It's about some demons who wreak havoc in a movie theater and turn the people they kill into demons too in an increasingly madcap manner that is as over-the-top as it is incredibly satisfying. If you're into this sort of thing, anyway.

Both of us read the book this film was based on, so it added another dimension to our discussion about this killer plant thriller in the wilds of Central America.

You also get the screen debut of Daphne Zuniga of "Spaceballs" fame, one of Hollywood's most prolific makeup designers AND one of its most prolific film composers. So as always, we try to appreciate it for what it is, without shying away from laughing at its ineptitude.

This movie adaptation takes the imagery from the book's nightmarish illustrations, and the urban legend tales that spooked us out so much as kids, and combines them into a "kids' horror film" that manages to be the dark, twisted, no-holds-barred kids' horror film that we have often lamented from our childhoods. A pleasant surprise and a fun film to talk about.

We picked this movie because he had such a prominent role. Have a look at yet another Stephen King adaptation and see how it stacks up to the book.

To be fair, Kirk Douglas is a legend. And so is Brian De Palma, the director. And so is John Williams, the composer. Actually, this film had a lot going for it, but as De Palma's follow-up to Carrie, we were left wanting.

We really wanted to fall in love with Making Contact (originally titled Joey), but it just didn't make any damn sense. Still, the fantastic visuals, cinematography and ambition previews good things to come later.

It turned out to be much scarier than we remembered, making it a perfect selection to continue our month of family-friendly horror films. And the remake is on the way, so we'll see how it measures up to the original.

What starts out as a simple ghost story takes a sharp and somewhat baffling turn. But what we can say about The Watcher In The Woods is that it's definitely unique and controversial - and Bettie Davis' role as Mrs. Aylwood is iconic.

A bunch of kids are humanity's last hope to close the gates of hell, which they have inadvertently opened, thanks to an unlikely string of coincidences. Have a listen to see if it lives up to Craig's memories!

Sure, it's a bunch of girls in a sorority house getting stalked by a killer. But this incredible combination of Black Christmas, Halloween, Friday the 13th, and I Know What You Did Last Summer comes wrapped in a definite Hitchcockian vibe, which just elevates this material to something greater than the sum of its parts.
