Stoke City 1-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report
21/08/2021 Duración: 10min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Another defeat but worst of all, another non-performance where the Reds barely threatened the Stoke goal. Josh Tymon's goal settled the match and the Forest fans continued to make their voices heard as the pressure piles on Chris Hughton. Ben Rowley from The YYY Files joins us to offer the home fans' perspective, and it doesn't reflect well. Afterwards, I was invited to appear on Talksport2's Game Day Phone-In and shared some of my thoughts. Nottingham Forest 1-2 Blackburn Rovers: The 1865 Match Report (extended edition)
19/08/2021 Duración: 26min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. An extended match report as Forest suffered their third consecutive 2-1 league defeat, in another match marred by poor defending from set pieces, and a lack of cutting edge up front. What was most interesting was that the grumbles on social media became very real, as fans openly questioned Chris Hughton's tactics, selection and substitutions, and even (astonishingly) chanted for former gaffer Sabri Lamouchi. In this special episode, Steven Toplis reviews the action and has an in-depth conversation with Ryan Hildred from Rovers Chat about how Rovers won the game, and just as importantly, how Forest "beat themselves". Ryan is surprised to hear the hostility towards Chris Hughton, but he was also amazed at how poor Forest were. Then Baz gives us an overview of why it just isn't working for Hughton at Forest, and whether there is a comparison with Jose Mourinho's career. Forest 1-2 Bournemouth: The 1865 Match Report
15/08/2021 Duración: 13min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. After the kids did us proud against Bradford in the League Cup, it was back down to earth with a bang today as ten-man Bournemouth held out to inflict a 2-1 defeat on the Reds. Despite some promising moments, if the truth be told. Forest did not do enough to get back into this match and Chris Hughton has taken some criticism for not being offensive enough with his subs. Tom Newton reports from the Forest perspective, and we also hear from Jonathan Sparkes from the Cherries Red Army channel, with an away fans' view. Like what you hear? Nottingham Forest 2-1 Bradford City: The 1865 Match Report
12/08/2021 Duración: 05min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. THE PORTUGUESE PRINCE IS BACK! Well, that was the headline. Of course, it was *only* Bradford, but Forest fans will have taken real heart from the battling qualities, skill and guile shown by the young Reds in a match that was still a step up from what most of them will have experienced. Particular plaudits go to Fin Back and man of the match Tyrese Fornah, who was wonderfully humble in his post-match interview. The Maradona of the Midlands reports on a pleasing night as fans returned to the City Ground, and the Reds overcame injuries and nine minutes of stoppage time to hold out. Did we mention that Joao Carvalho scored twice? Like what you hear? Subscribe via your podcast provider, and please leave a review, as it helps other Forest supporters find our content. Coventry City 2-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report
09/08/2021 Duración: 13min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. A disappointing start to the season as Coventry took the three points with a last gap goal. After a decent first 45 minutes, the Reds ran out of steam and paid the price for poor defending as they conceded first an equaliser, then a stoppage-time winner to a Coventry side buoyed on by their home fans. Tom Newton reports from the Coventry Building Society Arena, and then we are joined by Joey from Coventry podcast the Nii Lamptey Show, to dissect the action, and how much of a difference it made to have fans back in the ground. 01/08/2021 Duración: 06min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. We begin our pre-season countdown by looking back at some of our favourite memories of following Forest through the years. These aren't necessarily great goals or great matches - just something that has stuck in our minds. In the last episode of the current run, the Maradona of the Midlands looks back at one of the great opening day performances by a young Reds team, as Paul Hart took over at the City Ground and the Reds played total football (and Marlon Harewood decked the linesman). 1865 Magic Moments Part 5: Stuart Pearce
31/07/2021 Duración: 04min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. We begin our pre-season countdown by looking back at some of our favourite memories of following Forest through the years. These aren't necessarily great goals or great matches - just something that has stuck in our minds. Today Jeremy thinks back to an important moment in his formative years - a rare trip to the City Ground, sitting in the away end, when Forest and England skipper Stuart Pearce took matters into his own hands and scored a diving header to liven up an uninspiring match against lower-league Hereford United. 30/07/2021 Duración: 07min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. We begin our pre-season countdown by looking back at some of our favourite memories of following Forest through the years. These aren't necessarily great goals or great matches - just something that has stuck in our minds. Astonishingly, we have another magic moment from our days in League One; Steven Toplis reviews a miserable evening at Oldham as Forest conceded five goals and two red cards, but the Forest fans proved that there ain't no party like a Reds club party. If nothing else, it shows that things could be a lot worse... Like what you hear? Subscribe via your podcast provider, and please leave a review, as it helps other Forest supporters find our content. 1865 Magic Moments Part 3: Gino Padula (yes, really)
29/07/2021 Duración: 04min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. We begin our pre-season countdown by looking back at some of our favourite memories of following Forest through the years. These aren't necessarily great goals or great matches - just something that has stuck in our minds. Today, Tom Newton thinks back to unhappy days under Gary Megson; a woeful Forest team had been relegated, and Megson's attempts to rebuild were nothing short of disastrous - but maligned full-back managed to provide a moment of joy for the away fans at Oakwell. 28/07/2021 Duración: 04min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. We begin our pre-season countdown by looking back at some of our favourite memories of following Forest through the years. These aren't necessarily great goals or great matches - just something that has stuck in our minds. In this episode, we look back at a historic moment on a hungover New Year's Day in 1992. A match where more or less nothing happened, and Forest fans were leaving the ground, but then Sir Desmond Sinclair Walker scored his one and only goal in professional football. Like what you hear? We begin our pre-season countdown by looking back at some of our favourite memories of following Forest through the years. These aren't necessarily great goals or great matches - just something that has stuck in our minds. To kick off, Baz remembers a memorable derby day that started with a belter by Radi Majewski and ended with a fight over a corner flag - but it was something that Billy Davies did that sticks in his mind. Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report
02/05/2021 Duración: 14minThe 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Saturday saw Forest travel to Hillsborough to take on relegation-threatened Sheffield Wednesday. With plenty at stake for the hosts, it was Forest who came closets to scoring, as Lewis Grabban saw his penalty saved by Kieren Westwood in first half injury time. Wednesday created chances in the second and forced a couple of saves from Brice Samba, but in truth neither team looked like carving out big goalscoring opportunities as the match finished goalless. The point takes Wednesday's survival battle into a final day showdown against Derby County, while Forest have their last game of the season at home to Preston to look forward to. We speak to Jamie from Sheffield Wednesday podcast Wednesday Til I Die about the match, the performances of the two sides and how Wednesday will get on their crunch clash next weekend. Nottingham Forest 1-1 Stoke City: The 1865 Match Report
25/04/2021 Duración: 11minThe 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. The last time Forest hosted Stoke at The City Ground, the hosts saw their play-off hopes dashed by the Potters amid a dramatic evening on Trentside. This time, the match wasn't quite so eventful but Chris Hughton's side did enough to earn a draw and with it, secure Championship safety for next season. After Rabbi Matondo had put Stoke ahead in the first half, Lewis Grabban made up for an earlier miss by netting five minutes into the second period, latching on to a poor piece of defending to poke the ball home. Forest saw more of the ball and edged the game in chances created but had to settle for a point. We speak to Ben Rowley from Stoke podcast The YYY-Files about the game, the performances of Forest and Stoke, their attacking shortfalls and look at where the sides can take stock of this campaign and improve next season. Birmingham City 1-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report
22/04/2021 Duración: 13minThe 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Forest were awful. Let's just get that out of the way. If Chris Hughton was annoyed on Saturday, he was fuming last night. Lee Bowyer was also fuming as Birmingham conceded a late late penalty, coolly and ably converted by Lewis Grabban, to rescue a barely-deserved point. We hear from Tom Newton with his thoughts on the match from a Red perspective, and are joined by Matthew Elliott from the We Are Birmingham podcast with his thoughts on the penalty, the referee, and Chris Hughton's Forest. Nottingham Forest 0-2 Huddersfield Town: The 1865 Match Report
18/04/2021 Duración: 06minThe 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Forest made a bright start in this one, but failed to take advantage of a nervy-looking Huddersfield defence, and some of us had a feeling how things would go after that. The Reds then helped the Terriers, as James Garner's loose pass sent Aaron Rowe through on goal, and Anthony Knockaert also gave the ball away cheaply, allowing Juninho Bacuna to take a run and shot which powered past Brice Samba. Baz reports on this match, which saw Chris Hughton publicly admonish his players afterwards, warning that Forest are not yet safe from the drop. Like what you hear?
