Episode 174: Make Disciples, Not Excuses!
05/08/2021 Duración: 55minWe all want to have neat, tidy, discipleship and evangelistic situations present themselves to us. So often we look for the ideal situations and miss out on opportunities to obey Jesus’s words in the Great Commission. In this episode, we look at Acts 16 to see how Paul and Silas utilized a variety of situations to obey the command to make disciples. Some situations are ideal, some are antagonistic, and some are completely undesirable. However, we are not called to obey Jesus when the scenario is perfect but to obey regardless of the scenarios we are in. We hope that you will use the apologetic and theological knowledge of our podcast to disciple others in the ways of Jesus. Apologetics is not merely about knowing why we believe what we believe, it is also about teaching others. We need to make disciples, not excuses. Episode 172: Worldview: Postmodernism
22/07/2021 Duración: 45minOne of the most dominant views in our current culture is postmodernism. When it comes to the physical universe, naturalism still reigns supreme. However, postmodernism is prevalent when it comes to the metaphysical world. Morality, spirituality, and truth are all viewed as relativistic in our society, and the reason for this is the accepted postmodern viewpoints. In this episode, we take a look at how postmodernism answers the 7 worldview questions. We then see if it is logical, factual, and livable. We hope that this episode will prepare you to talk with people who adhere to a relativistic worldview. We desperately need to show how bankrupt this worldview truly is. Episode 171: Worldview: Pantheistic Monism
15/07/2021 Duración: 54minOne of the most prevalent worldviews comes from the east. Pantheistic monism is the view held by millions of people who adhere to Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, and other religions. In this episode, we break down the beliefs and assumptions of this worldview, then we assess if it is logical, factual, and livable. If you have not encountered this worldview yet, then we encourage you to listen to this episode. It will help you get a good handle on a view that is very different from how many people in a western culture think. As New Age ideology becomes more popular, many eastern beliefs are making their way into western culture, and we need to be able to help people see the falsehood associated with this worldview as well as help them to see the validity of a Biblical Worldview. We hope that you will use this information to speak truth into the lives of those around you who need to know Jesus and the free gift of eternal life that He offers. Episode 170: Worldview: Naturalism/Atheism
08/07/2021 Duración: 57minNaturalistic Atheism is a very specific Worldview. Understanding the assumptions and beliefs of this Worldview can help you when discussing your Christian beliefs with your Atheist friends and family. In this episode, we look at the seven basic questions of the atheistic worldview. We then evaluate this view according to these three criteria: 1. is it logical? 2. is it factual? 3. is it livable? Our goal with this podcast is to equip you with good reason and good evidence for the Christian Worldview. One of the ways that we can become better equipped is by investigating other believes and evaluating their truth claims. Episode 169: What in the World Is a Worldview?
01/07/2021 Duración: 58minThe word "worldview" has been a Christian buzzword for the past few decades, but what is it? Not properly understanding the impact of a person’s worldview can lead to misunderstanding when we try to evangelize. We want to help bring clarity to what a worldview is and give you an easy to remember template of 7 questions that every worldview needs to answer. We will also define what a worldview is and give some practical criteria for evaluating if a worldview is true or false. We hope that this episode will equip you to think critically about your own view of the world as well as other worldviews. Episode 168: Critiquing LGBTQ+ Slogans
24/06/2021 Duración: 01h04minSlogans and mantras are used to promote specific ideologies within a culture. We often hear slogans so much that they become ingrained in our thinking and we do not scrutinize them as we should. In this week’s episode, we discuss logical fallacies and how to spot bad logic in mantras and slogans that we often hear regarding LGBTQ+ ideology. We need to assess arguments based on their reason and evidence, but so often slogans lack both. Instead, our culture seems to be content with promoting strong emotional pleas, circular reasoning, name-calling, and appeals to popularity. We hope that this episode will help you to spot these logical fallacies in common cultural slogans, as well as talk with your friends, family, and neighbors about the reasons for holding to a biblical sexual ethic. Episode 167: Is “Homosexual” a Biblical Mistranslation?
17/06/2021 Duración: 51minFor the past few decades, there has been a dispute about the word arsenokoitai, which has been translated as “homosexual,” in 1 Corinthians 6:9 and 1 Timothy 1:10. Currently, there is a movie in development called 1946, which is about this dispute. The 1946 movie, which is being made by pro-LGBTQ+ Christians, suggests that this error has caused a lot of pain and confusion over what God says about homosexuality. In this episode, we want to look at the arguments about the word that Paul uses in 1 Corinthians and 1 Timothy to see what the original Greek meaning was. By looking into the word, where it was derived from, and how we can know what it means, we hope to show that the claims of the 1946 movie are irrelevant to what Scripture says about homosexuality and that the longstanding interpretation of both Old and New Testaments are accurate in stating homosexual sex is a sin. We hope this episode will help you to think clearly about what Scripture says and that it will also equip you to talk with your friends,

Episode 166: Christian, Don’t Grow Weary!
10/06/2021 Duración: 47minStanding for truth is difficult. Many Christians are feeling pressure from our culture to conform and to back down from their beliefs. This is something that we cannot do, but the constant cultural pressure can feel overwhelming. So what do we do? In this week’s episode, we look at what Jesus said about enduring hardships for His name. He gives us practical advice for standing firm in the faith while being slandered or persecuted. We hope that this episode will encourage you and help you to focus on the Word of God as you stand for Jesus in a hostile culture. Episode 165: Is Polygamy Permissible?
03/06/2021 Duración: 59minIt is true that there are many Old-Testament Bible characters who were in polygamist marriages. Some of the greatest kings of Israel had multiple wives, and one of them was even called “A man after God’s own heart." Does the fact that Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Saul, David, and Solomon all had multiple wives mean that it is permissible to practice polygamy? Can we conclude that God views polygamy as a legitimate manner of marriage? Many have followed this line of argument, but the truth is that Scripture clearly teaches that polygamy is morally wrong. In this episode, we look at what Scripture teaches about marriage and why having multiple wives or husbands is actually harmful to human beings. We hope that this episode will equip you with biblical knowledge about marriage and family so that you will be prepared to talk with others who disagree. Our goal is to think and live from a biblical worldview, and we hope that this episode will encourage and equip you in that as well. Book Mentioned in this episode: “Mer

Episode 164: Sex Before Marriage?
27/05/2021 Duración: 46minUnderstanding the purpose and design for sex should inform us on how we are to properly engage in it. According to the Bible, sex should only be used within marriage: one man, one woman, becoming one flesh for one lifetime. Anything outside of this is against God’s design for sex. Yet, our society believes that sex before marriage is not only permissible but expected. In this episode, we take a look at what Scripture says about sex before marriage and how cohabiting relationships are not beneficial for us. We hope that this will encourage you to live out holy sexuality and equip you to help others understand God’s design for sex. Episode 163: What Is the Purpose of Sex?
20/05/2021 Duración: 01h04minBefore you can know what to do with something, you need to know what it is and what it was designed to do. When it comes to the purpose of sex, our culture mistakingly believes that pleasure is the intended goal. This false belief has led to many broken relationships, hurts, broken families, and abortions. In this week’s episode, we look at what the Bible teaches the purpose of sex is and how understanding God’s design can inform our sexual behavior. Could it be that God has told us the best way to practice sex because He wants what is best for us? Could following God’s instruction lead to human flourishing and a beautiful marriage? We think so, and we hope that you will be encouraged through our discussion. Episode 162: Biology Mythology
13/05/2021 Duración: 54minTruth sets us free, but living according to lies is always dangerous. Our culture is currently promoting a modern-day myth that is harming many people. Transgender ideology is relativism applied to biology and identity. The effects of this ideology are very damaging. In this episode, we look at six myths that are currently being promoted to convince our society that transcending gender is doable and permissible. We believe that people should be who they truly are, their authentic selves. However, the question that must be answered is: Who are we truly? We hope that this episode will equip you to discuss these issues with your friends and neighbors. Additionally, we hope to instill empathy, love, and compassion in our listeners, so that we all can follow Jesus in being full of Truth and Grace. Episode 161: The Value of Femininity
06/05/2021 Duración: 42minGod intentionally made human beings male and female. The masculine and feminine qualities of our species are intended to show us something of who God is. This is part of what it means to be made in God’s image and likeness. In this week’s show, we take a look at the Scriptures that reflect the feminine characteristics of God. There are many passages where God explains his love, compassion, and mercy with feminine imagery. The value of femininity cannot be overstated. That is why we want to celebrate and honor women with this week’s show. We hope that this will encourage you and help equip you to discuss the beauty, importance, and value of femininity. Episode 160: What Is the Church Supposed to Do?
29/04/2021 Duración: 01h01minWhat is the Christian Church supposed to be and do? How can we evaluate if we as God’s people are carrying out the mission that He has given us? What should we look for in a local church, and how can we participate in what Jesus commanded us to do in our local church context? In this episode, we will look at the four functions of the Church and discuss the difference between functions and forms. In John 17, we see Jesus praying for our unity, and having a proper understanding of functions and forms will help us in our pursuit of unity. Episode 159: Why Doesn’t God Show Himself?
22/04/2021 Duración: 34minThere is a common objection to God’s existence that you may have already encountered. It goes something like this: “I would believe in God and follow him if he would just show himself to me.” In this episode, we provide three tactics that will help prepare you to respond to this common objection. We also look at situations where God did reveal himself to human beings and they still didn’t obey or follow him. We hope that this episode will help you be prepared to discuss the truth with your friends and neighbors and that it will also give you confidence in what you believe. Episode 158: Buddhism: A Failed Quest to End Suffering
15/04/2021 Duración: 56minBuddhism has been a popular religious belief system in the Eastern world for a few millennia, but it has gained popularity in the Western culture over the past 60 years. The purpose of Buddhism is to eliminate suffering, which is a very noble cause. The problem with Buddhism is what it gives up in order to try to eliminate suffering. Because of Buddhism's growing popularity, we, as Christians, need to know what it teaches and how we can help others to see that it is inadequate to eliminate suffering. The only way that suffering can be eliminated is with the destruction of evil, which requires someone powerful, who can set creation back to what it originally was. The only person who can do this is the God-man, Jesus Christ.
