Tonight, I'm covering S3E7: And They Call It Puppy Love which aired on November 10, 1989. In this episode a dog wanders into the yard. Convinced that the dog's a stray, Stephanie wants to keep it. They learn that the dog's name is Minnie, and she came all the way from Ohio. Minnie gives birth to a litter of puppies on Jesse's bed. Also in this episode I try to find AduFlintstonesnes Vitamins (no luck). I talk about taking my driver’s training written test, also find helpful information about preparing for your dog to give birth, and when I picked out my puppy Rocks when I was 13 (I’ll post a picture later) going to Krispy Kreme (first time). In this episode Ricky's mother comes to visit, he manipulates her into buying a dirt bike for him after Edward decides against it. Ricky's resentment over Kate's advice on the topic also confuses the matter of her relationship with Edward. This episode really showcased Edward and Evelyn as co-parents and poor Kate is stuck in the middle after she offers her opinion of why she feels Ricky shouldn’t have a motorcycle/dirt bike/motorbike. But when he ends up indebted to a bookie, he steals a rare coin from his father's collection. Just knowing that Derek knew when to talk away from a bad bet and Ricky didn't listen. After first thinking his dad has forgotten his birthday, he wishes for the impossible - which is for Kate, his dad and his grandfather to all get along. This episode for me was not so much a let down, but just dull, it was nothing but fighting, fighting, fighting from the get go. In this episode Ricky has his friends Derek, J.T. and Freddy for a sleepover, but the boys play a cruel prank on Freddy - and Ricky makes it worse with a selfish remark. He feels guilty about his behavior, while Kate over-identifies with the taunting. I really enjoyed this episode as it provided a good message about helping a friend after they suffered a humiliating experience and teaching them to have self confidence.
