What About Now?

We're back after a long break to discuss Disney vs. DeSantis and other Florida happenings, as well as Darin conceding our bet regarding the arrest of Donald Trump. There's lots of stories about Ted's trip to Costa Rica and Darin's adventures at Megacon and in Scotland. Plus, plenty of 2022 review lightning rounds and predictions for 2023, and personal stories about our music projects and our kids outsmarting us.

We start the new year with a podcast recorded in mid-December! In our debut episode as part of the Diamond Podcast Network, we discuss the Omicron variant of COVID19, and meander through a discussion of moviegoing during the pandemic. Segments include an extended 2021 In Memoriam and Darin's Quick Movie Reviews of Ghostbusters:Afterlife and Little Nicky. We end with a story about dolphins.

Back after a ridiculously long break, we discuss our experiences with COVID19 and the effects of taking the vaccine. After Darin enjoys a popular drink from the 1980's, a current events lightning round leads to a discussion of the events of January 6. Finally, a quick story about hooking up a television!

Back after way too long, we discuss the ongoing presidential election craziness, and make predictions for 2021, which leads to a bet between the hosts. Plus, a story of Ted going apple picking! The show was recorded just a few minutes after the impeachment vote, so we open with an impeachment discussion for our Trending Topic segment. Plus, the In Memoriam segment leads to an in-depth review of Steve Martin's work, as well as a secret from Darin's past. In addition, we cover Ted's recent trips to Memphis and Chicago, and Darin leads a discussion on internet streaming habits in our By the Numbers segment. Finally, we close with the long-delayed story of Ted's stressful visits to the DC Wharf!

From the Democratic debates to the border crisis, politics take center stage in this episode! We also discuss the major SCOTUS rulings, leading to a radical proposal to reshape the electoral map. This episode is the post-Avengers:Endgame episode, with a brief spoiler-free review, and a discussion of Darin's attempts to avoid spoilers and the resulting bet between the hosts. Plus, the brand new Follow-Up segment includes a discussion of the recent Sri Lankan bombings and talk of sacrifice for the greater good. If all that wasn't enough, we close the show with dueling stories of Darin's trip to Disney and Ted's trip to Fort Lauderdale.

Recorded before the release of the Mueller report, this episode has the hosts discussing the Attorney General's 4-page non-summary. But while everyone is now talking about the redacted Mueller report, we discuss the secret unredacted version! Also, Darin recounts his recent and not-so-recent trips to the smoky mountains of Tennessee, and we test out our new temporary Listener Prime! It's our long-delayed post-election episode, recorded in late November but unpublished until now due to circumstances beyond our control. We also explore our respective Thanksgiving adventures in New Jersey and at EPCOT, and have In Memoriam, Weird Science, and Asian Domination segments. We wrap things up with a report on Ted's vasectomy.

It's right before Halloween, and we briefly take a serious tone as we try to get our heads around all of the mass shootings, but quickly return to the comedy for our new Asian Domination segment. We close things out with a long discussion of cleaning an ailing mother-in-law's house, which leads to a joke repeat, as well as our new Manilow Rants segment.
