Commandment two The mag makers
04/08/2019 Duración: 36minExodus 20:4 `You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness (embodiment) of anything that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, The Lord your God am a jealous God. Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image. God is serious about the image we are destined to become – The telieos. Only one person has achieved that. We are still on the adventure to inherit the destiny for which we were created – to become the teleios created by God before the foundation of the world. Abraham was told to move out from his place and begin the adventure that would bless all the families in the earth. Moses took Israel out of Egypt to bring them through a wilderness and bring them into the promised land – a natural picture of a spiritual reality of the fullness of God within us. Whatever you’re in that you needn’t be, God wants to take you out then through then into. There is always somewhere to g

Commandment One no other gods
28/07/2019 Duración: 29minExodus 20:2-3 (RSV). I am The Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me. This commandment is about putting God first in our lives. Whenever we respond obediently to this Commandment both our inner life and outer life become reordered and gain meaning as we enter into the unknown territory of faith and trust Scriptures in the New Testament that parallel the first Commandment in the Old Testament. 1 Corinthians 8:6 Yet for us there is only one God, The Father, of whom are all things, and we live for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we live through him. 7 However, not all possess this knowledge. Also; Romans 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen. The growth pattern of the pathway of the Ten Commandments takes us all the way around to Commandment number ten, and then leads us right onto Commandment number one again (covetousness/idolatry and a d

Stronghold of praise
22/07/2019 Duración: 39minJob 1:20-21 “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” Let’s have a quick recap of what led to this moment from Job. To set the scene: Job was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil. He had seven sons and three daughters, and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East. Read Job1:13-18. Out of this context – Job praised the Lord. Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head – expression of grief and mourning Psalm 8:2 Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. Psm22:23 You who fear the Lord, praise him!...Where do we get this attitude and the intention to praise the Lord? ‘From you comes the theme of my praise’ (Psalm 22:25). The theme of our prais

The Ten Commandments 1 a pathway to maturity
15/07/2019 Duración: 41minIn the Old Testament the Ten Commandments relationship pathway created order and righteousness and wisdom and faith (trust). This was able to enrich their lives in Spirit, soul and body (Psalm 19). The first four Commandments deal with our relationship with God, and that the next six deal with our relationships with one another. From this develops purpose, meaning, sacrifice, responsibility and fulfillment. In the New Testament this pathway works through faith and grace (Romans 8:4). In this ge the Law is written in the heart, where through grace and faith they can be fulfilled and not broken (3000 killed in Exodus 32/3000 made alive in Acts 2) The children of Israel had been in bondage in Egypt for four hundred years, and they had lost any understanding of God, not to mention a loving God and that meant that they could not relate to or trust a lawgiver (Just make more bricks). So Moses had a task ahead of him - how to get these people to not just relate to a law, but rather to relate to a loving Father beh

Spiritual sacrifices 3 Praise Thanksgiving and giving
07/07/2019 Duración: 38minHebrews 13:15 Therefore through Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good (Acts 11:29 euporia) and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. This Scripture combines three powerful spiritual sacrifices, Praise, thanksgiving, and doing good by giving to those in need. Praise is a sacrifice of surrender and of worship. Surrender is the magnifying of God in our hearts instead of the magnifying of self and its problems in our minds. This gives rise to hope and faith, and spiritual authority, as God is greater within us than anything that can overcome us (1John 4:4 1John 3:19). Thanksgiving is the sacrifice of faith and love that is able to praise and magnify God even in difficult circumstances, as God is greater within us than anything that can overcome us. . That kind of expansion of heart allows a person to move in the grace of reaching out to share and give to those in need. This word to ’sh

Spiritual sacrifices 2 servant heart
30/06/2019 Duración: 28minRomans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable (logical) way to serve. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may discern what is the good (beneficial) and acceptable (appreciated) and perfect (completing God’s highest goal for our life) will of God. There is a logical way to sacrificially serve God and one another that has a higher goal than other goals of just being faithful and doing our duty, or even to getting some kind of calculated reward or ‘good deal’ out of it. That is why we are talking about spiritual sacrifice, which means that if there is something that takes us beyond our selves and into God and is so worth doing, it is worth giving up other things to have that. And here we have a goal that transcends ourselves and our own needs. The higher goal is being transformed into the image and likeness of God, with Jesus livi

Spiritual sacrifices The priesthood
23/06/2019 Duración: 37min1Peter 2:4 you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house (where God abides), to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. (There are about five in the New Testament) THE FIRST PRIESTHOOD Moses spoke to Israel in the Old Testament and told them they were to be a nation of priests (Exodus 19:5). He set apart a priesthood that was to offer sacrifices to God on Israel’s behalf. THE FIRST SACRIFICE The first sacrifice was the shedding of blood for the forgiveness of sins (Hebrews 9:22). The first blood sacrifice offered was when God killed an animal to make hide-skin clothing for Adam and Eve to cover their sin and shame after the fall (Genesis 3:21). Adam and Eve first tried to cover their own shame and guilt by using fig leaves to cover their nakedness, but this did not work because it was their own self-consciousness that devised this superficial covering. This never works, because we do this out of a feeling of feeling unaccepted f

Occupy till I return
09/06/2019 Duración: 39minLuke 19:12 A nobleman was called away to a distant Empire to receive a Kingdom and then return. Before he left his city, he called together ten of his servants and divided among them ten pounds of silver, saying, ‘Occupy till I return'. There were also people of the citizenry who despised him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We do not want him to be king over us.’ And when he returned, having received the kingdom, he commanded his servants to be called to him, to whom he had given the money, that he might call them to account for their occupying till his return. In Daniel 4:13 Daniel had visions relating to Babylon's king, Nebuchednezzar, being dealt with by God, and he identified a 'watcher' which was an angel (‘iyr’) watching over the city (‘iyr’). So we see that a city is something that is watched over by angels. In ancient times cities had watchmen on the walls, as well as watching angels in the heavens. In Daniel ch. 9 Daniel had to wait for twenty one days for Michael to come and assist in the

Holy Spirit's burden for our Nation
02/06/2019 Duración: 39minThe Church in Australia is sharing the burden of Holy Spirit for this nation, and this week freedom of religion will be discussed at a leadership level in politics BEING YOUR SPIRITUAL SELF 1Samuel 17:28 When it was finally realized what David meant, someone told King Saul, and the king sent for him."Don't worry about a thing,"David told him."I'll take care of this Philistine!" "Don't be ridiculous!"Saul replied."How can a kid like you fight with a man like him? You are only a boy, and he has been in the army since he was a boy!" But David persisted."When I am taking care of my father's sheep,"he said,"and a lion or a bear comes and grabs a lamb from the flock, I go after it with a club and take the lamb from its mouth. If it turns on me, I catch it by the jaw and club it to death. I have done this to both lions and bears, and I'll do it to this heathen Philistine too, for he has defied the armies of the living God! The Lord who saved me from the claws and teeth of the lion and the bear will save me from thi

Two Trees
26/05/2019 Duración: 28minAdam and Eve in the beginning of their lives on earth only spoke to God. He was the only person that they had in their minds. That was their life in paradise (which means ‘an enclosed and protected place’). He had told them that there was a tree in the garden that had fruit that they were not to eat of, or they would die. They knew He was greater than them and knew all things and had rule over their lives, so they listened to Him. Then one day they had a conversation with another person they had never met before, a shining serpent in the very tree they had been warned about. And in that day Adam and Eve let that person into their minds, and there he stayed. He also seemed to speak with great authority and he offered them an interesting and beguiling proposition. He told them they would not die, and that God knew that when they ate the fruit they would become like Him and have His knowledge to judge between good and evil. They listened to him and liked his lie and believed his lie and ate the fruit. That was t

Logos - The big idea
20/05/2019 Duración: 34minIf a person wants to go ahead with something significant they have to start off with an idea, and how it is going to work and what is the intention for doing it. The Logos was the Word, from the mind of God, the big idea which spoke all of creation into being for his own purpose and intention and which now sustains and upholds all of creation with that Word of power. That Word from that thought, is Jesus, the Logos made flesh. That was and is God’s big idea. That is what gives our lives meaning and purpose. God knows the design and purpose for every particle of matter in the universe and he has set that in motion. That includes his big idea for us, to see him in our minds - ordering our hearts and minds to respond with trust and faith in every circumstance, difficult or favourable, that faces us. We have a known past, a challenging present and an uncertain future. According to how we think and what we think, we are creating a better or a worse future. It is natural for a person’s mind to dwell on the challen

The Logos at work
12/05/2019 Duración: 33min1Thessalonians 2:13 … when you received the word (Logos) of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in (energao - energizes) you who believe. James 1:21… Humbly receive the implanted word (Logos), which is able to save your souls. Hebrews 4:12 For the word (Logos) of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, making a division between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. That is the way to go forward in life! The soul and the spirit are not opposed to each other, but they operate with different energies. The energy of the soul operates by the movement of our emotion, directed by our will, according to what our mind tells us what is ‘good’ for us to have or to do. Our minds can be corrupted by the spirit of the ‘age’, the intellectual, moral, and cultural climate of an era (Zeitgeist). There is a frenzied unbridled spirit abroad

The Logos and the Seed
05/05/2019 Duración: 28minPeter 1:23 since you have been born again, not of a seed that wastes away but of one that continues throughout the ages, through the living and abiding word (LOGOS) of God which lives and abides forever. Ephesians 3:17 And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love; and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God's children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last you will be filled up with God himself. HOW DOES THIS SEED GERMINATE? - The seed has to be sown or planted. The first response for the planted seed is its reaction to water. The water must soften the outer shell in order to penetrate and then it is vital for water to combine with the receptive active enzymes and proteins within that seed, w

The Logos
30/04/2019 Duración: 30minFor four hundred years before Jesus came to Earth, God had prepared the then known world to be conquered, ruled and assimilated by the Greeks, under Alexander the Great. The Greek territories absorbed the conquered cultures and developed philosophical principles of government and culture and thought (Socrates, Plato Aristotle). The one overarching thought that encompassed the meaning, wonder and design of an ordered Universe was the concept of the Logos. It was a belief that Logos was some form of intentional idea/principle (abstract?!) that can be seen everywhere; it made up the earth, trees and even us as humans, and logos does not just give everything form; it also gives it order. For humans, this means that logos determines who is who and who is placed where, because logos, the immutable essence of life and underlying master plan for all events, encompasses the entire world and, therefore, constitutes the ideal way to order it. In fact, logos is perpetually working to move the universe forward in the best

Resurrection and the King of Justice
21/04/2019 Duración: 33minWhen Jesus rose from the dead and went to Heaven, God as man entered the throne room of Heaven. Psalm 24:7 Lift up your heads, O gates! and be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Jeremiah 9:24 but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices lovingkindness, righteousness and justice, in the earth. For in these things I delight… Jesus as God and man came back to the earth for forty days to show that he had indeed risen from the dead Jesus met with his disciples and many others (500+) with some believing and some doubting. They gathered in rooms and also at the seashore and ate fish with Jesus after they had been fishing. This was a time when they listened to Jesus talk about the coming of The Holy Spirit and it was the time for Peter to resolve the guilt and shame of his denial of Jesus, and to confirm his love for him. It was also the time when he was forgiven and lovingly commissioned for his Apostolic leadership ministry

Living in time the why and the how
16/04/2019 Duración: 38minconduct yourselves throughout your moment to moment sojourn here in reverential fear.’ (1 Peter 1:17 Chronos time: sequential time as a succession of moments). ‘…I trust in You…my times are in your hand’ (Psalm 31:14/15) Time is a construct designed by the Creator for a creature made in His likeness. That is, the creature has an ‘I am’ which is a reflection of Creator’s ‘I AM.’ We are analogous to Him. We are spirit beings, but our spirit has been given a ‘carriage’ to house it and carry it through the Time realm in which it lives—realm that has the appearance of substance and permanence. God made it to appear solid and to respond as though solid. But it is of Time—temporal, and indeed temporary! Quantum Physics is revealing it is almost an apparition; like a hologram. It is comprised of particles, so small as to give the impression of solidity. But those particles behave in ways that defy Newtonian physics altogether. We, and the apparently solid world around us, (what many call the ‘real’ world) are not

Empowered from above
07/04/2019 Duración: 25minEphesians 2:6 He raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ. What does God do through us and to others? He does what is loving, true, and just, and he disciplines our will for the saving of our soul and for the blessing of other people. Proverbs 3:9 Honour God with everything you own; give him the first and the best. Your barns will burst, your wine vats will brim over. But don't, dear friend, resent God's discipline; don't sulk under his loving correction. It's the child he loves that God corrects; a father's delight is behind all this. Peter had to learn to have not so many ‘Not so’s Lord’ (Mat16, Luke 22, acts 10) JOHN 14:12 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. (Exodus 20:7Do not take The Lord’s name in vain…) Ph

Healing the soul
31/03/2019 Duración: 38minThe mystery of what to do with our pain. Transform it or transmit it. 2Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of an ordered mind. AN OVERVIEW OF UNHEALED FEAR DRIVEN UNTRUTHS ABOUT US VS.GOD’S TRUTH FOR US MIND-MINDSET (what are your thoughts about yourself) Spirit of fear -> disordered mind. I have no self worth, I am a failure, I am deprived, I am a victim, rejected, misunderstood, not heard, not appreciated. Is it true that you are worthless? How do you know? Has God told you this? So is it really true? If we think this is really true then this becomes our belief system – and fear has won over faith. What does God think about you? Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Being saved
24/03/2019 Duración: 31min1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing (being destroyed), but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (NKJ) 1Peter 1:8 Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, 9 Obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. There is a need for the true ‘Salvation of the soul’ to be experienced by ‘those who believe’ (1Timothy 4:10) 2Corinthians 2:15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing (being ruined, destroyed- ie, not being saved, because of unbelief and ignorance and disobedience). Salvation (Strong’s Concordance) soteria; feminine of a derivative of 4990 as (properly, abstract) noun; rescue or safety (physically or morally): — deliver, wholeness (health), salvation, save, saving. What is the most important thing in the Scriptures for the sinner? Many will answer, Salvation. Yet this important term o

Simplicity of Christ
17/03/2019 Duración: 32min2Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent beguiled Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. The serpent deceived Eve into thinking there was something more that God should be doing for her which made her feel suspicious and overlooked. So the trust factor came into play. Is God a good God, does he love me, does he want to bless me, and if he is all that why can’t I have the blessings that I should have? But Eve had every blessing that she could have had. Her fear of missing out damaged her soul and drove her into deception. The goal of our faith is the salvation of the soul (1Peter 1:9)– the inner spiritual blessings that we are told God has already blessed us with in Christ Ephesians 1:3. This is the love and peace and joy which is the fruit of the indwelling Spirit, that we can access by faith. I have seen many other blessings of God’s healing and material provision for my life and I trust him in those things and give thanks. But if I get
