Who is at the top of your frustrations list when it comes to the Pirates? It feels like Ben Cherington is even more at fault than the owner because the money that is spent is spent poorly. What if he made another mistake and drafted Dylan Crews (like Mullsy wanted) instead of Paul Skenes? Donny defended Neal Huntington for what he accomplished by the 6th year of his tenure, which was 2013. It’s staggering that Cherington got the Skenes draft pick correct, but has been so bad at everything else.

An embarrassing weekend at PNC Park with the Pirates being swept by the White Sox by a combined score of 27-7. The White Sox went into the series as the second-worst team in baseball by record. The Pirates didn’t look like they belonged on the same field. After the 6-game win streak, the Pirates have won just 1 of their last 10 games. And what happened to this team playing harder for Don Kelly? The Paul Skenes draft pick now looks like a curse because of how much they have fumbled the situation. Steelers correspondent Mark Kaboly from The Pat McAfee Show joined the show. Mark defended his take that the Steelers had a ‘perfect’ offseason. Mark said they, mostly, accomplished everything they wanted to do. Mark gave his reaction to the TJ Watt signing and how the Steelers avoided 4-5 guaranteed years. Mark looked at this deal versus the one Myles Garrett received from the Browns. Mark thinks the Steelers can get ahead of things this season with Watt, even though he doesn’t think a holdout would have impacted Watt’s production. Mark said moving Watt around on defense will be a key to furthering his longevity. More w/ Mark – Mark believes the TJ Watt ankle injury was worse than what we were hearing late in the season, which impacted him heavily down the stretch. The conversation again went to Watt moving around the defense and how that could lead to a big 2025. If Aaron Rodgers was still MVP caliber, he would not have been available for cheap. A lot of things have to go right for the Steelers to be “significantly better”. TJ Watt has signed his extension with the Steelers. One of the biggest radio hosts in America thinks it’s more of the same from the Steelers – spending on defense, scraps on offense. Chris agreed. He pointed out that the Eagles spend so little on their defense and they are the best-run team in the league. When can the Steelers flip that narrative?
