During this series, we aim to have an authentic, alive connection with our Creator; for some, that means withdrawing and removing distractions. Reflection and meditation can be rewarding ways to sense the nearness of God. And even if that doesn't describe you, learning to incorporate this practice will deepen your connection with Him. 

One way that many people connect with God is by being outdoors. Whether you love nature or not, you’ve probably appreciated a sunrise or been overwhelmed by the size of His creation. As we’ll continue to explore in the series, not everyone experiences God in the same way, and being outside is just one of the ways. Whether this describes you or not, you’ll find helpful perspectives on seeing and hearing God outside.

Prayer is a living conversation with a mighty God. It's more than praying for our meals or calling out to God when we're in need; it's about communion with our Creator. Just like the disciples who yearned to learn the art of prayer, we must also embrace it as a learned practice. When you look at the acts of the disciples, we see that they encountered the Holy Spirit in profound and remarkable ways. But it required practicing the habit of prayer. The same is true for us. If we want to know and experience God intimately, we must embark on the journey of learning to pray.

God has done and continues to do, amazing things in and through Northshore Community Church. In the service, we pause to celebrate and show our gratitude for how lives are being transformed and changed in every area of this church and around the world. And as we look to the future, we anticipate the greater things God will do.

We live in a world that is broken and full of pain. Thankfully, God is at work to restore and renew creation to wholeness. Through the Holy Spirit, God invites every follower of Jesus to be a part of the mission to transform the world and lead people to say yes to Jesus. 

A regular-sized domino can knock over a domino as tall as the Empire State Building in under 30 dominos. That’s the power of a single leap of faith, and that’s the impact we can have. It can be challenging to lead people to say Yes to Jesus, but Jesus only needs one small act of faith. No matter how much we can give, God can multiply it.

Most of us have been in situations that seem impossible. We may have faced something out of our control and wondered, "Where is God" or "How will we get through." As we continue our series called Greater Things, we find hope in these truths, God is present, and nothing is too hard for Him.

Jesus sacrificed for us, giving His life so we could live. Sacrifice is the way of the kingdom. It's how God operates, and it's how He calls us to live. But sacrifice isn't meant to be a burden or a call to a miserable life. As we discover in this message, Kingdom living brings abundant joy. And that joy comes from sacrifice.

When we reach our limit and can’t muster the strength to change, society tells us that we don’t need to change. But Jesus has a different way. That moment when you can’t find your way forward when there’s no way out, Jesus steps in. And that’s good news!

We often read about the wilderness as a place of encounter with God, as we see for both Elijah and Jesus. That place of solitude can serve as an invitation for us to seek out similar experiences during the Lenten season. We can use this time for reflection, transformation, and personal growth as we intentionally make space to connect with God, even during life's challenges and struggles.

What do we do when we face emotional pain? We know how to diagnose a cold or a broken arm, but the pain in our souls is internal and harder to pinpoint. The ambiguity can leave us feeling hopeless and lost. However, God's plan is to give this pain a purpose and that we would find healing through serving others. The miracle is that God can turn one's pain around and use it for good.
