Knowing when to be open and when to close ourselves in the different areas of our lives is an important skill that can have big implications for our relationships, our work and our general life experience. Asking the right questions will get us the answers we seek. It may take some time to answer the biggest questions in life, but if we "live the question," we are more apt to live into the answers. There's a difference between what we want and what we need, but it's easy to confuse them. Wants tend to be material or superficial, while needs make us healthy and whole. When we spend time and energy chasing what we want we will often end up disappointed because the deeper needs driving us remain unfulfilled. Inner Demons are our unresolved emotional issues, old wounds, fears and dysfunction. False gods are the people, places and things we chase after thinking they will make us happy or fulfilled. Sexual anorexia is the avoidance or fear of giving or receiving social, sexual or emotional nourishment. In food anorexia, a person refuses the nourishment of food. Sexual, social and emotional anorexics shut down or refuse to fulfill their needs for intimacy. In the extreme, food anorexics can die of starvation. Loneliness is the painful experience of disconnection, longing for love and companionship. Solitude is the nurturing and fulfilling experience of deep time alone and connected with oneself and the larger consciousness system. These are very different perspectives and feelings in the same circumstance of being alone.  Introverts may crave time for themselves, while extroverts crave time with others. Renee talks about the vast difference between loneliness and isolation and contentment in solitude. Addiction is about medicating unresolved suffering and hopelessness. The Law of One, also known as the Book of Ra, offers a profound meta-perspective of the evolution of consciousness and humanity. Everything is connected and works for the greater good on the ultimate level, though we don't always experience that in our daily lives. The Law of One describes different levels of consciousness as "densities." The first density is unified consciousness found most easily in nature. There is great benefit in acknowledging our connection with the elements of nature, but even greater benefit in actually feeling these connections. We ARE children of nature.
