While Mosaic Church of Central Arkansas defends the fatherless every day, Orphan Sunday is the day we express our commitment to care for the child that has no family and to visit orphans in their distress. This year featured Little Rock Judge Mark Leverett. His own adoption story demonstrates how God is providentially involved in the life of every orphan. Using Romans 1:14-17, Dr. Perkins teaches how we should not be ashamed of the gospel and when we excel at loving one another well, it will change the world! History has proven that the most remarkable and attractive faith is the faith demonstrated when believers are willing to trust and worship God in the midst of overwhelming difficulty. This, in fact, can be one of the greatest indicators of Christ in us to the world. It’s unfortunate, but trials, difficulties and persecution can reveal the genuineness of our faith. As we will see in this message from Pastor Harry Li, God desires that our faith be genuine and there is no greater evidence of that than our ability to worship Him regardless of what we’re facing. Using Acts 16 as his backdrop, Pastor Harry presented this message on October 20, 2013 to Mosaic's Little Rock campus.

In the course of our calling to go and seek the “lost”, we must never forget the heart of the God who “draws” the unbeliever toward His will and way. The charge falls to us to present the truth of God to others, especially when it comes to repentance. Considering the call of Christ to Levi, to “follow Him” (Luke 5:27-32), we are challenged as “fellow followers” to reach outside of the “norms” of our lives to take the Gospel to the various cultures of the twenty-first century. The controversy created by Jesus’ to call a “tax collector” draws a clear distinction between “religion” and the Gospel and gives us a primary directive to press into others’ lives with relevance, love and purpose. In John 9, Jesus heals a man who was blind since birth. the response to this dramatic healing was very indicative of the spiritual blindness that exists not only back then, but today as well. In this sermon to Mosaic's Little Rock campus, Pastor Harry talks about how Jesus both demonstrated and then proclaimed the gospel and goes after the man that was healed after his neighbors, his church and even his own family were afraid to acknowledge the realities of Christ, characterizing their spiritual blindness. If they make the free throw, the entire play is called an "And1". In this first message of the new teaching series, Mark DeYmaz engages us with the Luke 15 text to outline the biblical expectations to add something of much greater value than an extra point to the score: extra people – our family, friends, neighbors - to Christ and to His church! Scripture has a lot to say about relationship, with a lot of truth spoken out of the book of Proverbs. In this third message on Communitas, Pastor Harry talks about our need to have a friend, but also, our need to be a friend. Communitas is developed as everyone learns not just how to receive friendship but how to extend oneself in a way that helps us live out the proverb that states, "a friend sharpens another." In message two of the Communitas series, Pastor Anthony encourages Mosaic to "Be the Church", a community of God's people, endowed by God's power, called to fulfill God's purposes in the earth. Strolling through the narrative of the early church in Acts chapter 4, Pastor Anthony challenged the congregation to be with Jesus, be with each other, pray together, Unify around the gospel as we preach the gospel and meet the needs of a lost culture. This message was presented at the Little Rock campus on August 11th.

In this first message of the new series, Communitas, Pastor Mark DeYmaz shares a fundamental truth: we all need community. In fact, the future health and maturity of the church depends on the body of Christ developing authentic relationships of transparency and trust with one another. If all we do is worship together on Sunday mornings, we miss the opportunity to grow as individuals in our understanding of God and His people. In this last sermon in the Walking Dead series, pastor Harry Li discusses the final dilemma that keeps us from being a walking dead person: The opposition of the World. He uses Col 4:2-6 as the backdrop to draw principles from Paul's own example and writings to encourage believers to engage the world, even when they are discouraging and in opposition to our faith. Paul asks the church at Colossae to pray that he, as the messenger, would present the message with clarity and offers practical teachings on how to engage our culture.

Student and Young Adult Pastor Chuck Eastman continues Mosaic's "Walking Dead" series with this message which covers the 6th Dilemma, the fear of letting others know about Christ. Christians seem terrified to share their faith with others. But we need to remember that the Gospel isn't about us, it's about God who does the work to bring dead people to life! This message was presented on July 21, 2013 at Mosaic's Little Rock campus.
