In this episode, I invite Visionary Artist and Poet, Juliana Garces to share her insights on how we may integrate our spiritual experiences into our daily lives. We discuss her profound lucid dreams experiences starting from a young age, which led her to meditation, yoga, and working with sacred plant medicines for spiritual purposes. We also discuss her incredible visionary art, her experiences with astral travel, as well as working with Ayuhuasca, and we get to hear a wonderful transcendent poem as well. A Disclaimer is appropriate here: In no way is this podcast or the speakers involved advocating for the illegal use of any substance, nor for irresponsible use in anyway; rather, we encourage ways of reaching transcendent spaces through legal means, by following all applicable local laws. Ep. 36 - Morgan Aditi Devi & the Cicadas Cadence
25/07/2021 Duración: 01h01minWelcome back everyone! In this episode, I share a dialogue with artist and organizer, Morgan Aditi Devi. With cicadas buzzing in the background and the soft movement of the creek we sat beside, we discussed a heart oriented approach to activism, how cicadas teach us how to shed our shells and fear of death, the wonder and challenges of being human, and how to relate to ourselves, and the wider world in a more loving way. Due to a rather amusing hardware glitch there are some points in our dialogue where a word or two gets cut off. Fades have been added in some spots to soften the transitions between cuts. Thankfully, the flow of our dialogue remains, and this made for some fun outtakes towards the end. Thank you Morgan, for sharing in this dialogue, and all of you for joining us! Now begins the Cicadas Cadence

Ep. 35 - Wim Hof Breathing & Guided Meditation
01/07/2021 Duración: 36minHey everyone, welcome back to Actuali podcast! In this episode, we practice a breathing technique invented by 26-Time World Record Holder, Wim Hof, known as The Wim Hof Method, and follow this with a guided meditation. Wim's method has been shown in scientific study of its effects, to decrease inflammation, fight disease, and encourage the release of beneficial hormones, as well as the chemical compound DMT, a very intriguing side-note. DMT, or dimethyltryptamine, is known to occur naturally in our own bodies, as well as many plants. It has been shown to be released in larger amounts in the body during dream-time, as well as during the birth and death experience. In recent studies, DMT has been found to be constantly active in our brains in quantities as high as serotonin, and as such is now theorized to be central to our experience of conscious awareness. Ep. 34 - Phase-Shift III - Eyes of Love
24/04/2021 Duración: 01h09minWelcome back! In this episode, part III of our Phase-Shift series, we hear from three courageous, challenging, and empowering speakers, Bill Hicks, Jiddu Krishnamurti, and Daniel Schmachtenberger, to support our continued inquiry into the potential of a phase-shift for the human species. We know what happens when we fragment, fall apart, and turn against one another, but what happens when we instead Unite in One endeavor, to create a more peaceful, bountiful future for the children of tomorrow? With Bill Hicks, we consider: what happens when we see through Eyes of Love? We have previously explored how we can come to see people and the world around us through superficial impressions, stereotypes, and low resolution place-holder images. With Jiddu Krishnamurti, we consider: what happens when we see beyond the distinction of the observer and the observed? For we have come to see each other as images of each other, and rarely do we meet each other in the moment, truly, without preconceived notions limiting our ca

Ep. 33 - Phase-Shift II - To Unite
09/03/2021 Duración: 36minTo catalyze and reunite. From this episode: "For hundreds of thousands of years, we humans have been able to skirt the precipice, and become evermore social, cooperative, and creative beings. We excel when we come together, and now we must more than ever help catalyze that process of reunification. We have at our advantage the fact that we have now become this global, interconnected species - now interacting and interrelating - a part of a global society that can, if we are courageous and persistent, become more united in common cause than we are divided by those nefarious interests who stand to gain in power and profit by turning peoples against one another. We may yet succeed. The hope is slim, but failure is truly certain if we do not try to stop this downward spiral. The countermove to the tragic downward spiral is a great leap upward together, and it begins within each one of us." Ep. 32 - Phase-Shift I
08/10/2020 Duración: 48minWelcome back everybody! In this episode we begin our consideration of the many-layered existential crisis humanity faces, as well as the the potential of phase-shifting as a species to avert the danger of civilization level collapse. During this episode I bring up a dialogue between Ayishat Akanbi and David Fuller on Rebel Wisdom, titled 'Identity and Empathy', where Ayishat makes a great distinction between being "woke", and the process of awakening. Here's a link to that: https://youtu.be/PmKz0cmunP0 I also mention Jordan Hall's ongoing series, 'The Civium Project', which can be found here: https://youtu.be/yXBAtdyBto0 And Daniel Schmachtenberger's talk on the principle of emergence, from the Emergence Festival, is here: https://youtu.be/eh7qvXfGQho Lastly, the absolutely essential 'Awakening from the Meaning Crisis' series by John Vervaeke, which I wish every human being could have the chance to hear, can be found here: https://youtu.be/54l8_ewcOlY Enjoy the show! Ep. 31 - A Tenuous Balance
09/06/2020 Duración: 26minWelcome back to Actuali! In this episode, we begin by addressing the current crisis facing our world, this dark night of soul in America, and this beautiful chance we have to go beyond our labels. By widening our frames of reference, to see beyond our teams and tribes, our ideas and labels, we may remember what we are first and foremost: children of the cosmos, of earth and star. For the sake of hope, though I do sense us skirting the precipice, I also speak to a sense light on the horizon, as more and more come to deep life-affirming realizizations of what we really are, sparking off new lights, radiating brighter and brighter, their every heartful action rippling out. I pray enough of us can unite in the all-agreeable common cause of Love itself. To that effect, I wrote a poem, an older version of which I read on here some months before the corona virus event begin (Ep. 17). In this episode, the poem/prayer is presented in a new light, in perhaps a somewhat more refined form, with further explication

Ep. 29 - The Grace of Meditation
30/03/2020 Duración: 34minHello everybody! Welcome back to Actuali! We continue our exploration into the deepest questions of life, to understand our relationship with the deepest, most fundamental aspects of reality, that we may come to know ourselves truly, and be our Actual I. In this episode, we are utilizing a simple technique which involves only being aware of one's breathing during meditation, noticing thought distractions, and patiently returning attention to our breathing. This allows us to get an experiential sense and build up a bodily memory of what Now, this very present moment, feels like without our thoughts, feelings, and perceptions laden over it. In returning our awareness to the Now we build up this sense which allows us to be freed of the impact of thoughts and feelings, gradually, and evermore over time as we deepen our practice. And breathing, is a very simple, benign (not emotionally loaded) focal point for attention that is grounded here in the present, so it is a perfect anchor point for at

Ep. 28 - The Isness of Existence
02/01/2020 Duración: 34minWelcome back to Actuali podcast! This is Episode 28 - The Isness of Existence: Excerpt: As we get a sense of the isness of existence, and we recognize the Truest, Deepest Sense of Self, we realize once and for all, we are not the images we hold of ourselves, nor is anyone else. Of course, we build impressions of everyone we encounter, but as we come to know that we are not our self-images, we understand this of others as well. The drawing is not the thing, the map is not the territory, the menu is not the food, a tree is not the word. Words are mere low resolution place holders, icons for actual existence, and the only way to experience actual existence, as was eluded to of Neo in the Matrix when he awakens as the One. This metaphor is ancient, and it describes the moment one awakens to the underlying, actual nature of reality, and sees beyond their programming and conditioning, beyond the projections, the approximations, th

Ep. 27 - Beyond the Matrix - Tis the Season 2019
23/12/2019 Duración: 38minWelcome back to Actuali podcast! In this episode we pick up where we left off in Ep. 26 - Going Meta, Buddhist Metta, and now we continue where we left off in our inquiry, to delve ever deeper into the direct experience of this phenomena of awareness. From the episode: "Laden over this most primary sense of awareness, we all have these filters we perceive through, our different histories, and experiences, different challenges, accomplishments, and struggles, preferences and styles of interacting, but we all share the same experience of awareness that all of this occurs in, and through that, the same capacity for suffering, as well as the same capacity for overcoming, for creativity and co-creativity, for partnership, for love, and through love, the same capacity for consideration, for going beyond judgement to understanding, and forgiveness. This same sense of awareness upon which our frames of perception are laid over, this that is ultimately empty of features, is as consequence also too full of potential t

Ep. 26 - Going Meta - Buddhist Metta - Tis the Season 2019
07/12/2019 Duración: 28minHow can we see past our images of each other, to know each other as we are this moment, regardless of our different beliefs, as the always-changing ongoing miracles we truly are? Can we be without a prebuilt image of another, while still holding a prebuilt image of ourselves? Behind descriptions of who we are according to traits, such as I am a [this profession], [this nationality], [this religion], with this name, these accomplishments, who is the I that has them? When we say, I am this or I am that, I like this, I like that, Who is the Actual I? Welcome back to Actuali podcast! In this episode, we explore how we may drop the images, and see how we need not be attached to the ideas we hold, as they are simply tools we can use to interact with the world. Rather than allowing the ideas that appear in our minds to be our masters, we make peace with this figment of self we've come to mistake for the most fundamental Truth of our being. It's time to get back in the driver seat. Let us embrace th

Ep. 22 A Light Amidst the Darkness
14/10/2019 Duración: 30minWelcome back to Actuali podcast! In this episode, I respond to the idea that humans are a disease, which Jason Mamoa, Aquaman, recently helped popularize at the recent UN Climate Conference. We further address the alarming rate of increase of anxiety, depression, and suicide, particularly among young people, and consider some of the more potentially detrimental language being thrown around today as response to environmental crisis. Specifically, we consider an alternative point of view to this suggestion that humanity is a mistake, a virus, or cancer to this world. And we consider instead, how we may be a light amidst the darkness. We also continue our inquiry into how integral a sense of the Sacred, a sense of wonder and awe is to our individual lives, as well as to the wider world. The hope may be small, but our highest goal remains: that we may be that change we wish to see in the world, and change this world from the inside-out. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/actuali/message Suppo

Ep. 21 - A Sense of the Sacred
05/10/2019 Duración: 46minWelcome to Ep. 21 of Actuali podcast. In this episode, we take a deep dive to discover and realign with a sense of the sacred, the ineffable, the wondrous mystery that is life. We discuss that innate sense of wonder that we are all born with, and how this may be the most integral aspect of our humanity that allows us to overcome even the greatest challenges we face as a species. Excerpt: If there is not a sense of reverence, of that innate wonder for life that we are born with, we all too soon become lost to a maze of searching, and searching, and only fleetingly finding. We search for artificial fillers and distractions to fill a sense of meaningless in life, to decompress from the drudgery that is life. But it is here, always available, that sense of wonder. That sense of natural amazement, the great inhalation/exhalation that occurs when there is awe, when we experience such profound awesomeness, that we can but smile and revel in exhilaration. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor

Ep. 20 - The Truth of You
28/09/2019 Duración: 10minEp. 20 of Actuali podcast (formerly Actualization Station) - We may have an idea of what we can do to improve ourselves; but until we fully commit to doing so, we cannot know what it takes to make a lasting, positive change within ourselves, and in the wider world. Take back the reigns. If you blame the world outside, you are making excuses that obscure the reasons why you can still succeed. And maybe you will fail; maybe random circumstances will prevail, but how will you know what's possible until you try? Many people have risen out of worse circumstances than we can imagine. They did not blame their lot on outside forces and make excuses for giving up. They took note of the challenges they faced, and focused on solutions and ways around the hurdles life presents us. They persevered, and accepted no excuses from themselves. They committed despite their fears despite all anxieties and depression. They committed despite all outside circumstances. They made a change within themselves, and did not stop until th
