It’s our final podcast of the 2017-18 season. With one game left in round-robin play, Team USA led by skip Jamie Sinclair have officially qualified for the playoffs at the 2018 Women’s World Championship! Team Sinclair will begin the playoffs on Saturday and now have a shot at the podium.This week’s guests include Team Sinclair lead Monica Walker as well as Team Persinger second Colin Hufman, as they prepare for the upcoming Men’s World Championship in Las Vegas (March 31-April 8). CurlingZone President/CEO Gerry Geurts joins host Price Atkinson this week and they go around the world of curling!

Team Sinclair and Team Persinger both captured 2018 USA Curling Nationals thrilling gold medal games Saturday at Schools Arena in Fargo, N.D. Sinclair won her second-straight US title and will represent Team USA at the Women’s World Championships starting this weekend in North Bay, Ontario.Led by skip Rich Ruohonen, Team Persinger knocked off Heath McCormick for a third time during the tournament en route to the title. They’ll represent Team USA at Men’s Worlds in Las Vegas coming up March 31-April 8. You’ll hear from Jamie Sinclair, Cory Christensen, Rich Ruohonen, Greg Persinger and Korey Dropkin!

The playoffs at the 2018 USA Curling Nationals are set led by Team Sinclair’s undefeated 7-0 mark in round robin play, earning them a spot in Saturday’s final. Team Persinger and Team McCormick both 8-1 will meet in the 1v2 page playoff game Thursday night, while Team Birr and Team Nernberger meet in the 3v4 game. We’ve got player interviews from both the men’s and women’s field plus a powerful interview with USA Curling’s Paralympic team members Steve Emt and Kirk Black. The 2018 USA Curling Nationals have begun in Fargo, N.D. and TESN’s Joe Calabrese and Price Atkinson along with CurlingZone’s Gerry Geurts have the latest on the first-three days of competition at Scheels Arena. The 10-team men’s field and 8-team women’s field are battling to represent the USA Curling at the upcoming Women’s and Men’s World Championships this spring. You’ll also hear the first of two powerful interviews with a pair of USA Curling’s Paralympic team. Price recently caught up with team members Meghan Lino and Justin Marshall about preparing to represent Team USA at the Paralympics in PyeongChang, South Korea (March 9-18). 

In the aftermath of Team Shuster’s gold medal performance at the 2018 Winter Olympics, we catch up with NBC Sports play-by-play analyst Jason Knapp, who called the historic moment in PyeongChang. It was a golden moment for John Shuster and USA Curling, as Team Shuster defeated Sweden 10-7 to win the gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea. John Shuster and Tyler George joined us in the aftermath yesterday to talk about their emotions, feelings and more of standing atop the podium, hearing our national anthem and winning the first-ever gold medal in USA Curling history. TESN’s Joe Calabrese & Price Atkinson plus CurlingZone’s Gerry Geurts react to the spectacle of what we all witnessed and the curling community experienced late Friday night/Saturday morning. Team USA led by skip John Shuster shocked Canada for the second time and for the first time in USA Curling history will play for the gold medal in the Winter Olympic Games. TESN’s Price Atkinson and Joe Calabrese along with CurlingZone’s Gerry Geurts react to the most historic day in USA Curling, as the Americans defeated Canada’s Kevin Koe 5-3. What it means for the sport of curling at the grassroots level in the U.S. and how Team USA matches up against Team Sweden and skip Niklas Edin.  Plus two-time Olympian and former Shuster teammate Jeff Isaacson joins us with what he’s observed thru his lens and the emotions he’s felt watching former teammates make this historic comeback in the 2018 Winter Olympics!

The round robin is complete at the 2018 Winter Olympics and Team USA’s John Shuster throttled Great Britain 10-4, punching their ticket into the medal round. No. 3 seed Team Shuster will face No. 2 seed Canada and Kevin Koe Thursday morning (6:05 am EST). We also broke down the women’s side of the draw and Team USA’s Nina Roth finishing just one win from the medal round at 4-5 overall.
