We’re coming into 2021 TOO HOT, as Amos Dunn (Ei Sa Da) joins Barm and Jack to FINALLY talk Disco.  And we’ve got a lot to talk about, like Osyraa’s machinations, our enduring love of Admiral Vance, Sybok’s mom, the last days of Trump, England’s reduced stature, the return of Kenneth Mitchell, a rainbow of Hannibals in the Emerald Chain, and the passing of the legendary MF Doom.  Oh, and Michael Burnham is John McClane.  Yippy-ki-yay, motherinos!

Happy New Year’s everyone!  Sneaking in just under the wire, Jaxilly COMPLETELY redeems 2020 with the classic JackBarmKregg combo talking Su’kal!  We’re also talking baby’s first holodeck, the royal We, video games, Freud, the Ba’ul, our feelings on BURN revelations, some amazing HotTheories, and The Mandalorian, AGAIN.  Does 2020, and this episode Su’kal?  Nope, they’re SATIS, and so are you.

Jack, Sam, and Kevin are Reopening the Wormhole to a time podcasting with Barm and she of the glistening Klingon hams, RTW appearances, Picard Finales, and SMB commentaries, the delightful Kristina Kephart!  They are here to talk about the wonders of CARL, decide the perfect trail mix, mourn the loss of salty Stamets, and above all, debate the merits of Georgiou as they once again delve into the mirror universe.  Come for those alluring mirror women, but STAY for Jack live on cast experiencing possibly the most unexpected and wonderful moment of his life, courtesy of great friends, and the G.O.A.T.!

2020 lurches to an end with a sputtering cough, and within the putrid phlegm arises another installment of DRUNK STAR WARS! The Force goes back to bed as a scrumpy-fueled Jack and a still bathroom recording Kregg choke on some Disney tip-yip. Through the drunken haze, the two recognize the ways that this little Lego thing is strong in the Force, and also, the ways in that is why you fail.  (Too drunk to make that sentence work proper).  Wouldn’t be proper!?  Wouldn’t have it any other way.  HAPPY LIFE DAY.

Jack, Barm and Ferengi Expert and Golden Boy Kregg Castillo are BOOKING it to BOOK CENTRAL to discuss SANCTUARY.  Which also means they gon’ talk about Detmer and Tilly’s Andorian hubby getting their trench run on with Grudge in their lap, Emperor Georgiou at peak intolerability (and Culber reacting appropriately), the Section 31 show they would actually be excited to see, ESL aliens, pronouns, Stamets jam sessions, really liking this episode, SEA LOCUSTS and fucking BOBA FETT.  MANIFEST!

Barm and Jack decide to live together on their own planet away from everyone else to talk about Unification III. Tigh and Mr. Lahey are the same person, touches on the wisdom of Spock, revisits Unification I&II, reminds us that axioms are simply ideas and not laws, reevaluates the works of Heinlein, and includes shocking reveals from your co-hosts: Barm would rather see Picard murdering Klingons than Leonard Nimoy in TNG, and Jack HATES temporal mechanics so much that he doesn’t even think they’re real.  Oh, and GROGU.  This episode wasn’t achieved through politics or diplomacy, but it was achieved.

Barm is back from his whirlwind November tour of Castville, and joins Jack and Sam Stovold (Marvel Star Wars Explorers) to talk SCAVENGERS.  That means you’ll be digging through the garbage to find gems like the story of the vagina-faces, a discussion of what working with people from a thousand years ago would REALLY be like and a show from Admiral Vance’s perspective, an attempt to deconstruct the Burn, references to The Running Man, and noted Georgiou-haters actually kind of… liking Georgiou? Also, we talk a lot about Discovery actually doing good character plotting and writing, blah blah.  GRUDGE, TILLY BAJORANS, LINUS!

The ApeCast tackles Disco Season 3!  For the first time in Season 3, Geoff Clarke (The ApeCast) brings his still SOMEWHAT unbiased Ape Peepers to Trek, and (mostly) likes what he sees, and it’s not just because master body-horror director and Canadian national treasure David Cronenberg is appearing in this episode for whatever reason (we’re not complaining!).  He and Jack also relish any chance to talk Final Fantasy VIII, the Temporal Cold War, the Smoke (and Smog) Monster, Robert Picardo, Admiral Vance (Vance Admiralty), and, as we bid farewell to Nahn, BARZANS, BARZANS, BARZANS.  Bear witness to the ascension of Castville’s new Barzan/Canadian expert. 

TRILL POOLS! They’re back, and so are Sam Stovold (Marvel Star Wars Explorers, Reopening the Wormhole) and Sean Davis (After the Credits) to do the deepest dive (into a Trill pool) on Trills since Reopening the Wormhole!  Recent events, and a delicious new Jaxilly drank have the guys in high spirits as they debate the relative merits of Trill adventures and disastrous dinner parties. It’s the first big Disco party of Season 3, as Jack, Sam and Kevin of RTW, Barm, and Ferengi expert and Golden Boy Kregg collide in orbit over Earth, and tensions are running HIGH when the group finds itself dividing into factions.  (And this is even before George Lucas pops in to offer up his hot takes.)  Sure, we can all agree on key issues like Book = delightful, Georgiou = irritating, Saturn = awesome, but is this episode more overly melodramatic preponderance, or one of the best episodes of the series??  It’s the most contentious issue in America today, without question, but the difference is, we have ANSWERS.  Or do we?  The only way to rip the bug alien helmet off and open your mind is to PRESS PLAY.
