays for Himself. Secondly, Jesus prays for His disciples, that God could keep them. Keep them faithful to Him and keep them from the evil one.

As we think about Christmas and the traditional nativity scene, is that really what Jesus' birth was like? Join us as we look at Luke 2 and Matthew 2 as we try to get a picture of what really happened at Jesus' birth.

As we prepare our hearts for Christmas we will be looking at 4 different songs dealing with Jesus' birth. The first song is "Mary's Song" where she answers the question "who is God?"

Jesus has finished His final instructions to His disciples and prays to His Father. In Jesus' prayer He prays for three people. First He prays for Himself, then He prays for His disciples and finally He prays for us. As Jesus prays for Himself, He asks that He maybe glorified so that God the Father is glorified. As followers of Jesus, this should be our prayer as well. May my life bring praise and honor to God.

As we look at the entire book and see the timeline of how all these events will fit together in the final days. May we look forward to anticipation of when we will see Jesus. As Jesus wraps up His time with His disciples, He again tells them that He is leaving, but in a short time, He will see them again. As Jesus prepares His disciples for His departure, we reminds them to stand firm because He has overcome the world. Are we standing firm? Are we experiencing peace in our lives? Is our trust in Jesus?

As John concludes his visions of what is to come, he cries out "Come, Lord Jesus." As we look at this final chapter of Revelation, may our hearts also cry out, "Come, Lord Jesus."

Jesus promises His disciples that He will send another helper to take His place. Who is this helper? What will He do in our lives as followers of Jesus and in unbeliever's lives. Jesus explains further the Holy Spirit's role.

When God recreates this world, what will it be like? The old sinful cursed world has passed away and believers get to live on a new earth where there is no curse and will be able to dwell with God forever and ever.

As Jesus prepares His disciples for His departure, He prepares them for what will happen to them when He leaves. Jesus' early followers as well as Jesus' followers today have to ask ourselves the same question of "Who are we trying to please?" Do we live to please men, or do we live to please God?

God recreates the world like it was in the garden of Eden. What will this new world be like?

As we stay connected to Jesus, will our lives be easy? As Jesus sends out his disciples, He tells them to be prepared for the world to hate and persecute you. Jesus says when they do this to you, understand that they are just treating you as they treated me. We need to pray for courage and boldness to stand firm as we follow Jesus.

Nonbelievers get resurrected for judgment at the great white throne. Believers inherit the new heavens and the new earth. What will this look like? The handout talking about "Armageddon" can be found at www.coalportcmachurch.org/sermonaudio.

How are we to live this Christian life? How can we keep Jesus' commands? On our own, we cannot do it. We need to remain connected to Jesus at all times, then we will be able to produce fruit that is pleasing to our Heavenly Father.
