4/09/17 - Luke 23:33-35    Vs. 33: Crucified in Shame  Vs. 34-35: Crucified For Forgiveness   Benediction: 1 John 4:7-10 (ESV) "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son . . . "

3/26/17 - Matthew 5:17-20 Call to Worship Adapted from  Romans 13:10 & 1 John 4:18   (Response) "God we gather together to thank You that Your yoke it light and that of all the laws You have commanded LOVE as the highest command." (Call)  "Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law."    (Response)  "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love."     Vs. 17-18  Jesus Fulfills The Law   Vs. 19 God's Commandments   Vs. 20  Faith Not Religion   Benediction 2 Pet. 1:2 - "Grace and peace be yours in abundance, through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.”  

3/19/17 - Matthew 5:13-16 - �Jesus tells His disciples that we are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. This is another encouraging text, but it comes with a couple of warnings. Jesus tells us that if we (using the salt metaphor) are not careful we will loose the flavor or essence of God by becoming diluted by the things that are not of God.  Essentially, Jesus encourages us as "salt and light" while reminding us of our God given mandate to flavor and light up the world we live in, for His Glory and our joy.

2/12/17 - Luke 7:36-39 (ESV) "One of the Pharisees asked him to eat with him, and he went into the Pharisee's house and reclined at table. And behold, a woman of the city, who was a sinner, when she learned that he was reclining at table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment, and standing behind him at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head and kissed his feet and anointed them with the ointment. Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, for she is a sinner.”  

Luke 12:13-21 - The Text is simple yet profound. Earthly life is temporary (though we need things in this life to live) yet no one will take their bank account with them in the after life.  This Text begs, no it demands that we view our life in light of this reality.  Life is made up of moments and whom we choose to serve, worship and revere as most important in those moments that become years eventually display our true love.  We will all face God and have to give an account for our lives and no one on their death bed ever says, "I wish I'd spent more time at the office." This Text forces us to see our lives in light of eternity.

 Luke 13:22-30   Four Main Points Jesus is The Door That Leads To Salvation and The Door Is Narrow  The Door Is Open To Anyone Who Believes In Jesus and Repents of Sin  The Door Will One Day Shut Those Outside The Door Will Suffer Eternally    Vs.22-23a. An Ignorant Question  Vs 23b -24 What You Need Vs. 26-27 When The Door Shuts  Vs 28-30  WHAT IT'S LIKE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR 

Matthew 20:1-16 Vs. 1  A Peculiar Kingdom    Vs. 2-7  Laborers Sent To Work    Vs. 8-10 From The First To The Last    Vs. 10-11 You've Made Them Equal To Us?     

Luke 18:1-8 This parable of Jesus is about the persistent widow who continues to seek justice from an evil judge. God is a righteous and perfect Judge, and how much more faithful is He to those who seek Him, even when we are faithless, He is faithful. Benediction (A blessing for the road) Matthew 7:7-11 (ESV) 7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!" 

God Makes Himself Known To His People  God's People Draw Closer to God  God's People Share His Story God's Message is Marvelous  God's Grace is Life's True Treasure  God's Works Causes Us to Glorify God
