We are constantly dreaming up new ideas for teaching, events, environment, etc. As we will find in this workshop, creativity has a lot to do with leadership, who you are, and who you have around you. Tammy has been married to her husband, Jesse, for over twenty years and has three children (Jessica, 18, Ashleigh, 16, and Jared, 13). Her family is her first place of ministry and her greatest joy. Tammy has served as the Northwest Ministry Network Girls Ministries Coordinator since 2004. Her enthusiasm to see the girls grow in their relationship with God is apparent as she works alongside a team of ladies who help make this vision a reality. She has been an activities director at Kids Camp for the past few years and never ceases to find enjoyment in making people play games! Shelly is currently the children’s pastor at Calvary Christian Assembly and lives in Seattle with her roommate, a cat, and a fish too.

They realize that when there are people around, there is bound to be conflict, and the best way to deal with conflict is head on. Conflict is not a bad thing when it’s managed well. In this workshop, we’ll look at strategies on how to manage conflict, and ways to use conflict to help better everyone involved.

Jeffery & Joanne have been serving in youth ministry for over 15 years. Since 2003, they have been working as the Northwest Ministry Network Youth Directors. Prior to their assignment as NYD, they worked in local Church Youth Ministry for 12 years, finishing at New Life Church in Renton where they continue to serve as Teaching Pastors. Jeffery and Joanne are both graduates of Northwest University. Their life purpose is to present hope and develop people. Their passions include developing leaders, preaching the life-transforming message of hope through Christ, missions across the street and around the world, and building life-long relationships. They enjoy time with extended family, athletics and travel. Jeffery & Joanne were married in 1993 and have two sons, Justus and Josiah.

Kevin and Tiffany have been serving in children’s ministries since 1996, and assumed the position as the Children’s Ministries Director for the Northwest Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God in 2003. Together, they have a passion to train and equip leaders to do the mission of God, and strategically present the hope of Christ to this world. Kevin and Tiffany serve together in full-time ministry as proud parents of their 3 children, Morgan (April 2001), Connor (February 2003), Meara (April 2005). And Kala (January 2009)

Healthy, balanced individuals create healthy balanced families, which create healthy balanced ministries. Pastor Gary Modine has been serving the children and families of Stone Church since 1997. He oversees the Children’s Ministries, which includes kids birth through 6th grade. Gary and his wife, Sheila, also lead the Family Life Ministry of Stone Church where they equip parents to be the primary source of encouragement in their children’s spiritual growth. Gary has a highly relational ministry style that naturally creates a lot of interaction between him and the children, as well as the parents. This helps him keep in touch with the way kids think and helps him to lead them. Gary and Sheila have two daughters and a son.

Transitions from classroom to classroom and department to department can be threatening for children. Change is never easy. This workshop will point out some of the concerns kids have about going to the next grade level in Children’s Ministry and making the transition to the youth program. We will also look at ideas for easing the anxieties of first time guests. Included in this workshop are some suggestions for ways to make these transitions flow more smoothly and make “graduation” a positive time for kids of all ages. Pastor Dixie Zahn grew up in the Olympia area and has worked in Children’s Ministries for over 30 years. She graduated from Seattle Bible College with a degree in Christian Education and in addition has an associate degree in Child and Human Development. Dixie is currently enrolled in a Masters program through the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.
