We dun goofed again. This week Danny isn’t feeling spectacular and Caleb had some unexpected scheduling problems. So we are taking a sick day and being sure to wear our masks in the process. A pastor has a prophetic dream that goes viral. Are we all doomed or should we even take this guy seriously? Disney announces that Splash Mountain will be a ride based on the Princess and the Frog and people are upset even though Song of the South had some real racism issues. Also, we talk about tearing down statues across America. The recent events of America politics have gotten everyone thinking about issues of race and protesting racism. All this mixed in with cancel culture and a society that refuses to think critically about issues creates real problems. On this episode Caleb and Danny talk about the relevant issues and how we can come together as the body of Christ in unity. “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Recent events have called for the abolishing of police. But is this idea a good idea and how do we represent Christ in this current time? Danny and Caleb discuss on this week’s episode of Nobody Special. There is an ongoing debate as to whether or not we should abolish the police. While we do believe there are cases of police brutality that need to be addressed, abolishing the police does not seem like a good idea. It removes the accountability for actions while putting people at risk. This simply cannot be the solution. With all the time at home, we have been binging The Outer Banks on Netflix. We talk about friendship and forgiveness as the primary themes and see how this applies to the life of the Christian. Have you been watching Netflix? Tension run high across the country as everyone looks to reform race relations and civil rights. We open up the question bag and to talk about Christ returning and how we should feel. Then we discuss the movie Angel starring Ricky Garcia and the spiritual message of the fighting your demons. The movie angle starring Ricky Garcia and Erwin McManus came out in late 2019. It tells the story of a Latino homeless kid who battles his demons while trying to save his community. Overall, we felt the movie was a fantastic depiction but we disagree on some of the necessary and cinematic aspects. Then, we tell the story of Ricky Garcia and the allegations of sexual abuse by his manager from the ages of 12 to 17. The role of the Christian is to protect the innocent and stand up for those whose voice is being taken from them.
