In this episode Betty's sister Larnese, a world famous singer, asks Cherie to come live with her in France. Also in this episode I talk about the awesome bedazzled denim jacket that Betty spent 3 months working on for Cherie's birthday. What makes a parent, it's not how much money you make, it's being there for your child as Betty points out to her younger well traveled world famous singer sister Larnese. We get references to a Walkman which I talk about having one in this episode in 1993 as well as a Discman in 1996. Actually they were like RCA or some other brand. S4E9: See You In Court Air Date: May 9, 1988 Henry and Betty battle it out in court after Betty causes an accident while Henry teaches her to drive. Both get on the stand and tell outlandish yarns about how the accident occurred while the judge just sits there listening while rolling her eyes. The girls though, they know the truth. Get them on the stand and you’ll hear the real story. I gotta say I loved Cherie’s braided hair in this episode. I think it was a first in all of Punky Brewster that I can remember. Poor Punky and Cherie are having zero luck when it comes to starting their own business as we see here in S4E8: Cosmetic Scam which aired on May 6, 1988. In this episode Punky and Cherie make money selling cosmetics with unexpected side effects. In this episode I talk about my failed attempt at selling Cutco Knives. Columbia House and The BMG Music Club and how impossible it is to end your membership with them. As well as spending $100 for a Job Search Place to just search their database for local job opportunities and being sent on interviews that never panned out. Hey Punky Peeps, Angela Bowen here, the host of Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast. Punky becomes “one of those” stage moms after Brandon lands a part in a dog food commercial. Will Brandon be able to live up to Punky’s high expectations or will he turn tail and run? Find out in S4E5: Brandon's Commercial which aired on May 3, 1988. During this episode I talk about different pet food commercial stars like Morris the cat, or that Westie from the Caesar Dog Food Commercial as well as Lassie and Benji. As well as parents projecting their dreams and hopes onto their kids like Henry wanting Punky to one day take over the restaurant when she wants to be an astronaut. Or Punky thinking Brandon's going to be famous after shooting one commercial. I couldn't stand Cherie and the invisible dog harness/leash combo. Happy Sunday Punky Peeps, Here to kick off Season 4 of Punky Brewster with S4E1: The Nun's Story which aired on April 27, 1988. In this episode Punky believes she has donated an urn containing Henry's Aunt Mabel's ashes to a convent. Well, it wouldn't be a Punky Brewster episode without her getting in over her head and needing her best friend Cherie to help bail her out of trouble. In this episode Punky has to get back an urn filled with the ashes of Henry’s deceased Aunt that she donated to a church rummage sale. Gah! She enlists Cherie in her scheme of breaking in and helping impersonating a 7 ft tall Nun so they can get in, grab the urn and bounce before anyone sees them. This produces hilarious results. What’s even more funny is the monsignor visiting the convent is tipped off by a suspicious nun and instead of busting them right away he decides to let this whole thing play out to see if they confess. Lesson learned from this episode: Check before you donate. Especially if it’s not your stuff, don

Happy Saturday Punky Peeps ! Angela Bowen here, the host of Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast. The Season 3 Finale is here ! S3E22: Unhooking Henry which aired on December 7, 1987. In this episode Punky tries to help Henry break his addiction to sleeping pills. I thought this episode was done so well, being it dealt with a subject as serious as prescription drug abuse. It got the message across to kids that was straight forward enough to get the point across without scaring kids into thinking just because someone is taking prescription drugs does not make them a pill popper or pill head and not talking down to them. Not once did I hear the term addict or addiction used it was “hooked” which was a great way to play it safe and also Punky’s Just Say No Program was referenced by Henry. Good job writers and to George Gaines and Soleil for their awesome acting in this episode. Sent Season 3 off with a bang! In this episode I talk about my 5 year battle between my Dad and I when he forbid me from watching 1993's The God Son starring Macaulay Culkin. I was 11 and he kept me from watching it until I was 17. Although I had the novelization of it that I got from a school book order. Remember book orders from Scholastic? I also saw Cruel Intentions in the theater back in 1999 twice after my Dad forbade me, even though I was 16. I told him I was seeing Step Mom and then the second time The Other Sister. In this episode Punky is concerned about the way Cherie always seems to act every year on the 9th of May; she soon learns that it was the day Cherie's parents were killed in a car accident. I have to say that Cherie Johnson brings down the House with her performance and I know when I watch this I will be once again moves to tears . This episode destroys my heart .
