Kevin Ginosa, Head PGA Pro Kings' & Beach Course at Waikoloa Beach Resort has some overview of the resort activities and golf events including the popular Family Golf Days. Dick Mudry, long time golf writer including 10 years as the copywriter for the Augusta National Masters Annual talks about the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Florida and the career of his friend David Graham. Graham, will be one of the 2015 class inducted in the World Golf Hall of Fame at the ceremonies in July at St. Andrews along with Mark O'Meara, Laura Davies, and famed architect A.W. Tillinghast. Dick shares the experience of touring the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine with David, who won the 1979 PGA Championship, 1981 US Open, had PGA Tour wins and host of around the world titles yet many said was overlooked as an inductee for too long. Winona Chen, Bike Works Beach & Sport recaps the events of Lavaman Waikoloa weekend where funds were raised for PATH (People's Advocacy Trails Hawaii)at the Bikeworks Sunset Run, the Lavakids was very successful and Winona won her age group at Lavaman.Winona, who has given back to those in the community who got her started in multi sport events by hosting some complimentary training events Winona and Bike Works that were very well attended. Winona comments on how fun it was to see some of the new athletes who participated in the clinics have fun in their first Lavaman.

Carol Connor, longtime resident of the Big Island has a longtime involvement with the Aloha Performing Arts Copy and Aloha Theatre starting with performing in Man of La Mancha in 1986 with Stan Michaels, directed by Luna Edwards. About that time Carol took her acting skills into radio broadcasting and was a popular morning personality for years. Of recent she has been handling much of the costuming for APAC. Her two children were also very involved with Childrens Theatre years ago. I'm grateful for having had the opportunity to play Nurse Rached in Cuckoo's Nest years ago. Winona Chen, was not an athlete in high school. She got into swimming, biking and running a few years ago and got involved working with Bikeworks. Been a win win for everyone as Bikeworks and Winona give back to the community. Her first triathlon was the Lavaman Waikoloa (1500 meter or .9 mile swim, 40k bike and 10k ru, here on the Big Island of Hawaii. Fast forward she completed her first Ironman this past year. Winona talks story about how and why she has grown to love participating and encouraging others to be active. Jim Thorpe, PGA Champions Tour player weighs in on The Golf Channel documentary he is a part of called "Uneven Fairways". It celebrates African-American contributions to golf and certainly documents some of the challenges they endured before being allowed on the PGA TOUR. Jim, who joined the PGA TOUR in 1972 comments on his fellow African-American players that paved the wave like Charlie Sifford, Lee Elder and Detroiter Calvin Peete, who was the most successful African American on the PGA Tour with 12 wins before Tiger emerged. Dave Marr III, NBC Golf joins us with comments about Jim Thorpe. Detroiter Jack Berry, member of the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame has covered sports for over five decades, including over 100 of golf’s major championships. Jack weighs in on the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai, the quality of play on the Champions Tour and many of the players he has covered for years. Jack's dad was the Traveling Secretary of Detroit Tigers in the 1940’s. We always end up talking baseball past and present. Titan, at 13 1/2 years old was the youngest to make the cut at the Mauna Lani Resort Hawaii State Open. He tied for 34th. I've love watching Titan work at and see results in his game. He sure turned some heads with this performance. Like all beginners Titan was frustrated that he couldn't outhit everyone. I would remind him how well he was doing and remind him to remember how much progress he was making. Something I have to remind myself of all the time in everything I'm doing. We would talk about how to work at it, have fun practicing. We laughed. We talked about all kinds of things. Titan, his dad Philip, and I have had many evenings around the chipping green talking life that day for each of us and practicing. We met up the other night at the Mauna Lani putting green.
