Today I'm covering the 2 Parter S3E3 and S3E4: Growing Up Parts 1 and 2 which aired on September 30, 1984 and October 7, 1984. In Part 1 Edward sets up a curfew that Rick ignores. In Part 2 Edward sets up a curfew that Rick ignores. Also I noticed in this episode that Rick has a couple shirtless scenes, I'm guessing that was for the teen girls in hopes that Ricky Schroder would make it into the teeny bopper magazines and help boost the ratings of the show in the teen department, especially since he's a teenager now and in high school, so so they'll have him do things like break curfew and runaway from home, going on dates with girls, arguments with parents, experiences that some teens can relate too. I really think Rick is being a little bit of a drama queen in this episode, even Kate calls him on it, saying he's been over emotional. He runs away from home after he breaks cu

In this episode Rick learns the lesson of what it means to be a small fish in a big pond, and no longer the king of junior high, after he gets shoved into a locker. First days of school are tough, especially high school. It’s funny how things flip flop for Rick and Freddy as Freddy has the best day and Rick learns what it means to not be popular and is also picked on by the sophomores. I talk about a time in 6th grade where a classmate of mine asked me to shut him in his locker. I said no way, though someone closed the door on him and the janitor had to be called to get the kid out. Hey there Punky Peeps, Angela Bowen here the host of Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast. I have the most best amazing news ever to hit the airwaves and internet! Punky Brewster is back, a sequel show is in the works and Soleil is reprising her role of Punky. In this episode I discuss my feelings on this comeback, I'm jumping up and down excited, these are my feelings right now. The original multi-camera series, created by David W. Duclon, centered on Punky (Frye), a bright young girl raised by a foster dad (George Gaynes). In the multi-camera/hybrid reboot, Punky (Frye) is now a single mother of three trying to get her life back on track when she meets a young girl who reminds her a lot of her younger self. This is a mini podcast episode about the Punky Brewster Sequel and I will keep you all updated when I learn more. Have a great day everyone!

Happy Monday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Together, We're Gonna ind Our Way: An Unofficial Silver Spoons Podcast. Today, we welcome a new Season of Silver Spoons . Season 3 introduces us to Alfonso in S3E1: Best Friends, which aired on September 16, 1984. In this episode Dexter's nephew comes to live with him, but his aggressive attempts to make new friends don't go smoothly. Also we get an appearance by a not real Michael Jackson. Let me just say I was fooled, when I saw him appear on screen I screamed “It’s Michael Jackson!!!!” Only to find out a minute or two later he was an imposter! We also see a friend of Rick’s is played by K.C. Markel who would go on a year later to play Mike Seaver’s friend Eddie on Growing Pains. Today, I covered S6E19: Subterranean Graduation Blues, which aired on March 2, 1993. In this episode Jesse is determined to show up everybody who doubted he could finish high school; but on the night of the graduation, everybody gets delayed when the subway train gets stuck. Also during this episode I talk about the first time I rode a subway on my trip to D.C. two years ago. I'm sure people could tell I was a newbie or a rookie, but no one bothered to look up from their phones or tablets to find out. Very different from 1993, I shall say. I also mention my discovery of the internet back in 1998-99 when I was supposed to be babysitters my nephews. I saw those kids thru their Rugrats phase in 1997-98 to their Pokemon phase in 1999 and 2000. Yikes. It's so hard to believe both boys are now 25 and 21 years old. In this episode While in Miami for a toy convention, Edward, Ricky and Dexter are trapped in their hotel room during a fire. I rated this episode 3/5 Too much fat shamming in this episode from a joke about Dexter’s appearance looking like he breakdanced with Nell Carter to the overweight women in the rescue helicopter who sat on Edwards arm and maybe sprained or broke it. I get it, it was the 80’s (I grew up during that time) but really give me a break. Plus Dexter not wanting to go on anymore after his girlfriend leaves him for a Plummer. Major eyeroll! I thought I would cover S8E5: To Joey, With Love for Teacher Appreciation Day for the month of May, this episode aired on October 25, 1994. In this episode Joey takes a job as a substitute teacher--in Michelle's classroom. PTA president, Mrs. Carruthers (guest star MARCIA WALLACE) becomes Joey's not-so-secret admirer. Danny auditions to play bass guitar for Jesse. Also I talk about my teacher for 2nd and 3rd grade who would sometimes be goofy and us kids would get riled up and he would have to bring down the hammer to settle us down. Today, I’m covering S4E25: The Graduates, which aired on April 26, 1991. In this episode Danny dates a college student. At the same time, D.J. graduates from junior high and Michelle graduates from preschool. Stephanie feels left out of the graduation festivities, so the family tries to cheer her up by making a graduation ceremony for her. I also learned that I’ve actually heard of one of Slaughter’s songs “Days Gone By” from the my grandparents 50th Anniversary video that my sister put together. Meanwhile, a power-hungry DJ is taking her role as head chaperon a little too seriously. Joey and Fernando duel over a chilly cook off. DJ’s a chaperone at Jackson and Ramona’s Prom and runs into Gia who because she hit a crossing guard with her car at school she needs to get her volunteer hours in as she says while constantly slipping from a flask, we get a reappearance by the lovely Popko who is referred to as Robert, he and Ramona share a dance. Jackson insults Rocki to some of his jerk football player friends. Casey is the best dressed most awesome new character of this show. I want to see more of him in Season 5. Today I'm covering S2E18: A Summer's Romance Parts 1 and 2, which aired on March 10, 1984 and March 17, 1984. In Part 1: Ricky's classmate Leslie has a crush on him, and visits him to help rehearse a play. She brings her mother Veronica, who turns out to be an old flame of Edward's. Veronica causes problems when she tries to rekindle the flame. In Part 2: Edward finds himself in the awkward position of having to choose between Leslie's mother Veronica and Kate when the latter catches him in a passionate kiss. He must decide between the two - but has Kate already decided to leave? I gotta hand it to Kate she handled this situation with Edward and Veronica very stoically and strong even though I’m sure her heart was breaking inside. When Edward finally does choose Kate (because of course he does, Spoiler Alert they get married in Season 3) Kate doesn’t take him back right away. It takes

This one here was a doozy! Today, I'm covering S2E17: Changes which aired on March 3, 1984. In this episode when the tomboyish pitcher on Ricky's baseball team asks Kate for advice on how to be lady, she assumes that the girl has a crush on Ricky. Little does Kate know that she has set her sights on someone else. I was surprised that this episode actually chose to focus on someone not in the Stratton household instead of Ricky. This episode reminded me of when I was 11 and had a crush on my fifth grade teacher which I do talk about in this episode. Also a garden glove gets mistaken for a 5 legged frog by a gardener. I refer to Edward as a “hot daddy” several times during this episode and honestly I don’t think I’m wrong. Joel Higgins was a good lookin’ man in the 80’s.
