Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Together, We're Gonna Find Our Way: An Unofficial Silver Spoons Podcast. Today, I covered Silver Spoons S4E9: A Magnificent Obsession, which aired on November 24, 1985. In this episode Rick tries to win back his girlfriend when she leaves him for the captain of the football team. And I also covered S4E10: Judgement Day, which aired on December 1, 1985. In this episode when Edward lectures him about his poor geometry grade, Rick goes crazy trying to improve it. I really enjoyed both these episodes, but if I had to choose one over the other, I think I would have to go with A Magnificent Obsession, the songs they played and Rick's wardrobe montage in the beginning shows it's beginning to appeal to the teenage demographic hard. I feel the teenagers could identify with Rick going through what a teenager goes through worrying about self image, dating and parents pressuring their kids to get good grades especially when it comes to college. Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen, the host of the new podcast, Diff'rent Strokes To Move The World: An Unofficial Diff'rent Strokes Podcast. Today, I covered S1E1: Movin' In, which aired on November 3, 1978. In this episode Philip Drummond is a wealthy Manhattan industrialist who takes in Arnold and Willis Jackson, the two sons of his late housekeeper; Drummond is white and the boys are black. Arnold, age 8, is excited about the opportunity of a privileged life, but Willis, age 13, feels that Mr. Drummond is trying to buy their love with expensive gifts. I really enjoyed this episode and felt that this was a good first episode for a show, giving us just enough insight on the characters, to slowly over time form an attachment and keep us tuned in to see how they grow and learn over the course of time. Also in this episode, I talk about the times I skipped school, granted I was much older than DJ and when a met a celebrity (of sorts, in my eyes) someone I truly admired and maybe left a lasting impression. Today, I covered Full House S1E15: A Pox In Our House, which aired on January 29, 1988. In this episode Stephanie comes down with chicken pox, and as the day progresses the people who can take care of Michelle quickly dwindles. Danny may have to give up his chance to cover an important even he's been looking forward to. Meanwhile, Jesse, Joey, and Stephanie try to deal with the itching while keeping away from Michelle. Also in this episode I talk about my bout with chickenpox at age 7 or 8 (I remember the calamine lotion and cotton balls very well) and also Jeremy's who got it at age 12. I also look up the symptoms for chickenpox and some ways to temporarily relieve yourself of the itching. I really enjoyed watching this episode again, it's been a while. Today, I covered the next episode in the Jesse & Becky: A Love Story Series Full House S5E10: Happy Birthday babies, Part 2, which aired on November 12, 1991. In this episode, it is finally Michelle's fifth birthday party. Everyone dresses up. Dj dresses up as Wilma in Michelle's Flintstones themed party. Stephanie dresses up as Betty Flinstone, Danny, is Dino and all of the kids wear cave men clothes. Comet has a dinosaur costume on and Jesse is dressed up as Fred. Just as Jesse plans to go downstairs to celebrate Michelle's birthday, Becky goes into labor... and so does Jesse, but we soon learn that he has appendicitis. Michelle has to cut her birthday short, but she doesn't mind because her new cousins, Nicky and Alex, get to share her birthday. I really enjoyed this episode, it makes us realize just how tender children's hearts can break so easily and we need to respect their feelings. Am I saying Steve should have just went along with the sham marriage to Michelle, for heaven's sake, no! What, I am saying is DJ and Steve should have been up front with her and told her "Now, Michelle, you know this is all pretend, right? We're just having fun". I really liked this episode and felt it was a perfect way to end Season 4 and leave viewers anticipating what was to come in Season 5. Today, I'm bringing you the next episode in the Jesse & Becky: A Love Story Series, S4E20: Fuller House, which aired on February 22, 1991. In this episode Michelle is upset when she learns that Jesse plans to move out of the house and into Becky's apartment. This episode has always been a tearjerker for me. The goodbye scene between Michelle and Jesse just breaks me every time. Even once Jesse and Becky are moved in to her or now, (their place) she can see that he's not happy as they take a break from moving boxes into the place and sit on the couch, Jesse is already reminiscing about the nightly bedtime routine at the Tanner house with Michelle, Danny and Joey singing the "Teddy Bear Song". But he gets bored. He needs to do some kind of trading. And when he sees Ricky trading baseball cards, he comes up with his own way to upgrade the card's value. And Ricky becomes just as ruthless when he trades. I was really surprised by this episode going into it thinking it was gonna be a dud, it turned out to be very insightful. I learned about about the average annual salary of a baseball player’s salary from 1985 to now, got some insight into Tommy Lasorda, and the idea of supply and demand. Happy Super Bowl Sunday Tanner Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Since today is the Super Bowl and I am an avid non Super Bowl Watcher I decided to cover this episode Full House S8E14: Super Bowl Fun Day, which aired on January 25, 1995. In this episode Joey comes home from a two-week comedy tour to watch the Super Bowl Game, forgetting that he and Jesse had volunteered to take Michelle's science group to the museum that day. He takes them to the local bar so that he can watch the game and promises the kids that they will have fun. When the TV gets broke the guys brings all the mad football fans to there house to watch the game, interrupting DJ's college interview. As I say in this episode, I'm not a sports team person, my sports watching consists of 90's Kids Sports Movies like, The Mighty Ducks, The Sandlot, Rookie Of The Year, Little Giants and The Big Green.
