In which we conclude our study on Moses' first speech, where Israel reflected on the past 38 years of wilderness wanderings. Our study ended with the appointment of cities of refuge for those who commit manslaughter. One consistent theme we see is God's faithfulness to His covenant promises.

All believers are sons and heirs of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

The purpose of the Law is to reveal sin and point man to Christ. The Law cannot make man right with God. Only through the gift of faith can man be justified in the eyes of God.

Justification by faith proves that we should continue to live by faith.

Deuteronomy Chapters 3-4

Justification by Faith leaves no room for hypocrisy or legalism.

In this section of Deuteronomy, Moses recalls Israel's rebellion against Yahweh and their subsequent punishment of 38 years of wilderness wanderings. Then, Moses recalls the new generation passing through the nations and defeating Sihon, King of Heshbon, therefore conquesting their territory.
