On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in David Lasseter to the show to break down the Panthers 5-3 win over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 5, where the Panthers had to do it in comeback fashion. The Panthers had a sloppy first period where the goals ended up in the back of their net after poor passes in the neutral zone. The Panthers woke up in the second period with three goals in three shots in less than five minute span, including a goal that ended a drought of 10 power play opportunities without scoring, and Evan Rodrigues getting his first goal of the postseason, which makes it now 19 different goal scorers for the Panthers. Although the Canes tied it off a poor backhand pass from Gustav Forsling, Panthers Captain Aleskander Barkov fought off a check from Carolina and had a wonderful set up to Carter Verhaeghe, which ended up as the winner. Florida then capitalized on the empty netter where it was a lot of zone time, but only one shot on net on

The Cats made a push toward the end, but were unable to find the back of the net, and their personnel on the power play raised a lot of questions, despite missing a key piece in Sam Reinhart. On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Florida Panthers Historian, Francisco Oporta(@FLACatsHistory) to break down the Panthers 6-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final. The two discuss how the Carolina Hurricanes gave the Cats quite the challenge in the first 40, where they were already without Sam Reinhart, and had to go the final 40+ minutes without Eetu Luostarinen after receiving a five-minute major and a game misconduct for boarding Jackson Blake. Although the Cats got the kill, Carolina scored later in the period, and it was a tie game to begin the final frame. The Panthers used a 9:08 stretch in the game to score five times, where the Panthers got their chances off the rush after Carolina was unable to exit their end cleanly, Florida ended up taking advantage of multiple chances off the rush. On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) for another edition of Fairbanks Friday, as the Panthers got out to a 2-0 series lead after defeating the Carolina Hurricanes by a final of 5-0. The second line set the tone for the Cats they their forecheck was a force, created the first two goals. Now Gustav Forsling has joined in on the scoring as now it's 18 different goal scorers for them in 14 playoff games. The Cats got the best out of Andrei Svechnikov as he committed the turnovers that led to the first two goals, along with going to the box after an unnecessary roughing call on Matthew Tkachuk that the Panthers converted on the power play. The Canes looked to have cut it to a 3-1 deficit, but the Panthers bought time by using a timeout to look at the replay again where it was Brent Burns who touched the puck as it re-entered the Panthers zone, and before Carolina could tag up at the blue line, it was ruled an offside. The two break down the Panthers' 5-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final. The Panthers were risk profile was pretty high when it came to getting their defense to jump up in the play, but thankfully early stops by Sergei Bobrovsky was able to make stops right before Carter Verhaeghe capitalized on the power play. On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in David Lasseter to recap the Panthers 6-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs as the Panthers were ready from the jump with getting the first 20+ shot attempts and they swamed the Leafs. Although the Leafs tiled the ice after their first shot 12 minutes in, it was a 0-0 game heading into the second. Florida's blue line was pretty leaky at the end of the first where the Leafs bottom six got their chances off the rush, but the Panthers were able to keep it scoreless. The floodgates started to open in the second period, starting with a goal off the rush by Seth Jones, where he would also get an assist on a high hockey IQ play where he prevented the play from being offside as the Panthers started to pour it on. The Cats were slow out of the gate getting two shots on goal in the first and going the final 14 minutes of the first. the Panthers tilted the ice getting the first 10 shots of the period, but unable to convert. It was once again the issues in games one and two that came to life in game 6 as the Leafs got their chances on the rush, as it resulted in the two third period goals. On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Alex Donno(@AlexDonno) from the Florida Panthers Radio Network and Locked On Canes to the show to break down the Panthers' 6-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs to take a 3-2 series lead back to Sunrise. The Panthers made a lineup change with bringing in Jesper Boqvist into the lineup, and after a tight first few minutes, the game started opening up and the Panthers started controlling the play, where they were able to help produce the first goal by Aaron Ekblad. It didn't stop there as the Panthers killed off Toronto's PP chance to start the second period and from there began the onslaught with three second period goals as the Leafs consistently broke the puck out poorly. The Panthers added some additional offensive zone time and it result in more goals ending up in the back of their net, including Jesper Boqvist's first career playoff goal off a 3-on-2. The Panthers were dominant from start to finish and were able to have the ice tilted in their favor as the Leafs shot themselves in the foot with penalties early on. It took the Panthers a while to get their power play going, but Matthew Tkachuk found Verhaeghe on a backdoor pass and Verhaeghe as the Cats got the first lead of the game. Florida trailed twice, 2-0 and 3-1, but three second period goals had the Panthers going into the third period with a lead. Florida was able to eliminate the Leafs speed in the second and third period and it helped them get to their game. A bounce that deflected off of Seth Jones and into the net had the Leafs forcing overtime.
