  • The Florida Panthers are back in the SCF after a comeback win in Game 5 against the Hurricanes!

    29/05/2025 Duración: 41min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in David Lasseter to the show to break down the Panthers 5-3 win over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 5, where the Panthers had to do it in comeback fashion. The Panthers had a sloppy first period where the goals ended up in the back of their net after poor passes in the neutral zone. The Panthers woke up in the second period with three goals in three shots in less than five minute span, including a goal that ended a drought of 10 power play opportunities without scoring, and Evan Rodrigues getting his first goal of the postseason, which makes it now 19 different goal scorers for the Panthers. Although the Canes tied it off a poor backhand pass from Gustav Forsling, Panthers Captain Aleskander Barkov fought off a check from Carolina and had a wonderful set up to Carter Verhaeghe, which ended up as the winner. Florida then capitalized on the empty netter where it was a lot of zone time, but only one shot on net on

  • Panthers were unable to match the Hurricanes desperation in Game 4.

    27/05/2025 Duración: 36min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Jackson Holzer(@JacksonH_52) to the show to break down the Panthers 3-0 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final, where Carolina's desperation showed with them getting back to their identity of owning the possession metrics, it was a tie game going into the second, but Carolina got a score after a stretch pass to Logan Stankovan that beat Sergei Bobrovsky over the should and in. The Cats made a push toward the end, but were unable to find the back of the net, and their personnel on the power play raised a lot of questions, despite missing a key piece in Sam Reinhart. The key for Carolina was breaking up plays in the middle of the ice to prevent quality opportunities for Florida, and it resulted in a win. The guys give their three duds, when they knew the game was lost, and also provide a vibe check from themselves and the team following the defeat. We discuss all of this and mor

  • Panthers Exploded for 5 third period goals to break game three open! Now one win away from the SCF

    25/05/2025 Duración: 37min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Florida Panthers Historian, Francisco Oporta(@FLACatsHistory) to break down the Panthers 6-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final. The two discuss how the Carolina Hurricanes gave the Cats quite the challenge in the first 40, where they were already without Sam Reinhart, and had to go the final 40+ minutes without Eetu Luostarinen after receiving a five-minute major and a game misconduct for boarding Jackson Blake. Although the Cats got the kill, Carolina scored later in the period, and it was a tie game to begin the final frame. The Panthers used a 9:08 stretch in the game to score five times, where the Panthers got their chances off the rush after Carolina was unable to exit their end cleanly, Florida ended up taking advantage of multiple chances off the rush. The guys give their three stars of the game, when they knew the game was won, and discuss the culture clashes bet

  • Panthers Attacked the Hurricanes Early in the first, blew it open and now have a 2-0 series lead

    23/05/2025 Duración: 34min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) for another edition of Fairbanks Friday, as the Panthers got out to a 2-0 series lead after defeating the Carolina Hurricanes by a final of 5-0. The second line set the tone for the Cats they their forecheck was a force, created the first two goals. Now Gustav Forsling has joined in on the scoring as now it's 18 different goal scorers for them in 14 playoff games. The Cats got the best out of Andrei Svechnikov as he committed the turnovers that led to the first two goals, along with going to the box after an unnecessary roughing call on Matthew Tkachuk that the Panthers converted on the power play. The Canes looked to have cut it to a 3-1 deficit, but the Panthers bought time by using a timeout to look at the replay again where it was Brent Burns who touched the puck as it re-entered the Panthers zone, and before Carolina could tag up at the blue line, it was ruled an offside. 22/05/2025 Duración: 34min

  • Panthers took Game 1 in Raleigh as they beat the Canes in their supposed areas of strength

    21/05/2025 Duración: 36min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Jacob Winans(@JacobWinans8) for another edition of Winans Wednesday. The two break down the Panthers' 5-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final. The Panthers were risk profile was pretty high when it came to getting their defense to jump up in the play, but thankfully early stops by Sergei Bobrovsky was able to make stops right before Carter Verhaeghe capitalized on the power play. The Panthers were able to capitalize on Carolina's mistakes as veteran Jordan Staal heard footsteps from Evan Rodrigues, which resulted in a giveaway that ended up in the back of the net, along with a delay of game penalty in the third that resulted in another power play goal. The Hurricanes only gave up two on the penalty kill in the playoffs before Tuesday night, and the Panthers matched it in one game. Also, the Canes' rush defense was number one going into the ECF, but the Panthers scored a bi

  • Panthers manhandle the Leafs in Game 7 as the trade deadline acquisitions were the difference!

    19/05/2025 Duración: 37min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in David Lasseter to recap the Panthers 6-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs as the Panthers were ready from the jump with getting the first 20+ shot attempts and they swamed the Leafs. Although the Leafs tiled the ice after their first shot 12 minutes in, it was a 0-0 game heading into the second. Florida's blue line was pretty leaky at the end of the first where the Leafs bottom six got their chances off the rush, but the Panthers were able to keep it scoreless. The floodgates started to open in the second period, starting with a goal off the rush by Seth Jones, where he would also get an assist on a high hockey IQ play where he prevented the play from being offside as the Panthers started to pour it on. Another trade acquisition in Brad Marchand got involved in the game, where he is used to playing the Leafs in a Game 7, and he made his mark as the Cats continued to come in waves with their on-puck pressure in

  • An uninspiring performance by the Panthers at home as the Leafs have forced a game 7.

    17/05/2025 Duración: 27min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to break down the Panthers' 2-0 loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs as now there will be a game 7. The Cats were slow out of the gate getting two shots on goal in the first and going the final 14 minutes of the first. the Panthers tilted the ice getting the first 10 shots of the period, but unable to convert. It was once again the issues in games one and two that came to life in game 6 as the Leafs got their chances on the rush, as it resulted in the two third period goals. The Panthers were not able to make Joseph Woll's life difficult and now will have to go on the road again in order to advance to the conference final. We give our three duds of the game, when we knew the game was lost, and set you up for Game 7 on Sunday. • Panthers blew the Leafs out of their own building, take a 3-2 series lead Heading back to Sunrise!

    15/05/2025 Duración: 33min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Alex Donno(@AlexDonno) from the Florida Panthers Radio Network and Locked On Canes to the show to break down the Panthers' 6-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs to take a 3-2 series lead back to Sunrise. The Panthers made a lineup change with bringing in Jesper Boqvist into the lineup, and after a tight first few minutes, the game started opening up and the Panthers started controlling the play, where they were able to help produce the first goal by Aaron Ekblad. It didn't stop there as the Panthers killed off Toronto's PP chance to start the second period and from there began the onslaught with three second period goals as the Leafs consistently broke the puck out poorly. The Panthers added some additional offensive zone time and it result in more goals ending up in the back of their net, including Jesper Boqvist's first career playoff goal off a 3-on-2. That was also his first goal since January 25th. Florida

  • Game 5 feels like more than just a fresh start for the Panthers

    14/05/2025 Duración: 38min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Jacob Winans(@JacobWinans8) for another edition of Winans Wednesday to preview tonight's Game 5 between the Florida Panthers and the Toronto Maple Leafs. The two start off with the health of Evan Rodrigues, as he was seen on the ice during practice on Tuesday, but his game status is still a bit up in the air. Also the guys give their opinions on Max Domi receiving a $5,000 fine after boarding Aleksander Barkov at the end of game 4. Panthers Minority owner Doug Cifu has been suspended indefinitely by the NHL for his behavior on X toward a Leafs fan, the guys quickly discuss their thoughts on that along with discussing the state of the special teams through four games. Lastly, Florida comes into game five with a different look, the wingers in the top six are switched (assuming Rodrigues is able to play), and a whole new fourth line will see their first action in Toronto after getting inserted into game 3. Now it'

  • Panthers shutout Toronto as the Cats had full control from start to finish, will Domi get suspended?

    12/05/2025 Duración: 35min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is joined by Frank Rekas(@FrankRekas) to discuss the Panthers' 2-0 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 4 to tie the series at 2. The Panthers were dominant from start to finish and were able to have the ice tilted in their favor as the Leafs shot themselves in the foot with penalties early on. It took the Panthers a while to get their power play going, but Matthew Tkachuk found Verhaeghe on a backdoor pass and Verhaeghe as the Cats got the first lead of the game. Florida gave Toronto very little to work with as Sergei Bobrovsky didn't have much action on his end. Toronto had very little breakaway chances, where Bobrovsky was able to stop William Nylander on one, and Matthew Knies completely misses the net on the other. It was still a tightly contested game despite the shot discrepancy being in the Panthers favor, but a disruption in the neutral zone gave the Panthers a two goal lead midway through the third period as

  • Brad Marchand with the Heroics in Overtime as the Panthers Protected Home Ice!

    10/05/2025 Duración: 38min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Florida Panthers Historian, Francisco Oporta(@FLACatsHistory) to break down the Panthers' 5-4 OT win over the Toronto Maple Leafs as they cut the series to a 2-1 deficit. Florida trailed twice, 2-0 and 3-1, but three second period goals had the Panthers going into the third period with a lead. Florida was able to eliminate the Leafs speed in the second and third period and it helped them get to their game. A bounce that deflected off of Seth Jones and into the net had the Leafs forcing overtime. After the 10 minute mark in overtime, Florida was controlling play, and eventually it was Brad Marchand who ended it 15:27 into the first OT off the forecheck. All lines were a factor, including the fourth line where Maurice made a surprising lineup change ahead of the game putting in AJ Greer, Tomas Nosek and Jonah Gadjovich into the game, and it resulted in the go ahead goal in the second period. We discuss the three

  • Panthers Return Home for Game 3, Will Bobrovsky have a bounce back?

    09/05/2025 Duración: 35min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Nich Fairbanks(@prudentia0) for another edition of Fairbanks Friday. Nich provides a vibe check and discussion from the Panthers players on being comfortable while being down in a series. Is previous experience something worthy to point at. Also, was the league making an example out of Evan Rodrigues on the embellishment call from Game 2? The two also discuss their faith in Sergei Bobrovsky to bounce back and what adjustments must be made to prevent the chances off the rush. Lastly, what are the matches that we expect Maurice to put out there are the Panthers will get the last change as the series has shifted to South Florida.
