The Book of Revelation also know as the Apocalypse of Jesus Christ reveals the judgments on the covenant world of Israel in the sealed book of the Lamb. Can Acts 1:9-11 and Jesus' coming on the clouds In Like Manner be interpreted from a preterist perspective. Preterism is logical and makes sense. Christ's coming is clearly aligned with the Fall of the Temple in 70AD. This message brings this prophetic series on Christ's second appearing to a close for now. Bible prophecy, the last days and the temple are major themes of Bible Apocalyptic teachings.

Most believe that they would literally see Christ coming in a cloud. This is due to a lack of understanding apocalyptic imagery and temple typology. Acts 1:9-11 speaks of Jesus' return, but in the context of an imminent coming to the generation that saw him go. He is seated at the throne of God. The preterist view continues to gain momentum around the world.

Part 4 in the series of Coming on the Clouds In Like Manner from Acts 1:9-11. How does this text align with a coming of Christ that occurred in the past? The Scriptures leaves clues, very definitive ones. Jesus promised he would return beefore the generation living while he was on earth passed away. He called in coming in the clouds. Acts 1:9-11 which speaks of Christ coming on the clouds in like manner is being understood as His returnin connection with the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem in AD 70. The text is clearly typologically associated with temple imagery. It is also found in the center of Israel's restoration motif along with the coming of the kingdom of God. Preterism continues to gain a wider acceptance among those unafraid to embrace truth.

Coming on the Clouds in Like Manner per Acts 1:9-11 is not a coming enshrouded in mystery. God revealed through His word the prophetic and apocalyptic meaning of coming in the clouds. Acts 1:9-11 does not occur in a vaccuum. There are texts in Matthew 24:30-34 and Matthew 26:64 that provide the contextual information to understand this coming.Neither should the text be separated from the work of Christ in the temple as typified by the High Priest of the Levitical order.
