Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. The guys asked Ray his latest thoughts on the Steelers draft plan. He expects the center to be picked on the second night instead of 20th overall. If they stay at 51st overall, Ray thinks they could go best player available instead of a pressing need. What are the odds Nate Herbig ends up being this team’s starting center? The guys asked Ray about corner prospects and what they want to build in the defensive backfield. 

What will happen tonight if there is save situation for the Pirates in Philly? Derek Shelton told Joe Starkey that it will still be David Bednar in that role and not Aroldis Chapman. The guys aren’t thrilled with that call. What happens he blows another save and it costs the Pirates another game? Is this a move that helps teams win games? What’s the ideal scenario for letting Bednar finish the game? 

Hour 3: We checked in on The Master’s. The guys also dove into what is going on with Shohei Ohtani and the latest with the translator gambling story.  Steve Palazzolo from Pro Football Focus joined the show. Steve got into the tackle prospects and who he likes the most out of that group. Could the Steelers go back to the Georgia well with Amarius Mims at 20th overall? Steve thinks Jackson Powers-Johnson is a fantastic prospect and would be a great fit for the Steelers. Steve explained what he sees with Graham Barton. Hour 2: One of the most polarizing figures in sports history, OJ Simpson, passed away today at the age of 76 due to cancer. The guys talked about their experience as kids witnessing the OJ chase and trial, and everything that came in the aftermath.  KDKA TV legend Bob Pompeani joined the show. Bob described what he was doing on the day of the infamous OJ Simpson police chase and arrest. Bob explained what a star OJ was in his prime and post playing career before the alleged slaying of his wife and another man. The guys shifted the discussion to hockey and if Bob thinks the Penguins can make the playoffs with 4 games left. The guys also wanted to get Bob’s thoughts on The Master’s, which got underway earlier today.  Former NFLer turned analyst Geoff Schwartz joined the show. He said there isn’t much to dislike with JPJ beyond the injury history and lack of games at the center position. Geoff explained the positives and negatives of Powers-Johnson. The guys asked Geoff why Powers-Johnson has been sliding down some draft boards and a couple other interior OLs are in the discussion. He thinks he’s a perfect fit for the Steelers and tried ranking the centers on the board right now. The guys asked Geoff about tackle prospects that could be available for the Steelers at 20th overall.

The guys reminisced about the big matchups of the past, including the 2008 and 2009 Stanley Cup Finals, with each team winning one.  Fans shared Penguins-Red Wings memories.  Pepperdine assistant basketball coach Jeremy Grubbs joined the show. Jeremy is a Pittsburgh native that is high school friends with Neil Walker from their days at Pine Richland. The guys asked Jeremy about the Pitt basketball team in 2009, which Jeremy was on the coaching staff for with Jamie Dixon. The guys brought up some of the key players on that ’09 team. Jeremy had a wild, but enticing suggestion for Kentucky basketball – Rick Pitino. Jeremy named the coaches he liked and disliked facing the most.

The guys asked Mike about Cam Sutton and if the Steelers, or another team, should take a chance on him following his arrest, but lack of charges. Is there any more fire to the Brandon Aiyuk trade rumors? Mike could see 5-6 QBs being off the board in the first 20 picks of the draft. The guys asked Mike about the value in positions along the offensive line. Mike took in the eclipse on Monday and enjoyed it.
