In John 15, Jesus talks about the parable of the lost sheep, and the lost coin. The sheep and the coin did nothing bad to get lost, they just did. Sometimes we just get lost and end up in a bad place, but the good news is that Jesus is actively searching us out. This week Pastor Eric jumps back into John 15 and goes deeper into the idea of Jesus pruning the wild branches of the believer. Pruned plants actually produce the healthiest fruit. In Scripture Jesus says that He is the vine, and that we are the branches. He also says that he prunes His branches. Sometimes this verse gets interpreted in a negative way. That somehow Jesus would bring pain into our lives. God has created each of us in a uniquely beautiful way. We have gifts and interests in life that make us who we are. Being that God created us, these attributes of us should make the Lord proud of us, as we exercise them. But somewhere along the way, we have learned shame. Shame that maybe we are sinful, or maybe our gifts and interests are not pure, or prideful, so out of religious guilt, we have learned to put a veil over our gifts. Join in as we talk about the beauty of the way God created you, and learn to be free to walk in the way Jesus created us to be. Support the show

Join us for part two of Eric’ message from the book of John. Jesus is speaking to the woman at the well, and has offered her living water. Jesus says it can well up in us to overflowing. Later in John Jesus says that He is making us into a new creation. What if the new creation that Jesus spoke of is the living water bubbling over in us. What if the living water is not just an overflow of us, but an actual “new creation”. What if the new creation is not just a newer better version of ourselves, but an “actual” new version of us. Join us this week as Norma speaks about trusting God with our finances. There is a difference between giving because of the law, and giving as a principal. Giving in the bible is a principal. With principals, weather you understand it or not, it works. There is no denying it, it will work weather or not you believe in it, or not. Listen in as Eric talks about transparency, and how it can be a tool to learn to walk with character. Are we as a church open to being transparent with where we are at? Our character will not develop if we don’t look at our issues and understand where we are at. Instead of ignoring them, we should choose to look them and choose to to grow. The purpose of healthy character is to serve others around us just like Jesus did. Lets learn to be a community where transparency is applauded, and our growth process is encouraged.Support the show
