  • Jack Holt, chief of new media operations at the Pentagon

    07/05/2007 Duración: 10min

One thing about the milblog conference was how far the impact of milbloggers has reached. The conference opened with a videotaped message from President Bush to the bloggers, then Admiral Mark Fox joined live from Baghdad for a Q&A session. I had the pleasure of spending considerable time with Jack Holt, chief of new media operations at the Pentagon was also at the conference for two days, meeting with and listening to what the milblogging community had to say about the new regulations, working with Public Affairs Officers and the future of the Information War. • GlobalSecuirty.org's John Pike

    07/05/2007 Duración: 05min

From the 2007 Milblog Conference... John Pike, Director of GlobalSecurity.org John Pike is a regular guest on all the networks for his analysis and commentary on defense, space and intelligence policy. He provided great insight into the Al Qaeda victory narrative and noted how the U.S. does not have a coherent narrative itself. He also noted, as did Bill Roggio, that Iraq is the central front in the war on terror. Again, like Roggio, he talked about a Long War. What is Pundit Review Radio? • A conversation on The Long War with Bill Roggio

    07/05/2007 Duración: 11min

A conversation on The Long War with Bill Roggio Bill Roggio is one of the people I really was looking forward to meeting at the Milblog Conference. We've interviewed him from Iraq and Afghanistan and obviously have never met him. He was excellent on the first panel of the day which covered embedded reporting from the front lines and he stayed that way for our discussion on The Long War. What is Pundit Review Radio? • Meet Josh Bleillx

    06/05/2007 Duración: 04min

Meeting Josh Bleillx from Greenfield Indiana was simply amazing. This young man joined the military at age 27, six years after graduating from Purdue University and starting his career. He wanted to do something more and he joined the military in 2004 knowing full well that he would be heading off to combat. Josh lost both legs at the knee in an IED explosion in Iraq about six months ago and was working hard in the physical therapy area when I met up with him. He had an infectious smile and was so upbeat about his future. The best word to describe him is inspirational. He is an incredibly impressive man. During the interview, Josh brought up Soldiers Angels and how much they do for the soldiers at Walter Reed. What is Pundit Review Radio? Pundit Review Radio is where the old media meets the new. 06/05/2007 Duración: 05min

I met Captain Eivind Forseth of the 82nd Airborne in the occupational therapy area at Walter Reed where he was teaching some soldiers fly-tying. As an avid fisherman, Eivind understands the mental and physical benefits of fly-tying and fishing. He has started an organization called Project Healing Waters which "salutes all of our brave armed forces, and strives to serve those who have come home wounded and aid in their physical and emotional recovery by introducing or rebuilding the skills of fly fishing and fly tying." Today he is the President of Cydecor and now, ten years following his accident, is servicing the Department of the Navy as a federal contractor. 18/04/2007 Duración: 07min

Matthew Currier Burden from Blackfive joined us once again for another special edition of Someone You Should Know. This week he told us the story of Air Force Maj. Kimberly Campbell, an incredibly brave and skilled pilot of an A-10 Warthog. Kimberly’s Distinguished Flying Cross citation reads in part, "Captain Campbell’s aviation prowess and coolness under pressure directly contributed to the successful completion of the critical mission and recovery of a valuable combat aircraft. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Captain Campbell reflect great credit upon herself and the United States Air Force." What is Pundit Review Radio? • Retired Lt. Col. Ralph Peters on Pundit Review Radio

    02/04/2007 Duración: 31min

What’s the difference between Retired Lt. Col. Ralph Peters and Iran? Ralph Peters takes no prisoners! It was great to welcome back Ralph Peters to Pundit Review Radio. He brought his A-game last night. Here is an overview of some of the things he got off his chest: On the Democrats: “Nancy Pelosi is so far above her weight class it’s just pathetic.” She is not qualified to be Speaker of the House at times like these…she seems like a kindergarten teacher on the first day of class.” “The Democrats are advocating surrender” “Why should the enemy in Iraq quit now when the Democrats are promising them victory?” “They gave Petraeus the keys to the car but won’t give him money for the gasoline” “Barack is pretty arrogant for wanting to be president without even serving a full term in the Senate.” On the Republicans: “We are in a fight for our lives and we have national leaders who have never had a bloody nose.” “The chronicle of wasted chances is truly tragic.” “They

  • Someone You Should Know: John Gonzalves

    01/04/2007 Duración: 06min

In 2004, after watching a news report of a severely injured service member who had returned from Iraq, John Gonsalves thought to himself "what now, what happens to this person now?". He searched for an organization that he assumed was already in place where he could donate his building expertise for a few weeks. When he found out that none existed, he quit his contractor job and started Homes for Our Troops. Homes for Our Troops builds specially adapted homes for our most severely injured service members. To date, they have built 30 homes, and have pledged to build another thirty. Last evening I was privileged to attended the 1st Annual Homes for Our Troops Dinner / Auction Benefit. I was truly inspired by the event and the one that that I took awat was how much of an impact one person can have on the lives of others. John Gonzalves, founder of Homes For Our Troops is definitely Someone You Should Know. To learn more about this amazing group, contact them at: Mailing Address: Homes For Our Troops 37 Main

  • Someone You Should Know: Corporal David Emery Jr.

    01/04/2007 Duración: 06min

Tonight we have a unique edition of Someone You Should Know. Matt Currier Burden, author of Blog of War and proprietor of the #1 milblog Blackfive sent out an urgent message today asking us to pray for Corporal David Emery Jr. As Matt said, sometimes the best and only thing we can do is Spiritual Warfare. On February 7th, 2007, DJ was at a checkpoint near a crowded place when a terrorist walked up to the Marines. DJ’s Battalion Sergeant Major, Joseph Ellis (a recon Marine of 23 years), suspected that a bomber was approaching and put himself between the bomber and his Marines. "The bomber quickly detonated himself, instantly killing Sergeant Major Ellis. The Sergeant Major’s sacrifice absorbed enough of the blast to barely keep DJ from being killed. DJ was hit hard in his abdomen - an artery was cut causing kidney failure - both legs and one arm were shattered, and, in fact, his wounds were so severe that doctors didn’t think that he’d make it. They had him on a respirator, fighting infection, fever,

  • Former PLO terrorist Walid Shoebat on Pundit Review Radio

    26/03/2007 Duración: 44min

We had the distinct pleasure of spending an entire hour with Walid Shoebat on Pundit Review Radio. Mr. Shoebat is a former PLO terrorist who is now speaking out against radical Islam. He is one of the most courageous men in the world. All of us who are looking for answers in this long war need to listen to men like Walid Shoebat. He had many interesting things to say, especially when it comes to the way we are approaching the war on terror. His book is titled Why We Want To Kill You: The Jihadist Mindset and How to Defeat It This was a truly fascinating hour, and we barely scratched the surface. We will have him back on the show in the very near future. The interview is also available for download at iTunes and Podcast Alley by searching for the Pundit Review Radio Podcast. • Congressional Candidate Kieran Lalor on Pundit Review Radio

    25/03/2007 Duración: 18min

It was our pleasure to interview Mr. Kieran Lalor, a candidate for congress in the 19th congressional district in upstate New York. Kieran’s life has long been one of service to his community and his country. A Marine, veteran of the Iraq war, Kieran is a true, blue American hero and a Reagan Republican trying to unseat a one-term, ultra left-wing carpetbagger named John Hall. There is something wrong about a guy supported by Jane Bleeping Fonda representing the district where West Point is. Kieran Lalor is going to change that. • Triple Cross Author Peter Lance on Pundit Review Radio

    19/03/2007 Duración: 41min

Last night on Pundit Review Radio we spoke to Emmy awards winning investigative journalist Peter Lance about his fascinating book Triple Cross: How bin Laden's Master Spy Penetrated the CIA, the Green Berets, and the FBI--and Why Patrick Fitzgerald Failed to Stop Him. This book is an amazing, incredibly well-researched and compelling account of the dysfunction within our intelligence agencies that allowed Al Qaeda to fester inside this country for years before 9/11. • Pat Dollard on Pundit Review Radio

    19/02/2007 Duración: 26min

To say that Pat Dollard kicks ass would be an understatement. It was great to have Pat join us once again on Pundit Review Radio. We got an update on his documentary, Young Americans. We talked about the war, the soldiers, politicians and the media. We also got a look at what it is like to produce and distribute a movie. Pat recently screened Young Americans in Los Angeles before an A-list conservative guest list, including a network executive to be named later. This was recorded in late January, I apologize for the delayed posting. To listen to an unforgettable phone call from one of Pat’s earlier visits with us, listen to this call from Susan, an Army wife and mother. He is the man behind the outstanding blog Poor and Stupid, he's also chief investment officer at Trend Marcolytics, a columnist for Smart Money and National Review. We asked Don about the impending tax hikes that we are about to see here in Mass. on businesses, and nationally, now that the Dems have taken over. What will happen to the economy? • Someone You Should Know: Marine Capt. Jennifer Harris

    12/02/2007 Duración: 08min

Someone You Should Know is a weekly collaboration between the number one milblog Blackfive and Pundit Review Radio. Matt Burden from Blackfive started Someone You Should Know in the early days of the Iraq war in order to tell the inspirational true stories of the men and women fighting for us around the world. Swampscott native, Marine Captain Jennifer J. Harris living her dream, flying helicopters for the Marines when she was shot down in Iraq. She and six others were killed. As they often do, the terrorists were filming for propaganda. On Saturday, the Boston Herald’s Peter Gelzinis wrote a column titled Video Captures Valor; Though there was no official comment out of Washington yesterday on the video’s authenticity, one anonymous government official did say that “the video appears to be legitimate.” "If indeed the chopper we see flying toward a tree line in its last moments was piloted valiantly by Harris, there can be no more dramatic validation of her fearlessness as a Marine or her skill as a va

  • Michael Yon live from Baghdad

    10/02/2007 Duración: 31min

Dean Barnett and I had the honor speaking with Michael Yon live from Baghdad this morning. Our discussion began with today's transition ceremony that Michael attended where Gen. Petraeus officially took command of our great forces in Iraq. We also discussed whether or not the Iraqi's are "stepping up", what it is like to embed and what the chances are for success at this point. As always, this is a compelling discussion with an amazing man and an incredibly important citizen journalist. If you can afford to support Michael’s work, you can do so here.
