Elihu - Are you listening?
21/08/2025 Duración: 48minIn Job 33, Elihu—the youngest of Job’s companions—steps forward with a message that is both bold and compassionate. Unlike the others, Elihu corrects Job with humility, reminding him of God’s greatness and pointing him back to the truth. In many ways, Elihu foreshadows Christ as he speaks of a mediator who can stand between God and man. This sermon explores how Elihu becomes a true friend to Job, offering correction with kindness, and how his words echo God’s purpose for suffering in the believer’s life. Through this narrative, we are reminded that even in the darkest valleys, God is shaping us, refining us, and drawing us closer to Him.Dig deep with us into the story of Job and discover how God uses suffering not as punishment, but as preparation—for faith, growth, and hope in His plan.To learn more about RiverSide Church follow our link!https://linktr.ee/attheriver

Zophar - Truth Without Love: The Danger of Harsh Counsel
08/08/2025 Duración: 49minIn Job 12, we meet Zophar—the youngest, most ruthless, and most merciless of Job’s so-called friends. His words cut deep, offering no comfort, no compassion—only criticism. Zophar is convinced Job’s suffering is proof of hidden sin, and that repentance would immediately solve everything. But there’s a problem: if Job were to “fake repent” just to end the pain, he would be proving Satan’s accusation true—that people only serve God for blessings. This message peels back the layers of the conversation to show the bigger picture: the unseen battle between God and Satan, and the truth that God’s goodness is not dependent on our circumstances.Zophar should have pointed Job to hope, not condemnation. The lesson is clear—don’t be a Zophar. Be the friend who reminds others of God’s goodness even when life looks anything but good. This episode is part of our ongoing series through the book of Job. Listen to the full series and learn how to speak truth with grace, stand firm in suffering, and walk faithfully with those wh

Job 10 - Job's suffering and sighing
31/07/2025 Duración: 41minIn Job 10, we witness the deep emotional and spiritual pain Job is experiencing. Rather than offering comfort or pointing him back to God, his friends respond with harsh accusations and judgment. In this moment, Job doesn’t need correction—he needs compassion. He needs someone to sit with him, weep with him, and help restore his faith. In this powerful sermon, Pastor Kevin highlights not only Job’s suffering but also addresses how, in today's culture, secular voices have taken on the role that pastors once held.Grab your Bible and join us as we dive into this raw and relevant chapter of Job.

“The Tradition Trap: Bildad’s Cold Theology”
24/07/2025 Duración: 47minIn this exegesis-style sermon on Job 8, we take a deep dive into the sharp and often cold words of Bildad the Shuhite, one of Job’s so-called friends. Bildad doesn’t waste time offering comfort—he comes in swinging, accusing Job of hidden sin and boldly claiming that Job’s children may have deserved their fate. But what’s driving this harsh approach? This message unpacks Bildad’s philosophy, how he leans heavily on history and tradition as his authority, and how he distorts truth in the name of religion. He offers no grace—only rigid logic and generational dogma. As we examine his worldview, we’ll uncover what happens when people speak truth without love, and how easy it is to weaponize theology against the suffering. One quote from this sermon captures the heart of the message:“To counterfeit friendship is worse than counterfeiting money!” – Thomas WatsonBeing a faithful friend is biblical. So is suffering. The question is—are we learning to walk through both faithfully? This episode is part of a larger series

Job 4, 5, 15, & 22 Eliphaz: The Friend Who Misses the Mark
17/07/2025 Duración: 53minIn this episode, we dive into the first speeches of Eliphaz in the Book of Job. Eliphaz comes in with a bold worldview shaped by personal experience and a philosophy that sounds wise on the surface—but is deeply flawed. While he speaks some truth, he often delivers half-truths without compassion or timing, lacking any sense of tact.Shockingly, Eliphaz even goes so far as to imply that Job's children died because of hidden sin—an accusation that is both cruel and false. Instead of offering comfort, he lumps Job in with the wicked, saying in effect, "You sowed sin, now you're reaping destruction."Eliphaz’s errors don’t stop there. He claims secret revelations from spirits as the basis for his counsel—spiritual experiences that should raise serious red flags for anyone studying this text. As you listen, take note: worldly wisdom, arrogance, and unfounded assumptions have no place in true friendship or godly counsel.Let Eliphaz be a warning: Don’t speak where you have no understanding, and don’t

Job 3: When Darkness Speaks — An Exegesis of Suffering and Lament
21/06/2025 Duración: 52minIn this deeply reflective episode, we turn to one of the rawest and most human moments in Scripture—Job 3. Through careful exegesis, Pastor Kevin walks us verse by verse through Job’s anguished lament as he breaks his silence and curses the day of his birth. Why does Job—described as a righteous man—give voice to such despair? What can we learn about the nature of suffering, human vulnerability, and faith in the darkest seasons of life? We’ll explore the literary structure of the chapter, its rich poetic imagery, and the theological implications of lament within a life of faith. This sermon invites listeners to wrestle honestly with sorrow and to find hope, not in easy answers, but in the God who hears us when words fail.Join us with an open Bible and an open heart as we journey through Job 3 together.

Sit in the ashes with me.... (Book of Job)
12/06/2025 Duración: 54minContinuing where we left off in the Book of Job, we now witness the heavenly scene unfolding with real consequences on earth.Job has lost nearly everything—his family, his wealth, and now, even his health. He sits in ashes, not in despair, but in worship. There's no pity party, no accusations—only reverence.Clutching nothing but a broken piece of pottery to scrape his sores, he likely thanks God even for that. In this moment, Job embodies true worship—worship that doesn't depend on comfort, circumstance, or material blessing. How often do we struggle to give thanks even from within our comfortable homes and with relative health? Yet Job praises God from the ash heap. Perhaps there's more to learn from the ashes than from the abundance.Grab your Bible, and let’s study together.

Get up and Walk!! (Powerful Sermon on John 5)
26/02/2025 Duración: 26minAt the pool of bethesda, the scribes, Pharisees and the lawyers couldn't help the man laying beside the pool. However none of the people could help him ultimately! That is until Jesus comes to the pool and tells the man to get up and WALK! Have you tried to find healing through the people all around you? Only to figure out they are just as broken as you are? Reach out and grab the helm of Jesus' garment, as the master comes near. He is the only one who can help you! Doubling Down - Jesus is GOD!
14/02/2025 Duración: 27minUsing, *gasp*, logic! Have you ever considered why Jesus was crucified? Was it the feeding the 5k of people at once? Was it the healing of the blind or causing the lame to walk again? No, it was none of those reasons. It was because he claimed to be God in the flesh. Grab your bible viewer and lets investigate these claims and examine this portion of scripture that points to the divinity of Jesus Christ. Who knows you might even "double down" yourself and stake your claim that Jesus is who he claims to be!RiverSide Church3045 Richardson Bridge RdPrinceton NCSunday Morning at 10 am.Sunday Afternoon at 6 pm.Wednesday Night at 7 pm.https://linktr.ee/attheriverTo watch the video of this podcast click --> https://youtu.be/eynct1w0kCk#church #localchurch #princetonnc #goldsboronc #faith #christianchurch #biblestudy #biblechurch #churchservice #WorshipTogether #theriver #attheriver #riversidechurch#faith
