A Mastermind is collaborative thinking and sharing.  Masterminding is the ultimate think tank to leverage best ideas fast, to motivate, and to create momentum. Mastermind groups can be among peers, or mixed with members at different levels in the game, or a mentor with those seeking the next level.   Mastermind groups show up in different formats and you may already be part of one, and not even realize it.  Bible studies, classrooms with teachers, membership in a Chamber or Commerce, or a project management team are all examples of masterminds.  The communal gathering and communication between groups of people on a similar journey, or working toward a similar goal. I will be 50 years old next year. I lost 30 pounds last year and I have another 30 more pounds to go, and I don’t want to wait another year to lose the next 30. In my past I was willing to starve, use OTCs, exercise 3 hours per day, etc – ALL the unhealthy stuff, to get an UNSUSTAINABLE outcome. Back then, it was all about how I looked.  Exercise was not a health strategy; exercise was the necessary torture to achieve a swimsuit body. Nutrition was all about calories.  As long as I stayed under 1200, it did not matter if they all came from sugar and french fries.  Any weight I lost was un-sustained. For me, a yo-yo was not a toy.  It was my way of life.  Anyone reading this can relate? Last year, I bought a Fitbit, and I did Pastor Rick Warren's The Daniel Plan.  I shared that with you here on Debt-Free Wealth Radio.  However, those efforts and strategies that helped me lose 30 pounds, are now only working to maintain my weight.  I am ready for the FAB dimension.  Such a place exists.  I used to live there

The Bible has a lot to say about business, money, leadership, and success.  I realized this when I was open to realizing it. Despite how much we earned, there was very little saved.  We racked up credit card debt because paying those cards were never a struggle.  Life was good.  Then the recession hit. It will be June in 2 weeks from today.  June is the 6th month of the year.  Half-way through and I wonder how many of you have stayed motivated, stayed on track to goals you set for yourself at the start of the year?  Whether you called them new year resolutions or not, there is a strong chance there were some goals set, even if they were set for you by a boss who gave you quotas to meet, or a Coach who gave you a road map to something. You decide on a goal, you know up front it is not going to happen overnight, yet somewhere along the way, you give up and go home.  Huh??? How do you stay motivated? How do you stay on track when your goal is still miles away from completion? Resting and reviewing is important. Just do not sit on that plateau and make that your new permanent level. Competition is healthy, but most often, it is handled in cut-throat style - which is VERY UNHEALTHY!  No one wins in a cut-throat competitive environment, not even the consumer!  On the surface, it manifests in dirt cheap prices, and the consumer seems to win as a result - however, that win comes at a very high price they feel on the back end - piss poor customer service, inferior products, and undelivered promises. Competion can and should raise the bar, not tank it in the toilet!  Healthy competition will cause entrepreneurs to upgrade the value they offer at the price offered, and frankly - that healthy competition tends to show up when collaboration is encouraged. No matter your paycheck, everyone dreams of their better life.  Waiting for that day to arrive, that day when you feel life is good, is so painful - that many simply swipe the credit card one more time and have that thing NOW!  This is for me the core reason for the massive debt in society.  Instant gratification! As I see it, you are not in debt because you have a criminal intent to take stuff you have no intention of paying for.  Instead, credit and debt seems like a welcome friend that says, "go ahead, and have it now - you can always pay later".  To much of that, and later becomes MUCH later, maybe even never. The goal is that upgrade, that thing that will bring you joy or an improved quality of life experience - NOW!  For some, that is moving from a 21 inch TV, to a 45 inch flat screen.  For some it means traveling first class instead of coach.  For some it means moving to a nicer neighborhood.  Lifestyle upgrade is a a term I coined to represent anything that improves your quality of life experience.
