Nowadays, in conjunction with business partner Andy Trail, Stewart co-runs a Recruitment firm called Traill McKimmie, who specialise in the Oil and Gas industry. We begin by talking about how he got involved with this venture and how successful it has been for him. We then go all the way back to his fondest memories watching football growing up and his admiration for Leeds United, then where it all started for him at Dundee after he mistakenly signed for two Junior teams at the same time! After three years at Dens Park, Stewart was then signed by Aberdeen. In his second game, he picked up a European Super Cup winners medal after victory over Hamburg then he scored the winning goal against Hearts at Tynecastle that clinched the title, with the Scottish Cup completing the double following shortly afterwards. Six more major trophies would follow i

S11E13 Tartan Army Wanderer Special
07/09/2021 Duración: 02h04minFor our latest episode we are joined by long serving Tartan Army member Clark for some stories about his time following Scotland across the globe. He joins John, Erin and Scott to reflect on the game against Moldova and look ahead to a crucial game against Austria. As always we have plenty to discuss, there is still a concern in front of goal, are the tactics a bit too rigid and how much is it for a pie at Hampden? Clark is part of the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal which does tremendous work to help children wherever Scotland play. Check them out at www.tasunshineappeal.scot and if you have any good ideas with regards to fundraising then get in touch with them. He tells us about their event which took place on Friday with special guest Kevin Gallacher. An alternative Scotland eleven is selected from the Premiership clubs with one player having to be coach. He's the guy that makes us all laugh with his funny take on what is happening in Scottish football. He joins the John's, the Scott's and Erin in a really fun podcast to do but also with some good football chat and serious stuff too. The nation continues to be in shock as Erin continues to reveal some interesting food choices which seem to get more bizarre by the week. We discuss how our teams got on in Europe and that leads on to the Rangers v Celtic game on Sunday and how fine margins can make such a difference. There is brief chat on where Celtic still need to strengthen. Next week we will discuss the transfer window in more detail. S11E10 Women's Fans Special
26/08/2021 Duración: 01h16minIt's a welcome first for the podcast as there are FOUR women on one episode. The ladies all share their experiences in how they all got into football and why they chose following their respective clubs, with Katie adding how hers is a family day out as she takes both her kids to the Penny Cars Stadium. Stephanie tells us about her role in growing the Women's game at Falkirk, which leads to an interesting discussion about the Women's game in Scotland and, whilst there are significant improvements in the promotion of the game, the ladies all point out that there's still a long way to go. We then discuss the chauvinistic stereotypes about women in football, in particular pundits and coaches, and Natasha highlights her examples from appear

First up is returning guest Emma Hunter, Manager of Aberdeen Women. She led the Dons to a comprehensive SWPL2 title win with 16 wins from the 18 games played, and they are not in the top flight to make up the numbers as Emma points out the ambitions for the club going forward to push for a top half finish. With 15 of their 27 games being played away from home, something the club have challenged, Emma will be hoping that her girls are good travelers if they're to achieve their goals. We then chat to Motherwell captain Gill Inglis. After a difficult season, where 'Well finished 6th out of 8 in a campaign that saw them concede 78 goals, Gill explains a change in mentality this time out under the management of Paul Brownlie and player-assistant Leanne Crichton, who's experience will be valuable if 'Well are to avoid being in a

S11E6 The Joy of Six
10/08/2021 Duración: 02h02minFor our latest episode regulars John, Erin, Scott J and Scott M are joined by guest Harry the Hibee. We kick off the show by discussing European action and who we think will manage to progress to the next round. There were some impressive results with only Rangers losing. This continued at the weekend as Rangers lost their first league game since the 2019/20 season. Is there a sign that they are vulnerable or is it just a blip? At the top end of the table Aberdeen are in an Edinburgh sandwich which leads to some bizarre football food chat. Everyone knows we love a bit of pie chat but sandwiches are following close behind currently. The upcoming return to capacity crowds excites everyone with there being some debate on whether fans help or hinder a team's performance. Other chat includes our Scottish Championship best kit competition on Twitter, Fantasy Football and the frustration of squad rotation and Lower League predictions game. The podcast concludes with paying tribute to Leanne Ross who announced h

Dave begins by talking about his current role as Director at Global Sports Recruitment, which involves setting up young, aspiring athletes of many sports to go to America to take on scholarships. We then move onto Dave's first spell at Rangers which, although challenging for the club, was great for him in terms of establishing a boyhood dream by playing for the club week-in week-out. After two League Cups and a title win in Graeme Souness's first season at Ibrox, he moved to Hearts, and told us about how the Edinburgh derby compared to the Old Firm rivalry and how a few extra signings could've made the difference for a title push in 91/92. It was during his first spell at Tynecastle that Dave McPherson became a Scotland International, making his debut in a World Cup qualifier in 1989 against Cyprus at Hampden. He went onto play every game at Italia '90 a

S11E4 Football's Back (Domestic Bliss)
03/08/2021 Duración: 01h56minOn our latest episode, regulars John, Scott M and Tony are joined by debutant Colin. Colin is no stranger to a podcast as involved with Peterhead one along with being busy with their TV streaming service and writing about the beautiful game. It's a great week to have two Celtic fans on in a week that was pretty miserable for them but they try to take some of the positives and not be overly critical. We bounce between Europe and the League Cup with regards to it effectively being preseason for the majority of clubs. This leads to interesting discussion on whether we like group football or would prefer a return to knockout football from the off. Colin responds to predictions of Peterhead struggling this season and discusses the ambition of the club and the strength of community. The podcast concludes with some fantasy football chat, lower league predictions and random celebrity encounters with some surprising 3am DM's. 27/07/2021 Duración: 01h50minA new season is upon us with it being the most anticipated season in quite some time. Fans are back after a season which will be remembered for differing reasons. It wouldn’t be a season without pie chat and we’re quickly in to it with the introductions on the podcast. Surely no one cares about that when the real battle is for 8th place. We preview the upcomin

We did ask Scott if he would act as the Czech Republic representative but he passed. The discussion naturally focuses on the group so far as we discuss how our respective teams have done, what has gone well and what hasn't. As everyone knows going in to the last game any of the teams could qualify for the knockout stages. There is good natured banter between us all as we preview the final games in the group. S10E82 Scotland Schickened
15/06/2021 Duración: 01h48minOn our latest Euros special we have the two John's on, Scott and Ross who makes his second appearance on the podcast. Ross is in the process of writing a book about France '98 which we discuss towards the end of the podcast. Last week we were full of positivity and we've tried to stay on that journey despite the result against Czech Republic. There was hope and expectation but it was not to be. The guys discuss where it potentially went wrong in terms of selection, tactics and more. Maybe on another day we take our chances... There is plenty of laughter which seems bizarre and it surrounds food for a surprise. From a football point of view we need to remember that this is an inexperienced squad which seems to be constantly learning and reacting to situations. Can we cause a shock against the Auld Enemy? We select who we'd like to start. We discuss the tournament in general so far and who has impressed us plus what we are looking forward to. Tribute is paid to Motherwell fan Andy Paterson who was a recent

S10E81 Euros Extravaganza Preview
10/06/2021 Duración: 02h31minWe have a seven a side team that needs no introduction as we preview Euro 2020 but I'll give you one anyway. The two John's are joined by regulars from this season Donald, Scott and Tony plus Krys makes a welcome return and we have the star of Mr Brown's Boys in Iain from The Famous Tartan Army Magazine. It's been 23 years since we qualifies for a tournament but even longer since we were last in the Euros. Once again we've been paired with the Auld Enemy and some familiar faces in Croatia and Czech Republic. It's been that long since we last qualified that podcasts weren't even a thing. The podcast covers predictions in terms of who will line up for Scotland in the first game. Can we get past the group stage for the first time in our history? There is a belief around the players and fans that we can possibly do something special. Can we dare to dream? It's been a long journey and one that we didn't maybe believe would happen but we're a team which has been transformed under the leadership of Saint Steve as

S10E80 Euros Bonanza
06/06/2021 Duración: 02h22minIn the latest of our Euros preview specials, John has THREE guests on the one show as he is joined by Hampden Announcer Graeme Easton, Sky Sports News reporter Charles Paterson, and Scotland fan Neil Doherty, who has written a book based on Scotland's last major tournament adventure. We start by reviewing Scotland's 2-2 draw with Netherlands in the first of two pre-tournament warm up matches. The consensus is that Scotland could take many positives from the performance and why we can go into the tournament with no fear. Naturally, this leads us to thinking about the last Euro's we played at in Euro '96 and some of our earliest memories watching Scotland at a major finals, and why there is a belief that this crop can go one better than their sides of the past by reaching the knockout phases. Neil then tells us about his book, "World Cup 1998: Scotland's story", where he got the inspiration from, the research he put in and how deep he went into writing the story. He also gives an insight into going about prod

S10E79 Euros Commentators Special 2: Rory Hamilton
04/06/2021 Duración: 01h36sIn part two of our Euro's commentators special, John is joined by Rory Hamilton, Scotland's voice for BT and Premier Sports. Rory tells us all about his summer job, commentating on Scotland's games for STV at the Euro's. He talks about the honour of being asked to be the channels voice for the Finals, including the England v Scotland game being broadcast on STV, and how easy a decision it became when it was uncertain that fans could be at the tournament. Rory then goes into his memories of supporting Scotland at World Cup's and European Championships in the 90's, why it's taken us so long to qualify again, and what it was like for a man who followed Scotland abroad for 15 years to watch that moment at home with his dog. We then discuss Scotland's chances of doing well and getting rid of that "glorious failure" tag that irritates Rory before rounding off with Rory making some amendments to his best Scotland XI.
