(Luke 4:14-30) Jesus' mission was all about the Good News. Sadly, today that good news often gets lost in translation.

(Luke 3&4) We all face temptations. But if we can stop for a moment and realize what's really going on, we can win the battle.

(Luke 1&2)  Luke begins writing his gospel after having "carefully investigated everything from the beginning", which means he did his homework. He interviewed eyewitnesses, he followed leads, he talked with those who actually experienced Jesus' life among them. Likely, he interviewd Mary, the mother of Jesus. How else would he know such detail of how she felt & what she thought at the time. One of the things he discovered about Mary is that she thought a lot about these things and their implications. Mary's song gives us a hint at the things she pondered. 

(Luke) If we are to become whole-hearted followers of Jesus, we really need to get to know the Jesus we are following.

This years's trip to Uganda In early August 2012 forever changed the lives of the 18 people that went. Many left with no real idea what it would be like to meet the people of the villages Northgate supports through the sponsorship of children who are in real need and in the building of new wells that now supply clean water to many nearby villages through the efforts of Hope for Kids, International. A number of those who went are featured on this recording as they recall some of the many ways God revealed himself to them on their trip.

Quite often when we read stories in the Old Tetament we tend to skip over seemingly unimportant details because we can't quickly understand them. In this important message, Pastor Jesse Peterson challenges us to dive deeper into the pool of understanding when it comes to the Old Testament. Often it simply comes down to putting the passages through the dual lens of Covenants and Context. 

(John 3:16) Steve Davidson brings a message that deals with a difficult topic: Genuine Forgiveness. Steve recommends that we make the following truth an integral part of our life: "I am learning how much God loves me and wants to forgive me so that I can more easliy forgive people who wrong me."

(Colossians 3:1-14) Most everybody says they want to go to heaven but nobody's in a hurry to get there. We wonder what happens when we die.

(Hebrews 1:1-3; 11:6) Scripture says that without faith it's impossible to please God. Why is that so? Why doesn't He give us more proof?

(Mark 5)  Pastor Larry Davis delivers this weeks message about understanding God's will for your life in a unique and entertaining way. Using contemporary video references, he draws pictures of what it must have been like to be standing near Jesus as he brings healing to those most in need. 

(Romans 8:18-39) Life in this world is filled with suffering and evil seems to be all around. Why doesn't God do something about it?

(2 Timothy 3:14-17; Psalm 119) Faith, by its very nature, also includes uncertainty. Because we aren't given all the answers we wll always be left with some questions. But questions can lead us to a deeper, greater faith if we are willing to pursue the answers. And while we may not get all of our questions answered, by asking questions we can expand our understanding and the reasons for our faith.

(2 Peter 1:1-9) Faith is often portrayed as the opposite of knowledge. But the two have far more in common than we might think.

(John 14: 1-6) What appears at first glance to be a narrow and exclusive claim turns out to be the most open and inclusive of all.

(Romans) While all religions may share some commonalities, they do not all believe the same things.

(John 21:9, 12, 14) Inviting someone to come to church is a lot like asking a dating partner to meet your family. Both experiences involve vulnerability, risk, fear, and many other feelings. Rarely does a relationship move towards marriage without meeting the family. In the same way, a person's relationship with Jesus Christ can only grow so much without meeting the family (church). 

(Ephesians 4:17-24; Hebrews 10:26-28;James 1:13-18) One of the most pervasive sins throughout our culture is the plague of pornography. Like all sin it takes its toll in many areas of individual lives. And, like all sin, it has a pathology. In this weeks message Pastor Larry takes a look at how sin gets a hold of our lives and how we can break free.

(Ephesians 5:21-33) Marriage is hard because love is hard. What makes the so hard is our selfishness. God, who is pure love, knows that to truly experience love we need to let go of our own self-interest and give ourselves fully to one another. Christ's example not only shows us how but empowers us to be able to give and receive such love.

(1 Corinthians 6: 2 Corinthians 6; 1 Peter 3) God created us as complete beings-physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual. Our sexuality is only part of the whole package. To develop true oneness means growing into intimacy in every aspect of our lives. As we bring all the parts together in intimacy each individual aspect thrives in its own way. 

(Ephesians 5:21-33) God created us as complete beings - physical, emotional, and spiritual. Our sexuality is a gift from God, designed to be enjoyed as the fulfillment of an intentional, committed relationship. We need to have a clear understanding of why God created sex, what He intended it to be and why He set boundaries around it for our ulitimate benefit.
