Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Together' We're Gonna Find Our Way: An Unofficial Silver Spoons Podcast. Today, I covered S3E14: Special Friend, which aired on January 13, 1985. This episode of Silver Spoons kinda threw me for a loop, I thought I might have guessed Mark’s problem several times over, but nothing could have prepared me for the dark bomb Mark dropped on Rick. Edward’s boring subplot with the Russian version of the Rubik’s Cube Rick dubs “The Communist Block” and Kate’s mad pruning skills “plant killer” while listening to Dr. Scott’s radio call in line did little for this episode. Alfonso was a jerk this episode, jealous that Rick is spending all his free time with Mark as a peer counselor. He didn’t have to call Mark a nerd just because Rick wouldn’t play basketball with him. I liked Mark and felt he was very reserved and he kept his problems and feelings close to himself. Watching Rick as a peer counselor was exhausting to witness. He over analyzed his friends and family and

I’m back to cover another episode of Silver Spoons, S3E12: Lulu’s Back In Town Airdate: December 30, 1984 The last episode of 1984. In this episode Rick hopes his friend Lulu Baker will be able to run his favorite hamburger restaurant. This was a sweet episode with guest star Pearl Bailey who also provided the voice of Big Mama from Disney’s animated classic 1981’s The Fox and the Hound. We get to hear Alfonso sing part of “Once In A Lifetime” He has such an amazing voice. Hey Everyone! The 2nd half of my Bonus Episode Movie Review Of My Girl Is Now Up On Soundcloud and Available To Download from Apple Podcasts. The second half picks up with Vada and Thomas J at the lake where they become blood brothers. I will admit I break down towards the end of this movie I’m not afraid to cry while I’m recording. The lesson I learned from this movie and it resonates even now with the recent loss of my father is this: Never take a moment for granted because you may not get a second chance to tell that person you love them or give them a hug.
