  • E176 I Thought You Were Gonna Say 'Nipples'

    30/09/2021 Duración: 01h08min

It's the Final Episode before GUESTOBERFEST!!!! And to get us in the spooky season, we BOTH have ghost storiez!!! Sarah starts out with one families tale of their haunted farmhouse. Purchased by Brittany as her dream home, she soon found out that it really was too good to be true (and contained some unwelcome roommates). With a total of 3 full-body apparitions seen in the home there are plenty of storiez, and evidence! Stephanie wraps up with the story of an entire haunted district! A very famous district in fact: Washington D.C. It's so haunted that there is an entire Wikipedia page dedicated ONLY to the ghosts. Tune in to hear about a few of the major players, and head over to the Wiki to learn about all of them!! We can't wait to get Guestoberfest started for our 4th year in a row!! We can't believe it's the 4th one, and we really could not do this without the support of YOU the listener! So thank you! And stay tuned for a very special GUESTOBERFEST (a blast from the past *wink*)

  • E175 From Russia With Rage

    23/09/2021 Duración: 01h36min

Whew - this turned into one long episode. And that's because it's jam-packed with storiez!! We got banter, we got serial killers from Russia, and we have a current true crime --- classic Deadtime Storiez over here. Stephanie starts off with the tale of the Russian Chessboard Killer, Alexander Pichushkin. Though he swears he has the highest number of fatalities, he still only comes in second after his trials --- but no matter what he was a monster. And, his story adds to our list of "reasons to never visit Russia" Sarah finishes the episode with the current missing persons case of Gabrielle "Gabby" Petito. A 22-year old who went missing after her boyfriend (fiance?) returned to his parents house in her van, without her, after being on a cross country trip just the two of them. This case has garnered national media attention, but we want to highlight the fact that this has attracted the spotlight partly because Gabby is a young, attractive, white female. There are far more cases of missing persons of color in

  • E174 Law & Order: S.B.D.

    16/09/2021 Duración: 42min

What's That Smell?? It's a brand new episode!! We're back and full of gas...I mean, laughs...as we bring you this weeks storiez. Stephanie starts out with her #2 movement, or second half, of her story about Genetic Genealogy and the cold cases that have been solved because of this new technology. ***CONTENT WARNING*** Both stories told in this episode have elements of abuse and harm to children. Sarah wraps up with a **cue-airhorn-noise** listener story! It's not about ghosts, but it is spine chilling just the same. Big thank you to our listener and friend, Amy, for providing this story from her hometown!! It's an episode full of murder, farts, and intrigue. Hold on to your buttz, cause you don't want to miss it!!

  • E173 I Don't Know, Third Base?

    09/09/2021 Duración: 34min

It's a little shorty episode this week - but that doesn't mean it isn't full to the brim with spooks! Sarah starts us off with a ghost story, except this ghost story is a little different: it's a friendly ghost! The Queen Ann Hotel in San Francisco was originally an elite girls boarding school, and it seems the old headmistress never left. Mary Lake had some drama in her lifetime, but she also had a passion for her school and her students and her ghost is said to be friendly and even helpful (like unpacking your bags for you). Book your night at the Queen Ann and see if Mary will sing you to sleep. ***CONTENT WARNING*** Stephanie turns this ship in a completely different direction and is bringing us some true crime. Specifically murder...specifically multiple murders. But what these murders have in common isn't a person, it's how they were solved. Genetic Genealogy: take a listen and let us know your thoughts on this new technique and testing. BONUS - Stephanie's stories are a 2-parter! So be sure to tune

  • E172 Why Did We Come In This Room?

    02/09/2021 Duración: 01h05min

Is it a never-ending list of things to do....or just the ADHD kicking in? Either way, we've got a jam-packed episode this week!! Starting off: Stephanie is giving us a 2-for-1 story special! First is the tale of Mike "The Durable" Malloy. A man who was durable...until he wasn't. And second is a story that will have you saying "Good for her" - sticky fingers Sarah got caught stealing from the crown when she was a maid and so she was exiled to the colonies where she was sold as an indentured servant. Until she escaped - convinced hundreds of colonists she was nobility - and scammed her way to a comfortable life. Like we said... "Good for her". Sarah wraps up the episode with a story courtesy of our podcasting friend Shane with "Realm of Unknown" This true crime story set in the wild-west days of the internet has a major cast of characters, and quite the twist. Big shout out to Shane for bringing us this story - and if you haven't listened to Shane's show "Realm of Unknown".....what are you waiting for??

  • E171 Billions of Williams

    26/08/2021 Duración: 55min

OOOOOhhhh we got some spirits in here this week!!! Maybe it's because we're getting closer to the spooky season (and GUESTOBERFEST) but we both have spirit storiez! Sarah starts us out with our favorite kind of ghost story: a listener ghost story!!! This one comes from the lovely Kyle (who also left us a 5-star review recently, so we appreciate you Kyle!). Kyle's dad lived in a house with roommates when he was younger...but some of those roommates weren't welcome. Mainly because they didn't pay rent, had loud parties in the pool and didn't invite the rest of the house, and...they were dead. Stephanie wraps up the episode by spilling all the T about Spirit Photography, and the DRAMA surrounding it. And, you know we LOVE the drama. Especially when it includes people like: PT Barnum, Harry Houdini, & Sir. Arthur Conan Doyle (yes...this story includes ALL 3 of them - and more!) Sit back, relax, and grab some spirits for this episode ya'll.

  • E170 Is This A Cult?!

    19/08/2021 Duración: 43min

It's beginning to look a lot like spooky-season!! Both Sarah and Stephanie are back to their regularly scheduled busy fall schedules. Stephanie is back, back, back again at (not Terror Behind The Walls) Eastern State Penitentiary for their new "Halloween Nights at Eastern State" attraction!! And this year they're using the ENTIRE prison!!!!!! Sarah is performing in "The Secretaries" a show about a murderous cult of...secretaries. It's the season opener for Allens Lane Theatre, it's part of Fringe Festival AND it's in-person!!! (PLUS - WE'VE GOT GUESTOBERFEST COMING UP----but more on that later) Sarah starts the episode out with a short (and not sweet) ghost story. We're going to Mason County, West Virginia in an area of farmland surrounded on all sides by the "Big Woods" - and also surrounded by the haunting screams of a soul trapped. Stephanie wraps up the episode with a cult-not-cult called "The Garden". A commune located in Tennessee that gained traction on TikTok soon had people questioning: is this just

  • E169 It's A Nice Day For Some White Witchez

    12/08/2021 Duración: 36min

It's back to just us ghoul-friends this week! And we managed to both have some witch storiez to tell. Sarah starts off with the strange death of Christopher Case. Shoutout to Reddit user r/chickenwinganxiety for the write up. Is Chris' death easily explainable with the diagnosis of acute myocarditis, OR, was it the curse of a witch that came to deadly fruition?? Either way - if you learn something, it's your own fault. Stephanie wraps up the episode with some Pennsylvania Dutch history. Did you know they practiced their own spells, rituals, and even pow-wows? And the colorful decoration you see on the outside of barns is actually a "Hex Sign" that's meant to ward off the Devil and other evil spirits. It's a lighter episode than previous weeks, and what can we say...it's a nice episode for some white witches.

  • E168 #AmandaComeHome

    05/08/2021 Duración: 01h13min

Kristina's back ya'll!! And.....she's here to ruin some childhoods. Specifically those who grew up with classic Nickelodeon. Kristina is telling us all about the predator who is Dan Schneider. A children's television producer for Nickelodeon, he is the man behind some of your most beloved shows: All That, Kenan & Kel, The Amanda Show, iCarly (just to name a tiny few). But, he's also the men behind some abuse. And Kristina is here to lay it all out for us, starting with the cold hard facts with tangible evidence and working down to the internet speculations and conspiracy theories. It's quite scary ya'll. We've talked a lot about Britney, but we also want to talk about our support of Amanda Bynes. Another talented child star who had her life ruined by the actions of her parents/adults around her. We just want the best for you Amanda. #amandacomehome

  • E167 Did We Mention #FreeBritney??!

    29/07/2021 Duración: 50min

We're not sure if ya'll know this but, Chris Crocker was right! Let me back up a second: if this is your first time here (stop, go back to the beginning) you might not be up to speed with the Britney Spears conservatorship case. But don't worry because this week Stephanie will give us a recap AND a current update. And as always - FreeBritney. Sarah finishes up with the tale of a mama-bear in action...except it's not the action you would expect. Corinna Smith led a relatively boring life until one day when her daughter told her something that made Corinna snap. But does she deserve the sentence she was given? Let us know what you think! And also, if you like the show, please be sure to leave us a review! Help us get noticed in Al-Gores-Rhythm......did we spell that right...algorithm? Either way - drop some love!!

  • E166 The Cult of Western Civilization

    22/07/2021 Duración: 01h06min

It's a Guest-Episode-Week!! We're very excited to welcome one of our original, numba-one-spot, fanz: Jacob!! Jacob has been with us since week 2 (literally) and we're so happy to be able to provide a platform for the story he is bringing this week. It has come out recently that there have been findings of unmarked, mass graves on the grounds of Canadian Residential Schools. These residential schools were mandatory schools created only for Indigenous children. Starting in 1894, these schools were operating until 1997 when the final school was closed. This is a story of genocide, abuse, and unfortunately most of it was directed towards children - so - **CONTENT WARNING** Being 1 full-white woman and 1 white-passing mixed woman, we felt it was important to have this story told by an Indigenous person - whom Jacob is. The conversation gets dense (these aren't "Fun" facts people) but hopefully has a nice dose of sarcasm to keep you chuckling through the groans. Most importantly, we hope you learn something and we

  • E165 Vax That Thang Up

    15/07/2021 Duración: 52min

We're in a weird mood this episode - so get ready! (Stephanie's fresh off a vacation and fresh on a new round of sinus infection, and Sarah is just 'yes-anding' her way through this. Either way, if this was your first episode.....please stop, and go back to the beginning). On to the storiez --lett'ssss ghooo-st: cause Sarah's gotta ghost story!! It's the tale of the Big Bay Lighthouse in Michigan. Now a fully functioning B&B, this historic lighthouse has seen some dark days (and now sees some ghosts)! ***CONTENT WARNING*** Stephanie's story deals with sexual abuse to children. But, this is the type of story that we want to give a platform to: in New Hanover County, North Carolina there is an ongoing investigation and open lawsuit against former teacher, Michael Kelly. But he's not the only abuser in the New Hanover County school district. And having just one abuser in a school district is one too many. We want to inform people of what happened, and encourage anyone who has been affected by Michael Kelly, or a

  • E164 He Said, She Said: He Dead

    08/07/2021 Duración: 01h13min

It might be two girls too much, but... we've got some killer ladies this week!! Stephanie's murderous madam is Cordellia Botkin, and while she is most definitely a badass, she's also a hot mess. After her younger lover chooses his second chance at life over her, Cordellia chooses choas over sensibility. Sarah's tale is about none other than the mad-mormon herself: Jodi Arias. Jodi became a household name after brutally murdering her on-again, off-again boyfriend Travis Alexander. In a case full of sex, lies, mormons, and an MLM; the trial of Jodi Arias gripped America realtime. After an unheard-of 18 days on the defense stand, Jodi was still found incredibly guilty. This week is just titties full of crazy!

  • E163 Man-Bear-Man??!

    01/07/2021 Duración: 39min

It's a Bear! It's a Man! ... wait, it's a MAN??? Let's jump into it this week with Sarah's story that'll make you go "huh?". In the late 1780's an Irishman met a performing bear while traveling around France. Except this bear was more than meets the eye...... cause it was a man (if you couldn't guess from the title). A man had been sewn into a bear suit and forced to perform all over France. Classic story to make you go "huh" Wrapping up: Stephanie takes us down a darker path with the true crime murder of Bobbie Jo Stinnett. DISCLAIMER - the crime in this story is quite rough. Buckle up and be prepared. A dog-breeder and soon-to-be-mom thought she had met a good friend via a chatroom. That "friend" turned out to be anything but. Like I said, buckle up, because this roller coaster of a story doesn't stop until the very end.

  • E162 The Devil Went Down To Stonehenge

    24/06/2021 Duración: 01h19min

The Devil went down to Georgia('s Stonehenge)and now Sarah's here to tell us about it! But first we have an update in the Lori Vallow & Chad Daybell case! Good news, it looks like they might finally be held accountable (fingers crossed). Either way, we'll continue to update as the process moves forward. Now back on to Georgia's Stonehenge - who built it, why, and what on earth do those inscriptions read? Find out as Sarah tells us all about this weird world fixture. Speaking of Sarah: it's her birthday!!! In honor of her big 3-0 Stephanie is telling Sarah her entire Natal Chart. Nothing like being read to filth by the stars to start out a new decade. If you want to figure out your own Natal Chart (it's surprisingly easy!) check out the book Stephanie uses "You Were Born For This: Astrology for Radical Self-Acceptance" by Chani Nicholas.

  • E161 QAno-She-Didn't

    17/06/2021 Duración: 01h20s

Get ready ya'll, cause this week Stephanie is covering "QAnon". The far-right cult? conspiracy website? troll? gained momentum and followers in 2016. But what exactly is it? What do they believe? How can seemingly 'normal' people be sucked in? AND - who IS 'Q'??? Stephanie answers all these questions and then some. But the main takeaway is that: if there's one thing QAnon hates the most, it's Lady Gaga. Sarah finishes out the (unintended political) episode with the story of the abduction of the 11th Panchen Lama in Tibet. In 1995 the Dali Lama named the 11th Panchen Lama, a 6 year old boy. And 3 days later the Chinese government abducted him and his entire family. The boy has never been seen since then. Though the Chinese government alleges that he's "totally still alive" but, you know, you might not have seen him cause he goes to a different school... Thank you as always for your support!! As we get closer and closer to the 200 episode mark we're going to have more fun surprises, merch, AND content!! Stay

  • E160 Is This A Crime??!

    10/06/2021 Duración: 45min

We've got banter, we've got storiez, and WE'RE STILL IN THE STUDIO!! It feels amazing and surreal all at once - we're just so happy to be back and making this 2-star content ya'll love. Sarah starts us off with 2 weird world stories. The first is about a friend duo and their drunken shenanigans that end with a new friend named "Dirk". And second can be summed up by the headline that made it infamous: it's the story of "A Headless Body in a Topless Bar". Stephanie rounds out the episode by diving deeper into the history behind her topic last week: "No Sleep". A subreddit and ultimately a writing genre has evolved from being a space to throw out new ideas to an even bigger platform where individual artists writing can get discovered (or..people can tell the REAL storiez.....). Either way - we're not getting any sleep tonight.

  • E159 A Puberty Ghost

    03/06/2021 Duración: 01h51s

Back to life - Back to the STUDIO!!! That's right! We're officially back to recording in our studio (at Eric and Mariangela's house - Thanks Ya'll!!) It feels so great to be back in person telling our storiez, and we think it sounds great too. Stephanie starts us out with a story from "No Sleep". And if you don't know what "No Sleep" is - it's basically what it sounds like: storiez that make you not want to sleep. This week's story is called "Betsy the Doll" and while the name sounds friendly, the tale is definitely not. Sarah finishes the episode with the tale of "Popper the Poltergeist". In 1958 the Herrmann family was plagued by activity ranging from bottles popping their tops, to precious [moments] figurines being thrown, to even a few bookcases being knocked over. While there are more than 70 accounted moments of activity, this all took place over the span of a mere month. The causes of this phenomena have been narrowed down to 2: your basic-type Poltergeist, OR, the unknown telekenetic powers of a te

  • E158 An Infestation Of Ghosts

    27/05/2021 Duración: 44min

Call the exterminator (or a priest) cause this episode has a Ghost-Problem!! That's my way of saying - we both have ghost stories this week!!! Sarah starts us out with Prospect Place in Ohio. This 29 room mansion was a stop on the Underground Railway, and the last stop for one unfortunate bounty hunter. An angry racist ghost, a young girl who plays in the ballroom, and countless other spirits call Prospect Place their forever home. Stephanie wraps up with a story from Sarah's home state - the tale of the Headless Horseman of South Texas. We know some of the history is true, but even if the rest is fake it sure makes one hell of a story.

  • E157 Good Golly Miss Molly

    20/05/2021 Duración: 48min

This is one loaded-cookie of an episode! And that's because it's an All-Stephanie episode!! This week is all about the two storiez Stephanie has to tell - it's double the storiez, double the Stephanie, Double The Fun!!! The first story is about a spooky almost-ghost town in Pennsylvania called "Centralia". What was once a small coal mining town is now inhabited by only 11 people (and it was the inspiration for "Silent Hill"!). And get ready, because the second story is one roller coaster of a ride. Not only is it about our (easily forgotten) Northern-most state Alaska: it also features gossip, booze-cookies, and some juicy voicemails! It's definitely an episode you DON'T want to miss!
