Episode 194: Joseph Did You Know?
23/12/2021 Duración: 37minOne of the unsung heroes of the Nativity story is definite Joseph. In this episode, we take a closer look at just how extraordinary Joseph was and the criticism that he faced as he married a pregnant woman. When looking at Biblical narratives, it is vital to understand the historical setting, especially when it comes to the Mosaic Law. We hope this episode will encourage you to obey God’s Word even when culture looks down on you for it. Be encouraged this Christmas! God knows who is obeying Him and He will bring the truth to light one day. Merry Christmas from all of us at Christ, Culture, & Coffee. Episode 193: Thinking Christianly About the Metaverse
16/12/2021 Duración: 43minRecently, Facebook executives announced the creation of the Metaverse. So what exactly is it? Well, in a nutshell, it is a virtual world, much like the fictional world in “Ready Player One”. With such a massive, new technology on the horizon, Christians need to know how to process it within a Christian Worldview. The Metaverse offers great opportunities to meet our culture where they are at with the Gospel, however, it also will present challenges that we need to be aware of. We hope that this episode will help you understand what the Metaverse is and how as Christians we can use it to further carry out the Great Commission. Episode 192: Science Cannot Explain Everything, Pt. 2
09/12/2021 Duración: 41minIs science the answer to everything? Many in our culture seem to believe this, but it is far from the truth. In this episode, we take a look at one aspect of reality that science cannot explain: morality. Most people agree that there are objective moral truths, or right and wrongs, that apply to everyone. Because objective morality exists, a basic question that needs answering is: Where does morality come from? Science is inadequate to answer this question because science can only deal with the natural universe, and morality is an immaterial thing. Attempting to ground morality in biological evolution fails miserably. Theism offers a much better explanation of where morality came from. We hope that this episode will equip you to talk with others about your faith and provide compelling truths for a biblical worldview. Episode 191: Science Cannot Explain Everything
02/12/2021 Duración: 26minIs science the answer to everything? Many in our culture seem to believe this, but it is far from the truth. In this episode, we take a look at one aspect of reality that science cannot explain: the cause for the beginning of the Universe. Science is a great tool to measure the material world, but it is an adequate tool to measure anything outside of the natural realm. When it comes to understanding the immaterial world, we need different tools that are adequate for the job. We hope that this episode will equip you to talk with your friends and family who regard science as the best and only way to know things. Many of us will be around family and friends this holiday season, so it is a great time to prepare for some apologetic conversations! Science cannot explain everything. We need reason, logic, and metaphysics too. Episode 190: Crash Course on Critical Theory
25/11/2021 Duración: 56minWhat is Critical Theory? Many people talk about it and vilify it, but what exactly is it? If you don’t know what it is, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. This episode is a crash course on the main points of Critical Theory (CT). You may be surprised to find out that CT is not only about race, but about gender, sexuality, age, weight, abilities, and a host of other things. As Christians, we need to evaluate these types of cultural viewpoints and compare them with a biblical worldview. We hope that this episode will give you a quick understanding of CT and also help you to see how it is incompatible with a biblical worldview. We are praying that you will use this information to help those around you understand the flaws of CT and how Christianity makes sense of the way the world actually is. 18/11/2021 Duración: 40minHow should we approach prayer? This is a question that many Christians ask and, honestly, many struggle with. There are a lot of complicated aspects to prayer, but there is also simplicity in it. In this week’s episode, we interview Kyle DiRoberts about his new book “The Secret to Prayer”. Episode 188: Apologetics with a Christian College Student (Special Guest Hailey Keller)
11/11/2021 Duración: 43minIn this special episode, we interview one of our long-time listeners, Hailey Keller. Hailey is currently a freshman at Grand Canyon University and has recently started a "Students for Life" group on her campus. Apologetics has played an important role in Hailey’s life, and in this episode, we discuss how vital a good church, good parents, and good theology are for young Christians. Episode 187: How Doubts Can Strengthen Our Faith
04/11/2021 Duración: 43minA common misconception within Christianity is that we are not allowed to doubt. This false belief has led many people down the path of deconstruction. The Church should be a place that invites doubt, transparency, and honest discussion. When we doubt in a Christian community, our faith can be strengthened. However, if we doubt in isolation, deconstruction often results. As the Church, we need to come together, express our doubts, and seek answers together as a community. In this episode, we look at Biblical examples of doubt and what principles we can glean from them. We propose that doubting can strengthen our faith when we investigate our doubts in a community. Episode 186: Masculinity & Passivity
28/10/2021 Duración: 39minOne of the greatest issues that men deal with is passivity. This reluctance to step up and do what is needed has been the root cause of many issues in the family, society, and the church. In this episode, we want to look at what Scripture says about men and how they are supposed to behave. We firmly believe that so many of our current societal problems are happening because men are not doing what God has called them to do. Men, we hope that this episode encourages and challenges you to become who God has called you to be. We cannot sit passively on the sidelines of life. We need to engage, act, and take responsibility in our families, churches, and neighborhoods. Episode 184: The Dangers of Pornography
14/10/2021 Duración: 53minPornography has had such a detrimental effect on our culture. God’s Word is clear that lust is a sin, but often we do not take the time to think through why lust and porn are so bad for human beings. In this episode, we talk about the addictive nature of pornography and how it hurts those who watch it, those who create it, and even those who do neither. We hope that this episode will be eye-opening to you and that if you are struggling with pornography, you will seek out help. Episode 182: What Are Miracles & Why Does God Do Them?
30/09/2021 Duración: 01h02minThe Bible is full of miracles. Moses, Elijah, Jesus, and the Disciples all performed amazing “signs and wonders”. But what qualifies as a miracle, and how do miracles apply to our lives today? Should we be expecting miracles to happen often? Does answered prayer qualify as a miracle? What about things that seem to be a coincidence? Does God get credit for them? In this episode we look at different classes of miracles and how they apply to our lives. We believe that using the word “miracle” when a miracle has not occurred is damaging to our witness and invites our skeptical friends to scrutinize our beliefs. We want to be clear on what miracles are and use the term in the way that the Bible uses it. We hope that this episode will help you to be a good witness for the God who performs miracles. Episode 181: A Christian Response to Preferred Pronouns
23/09/2021 Duración: 56minExpressing your preferred pronouns to co-workers, fellow students, and teachers has become a cultural expectation over the past few years. Many organizations require their students or employees to list their preferred pronouns in their email signature, social media handle, etc. What is the Christian perspective on preferred pronouns? How are we to think about this current cultural movement from a Christian Worldview perspective? How are we to interact with those around us who have this expectation of us? In this episode, we discuss the hot topic of preferred pronouns and how Christians should respond. We hope that this episode helps you to think clearly about what Scripture says and how we can apply this to our current situation. As salt and light, we are to go out into the world and speak the truth as we love our neighbors as ourselves. Episode 180: The Body of Christ with Special Guest Brandon Ray of Inkledeux
16/09/2021 Duración: 41minSometimes it is easy to forget that the Church is made up of people who are different from one another. Different temperaments, personalities, giftings, and passions. Each one of us is unique and God wants to use us to prosper His kingdom in the ways that He has designed us to, within our personalities, temperaments, etc. This week we are joined by our friend Brando Ray from the Inkledeux Podcast and Coffee Roastery. He shares with us the impact that apologetics has had in his life, and also how he uses serving others in order to share the Gospel of Jesus with others. We hope this episode encourages you and helps you to see that God can use you right where you are at to reach the world with the Gospel. Episode 179: Texas Heartbeat Bill & Personhood Apologetics
09/09/2021 Duración: 55minThis past week the state of Texas passed a bill that was a huge win for the Pro-Life movement. In this episode, we talk about the bill, the opposition to it, and also about new tactics from the Pro-Abortion position. This new tactic makes the claim that personhood is what deems a human being with the right to life. The Pro-Abortion position is now making a distinction between a human being and a human person. We need to be prepared for this tactic, so in this episode, we give you an easy-to-remember argument that will keep you prepared to show how personhood cannot be separated from human biology. We hope that this episode will equip you to stand for life and to be an advocate for the most vulnerable and marginalized members of our society, the unborn. Episode 178: Responding to Once Saved, Always Saved Objections
02/09/2021 Duración: 57minWe recently had someone respond to our Once Saved Always Saved episode. This person clearly did not agree with us, and called OSAS a false gospel. So, we decided to respond to some of her arguments for why a believer can lose their salvation if they do not obey the Lord, live for him, and produce good works. Her arguments are very common objections to the once saved always saved position, so we thought this would be a good follow-up to our previous episode. As Christians we need to seriously consider the command of 2 Timothy 2:15, "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” Accurately handling God’s word is vital. So in this episode, we take a hard look at some of the Scriptures proposed by our objector on YouTube to argue that the once saved always saved position is wrong. We hope this will be beneficial to you and helps you to study the Bible well. Consider supporting us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/christcult

Episode 177: Gaining/Losing Eternal Rewards
25/08/2021 Duración: 59minLast week we talked about eternal security and how the Scriptures teach that once a person has believed in Jesus for their eternal life, they can never lose that eternal life. This week we want to talk about the importance of living for Jesus and how we can gain or lose eternal rewards based upon how we live our lives. Even though a believer in Jesus can never lose eternal life, we can still lose something of extreme importance. We hope that this episode will push you to live for Jesus knowing that what we do in this life counts forever. Episode 176: Once Saved, Always Saved?
19/08/2021 Duración: 53minHow can we know that we are going to heaven when we die? What should we look to for assurance of our salvation? How can we be sure that we really believed in Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross? What if I’m not really saved? These are common questions that Christians throughout the centuries have struggled with. The reason these doubts plague us is that salvation is extremely important to Christians. In this episode, we walk through what Scripture says about the assurance of our salvation, and what we need to look to in order to know that we are eternally secure. We hope that this episode will be an encouragement to you and that it alleviates any anxieties that you have over the security of your eternal life as a believer in Jesus.
