In our final message in the series Goliath Must Fall we answer the question: What happens if my giant doesn’t fall? Sin will constantly reawaken things in our lives that desire to pull us away from Jesus and our community of faith. But there is grace in our sin and a Shepherd who fights for us to restore us when we fail.

In this message we face down against one final giant: addiction! We are a culture that is constantly faced with addiction; it’s not just alcohol, drugs or pornography that plague our lives. In this message we discuss what addiction is and how to find freedom through the power of Jesus Christ.

In this message we talk about a sneaky giant- one most people would never recognize as a giant in their life. This giant doesn’t appear to have you by the throat holding you down like fear or rejection, but it can be just as deadly to your faith. As a result, the giant of comfort must fall!

The danger of a giant like rejection in our lives is that it attacks in multiple ways- some subtle, some in your face. Rejection can be deadly. That’s why we want God to put it to death in our lives as we learn to live from His acceptance.

Fear is a giant that comes for all of us! The Bible tells us over and over again not to be afraid. So, how do we deal with the giant of fear and see it fall in our lives? Build a life of faith; faith is the antidote to fear! In this message we find 3 root causes for fear and 4 ways to lay fear at the feet of Jesus.

Goliath was imposing and full of power over the people of God- until David showed up in the power of God to put an end to reign of terror! We all have giants in our lives that taunt us and mock us, keeping us from enjoying the fullness of life Jesus has for us. We need Jesus to enter our camp and put our giants to death! And He has! Jesus is bigger than your giant.

When God asks us to do something we can often find it to difficult- especially if we are asked to give up something! But what if God has something better to replace that thing with? In this message we look at Mark 10 and a conversation Jesus has with a man who is young and rich…something that can be a dangerous combination when it comes to a life of faith!

As we close our series on the book of Daniel we see once again that God is sovereign over the affairs of mankind. We also see that, like in the days of Daniel, wickedness and evil persist, yet God remains trustworthy and promises a time when all evil will have it’s day in court. Until then, we must choose where we stand- with the wise or the wicked.

The final chapters of Daniel reveal a great and terrifying future for the people of God including wars and hardship. And while those physical wars are scary enough, in this message we see another war that is taking place in the unseen realms. There are always heavenly realities behind human conflicts.

Daniel is deep in prayer about the end of the Babylonian exile when he receives a response from God. However, the response isn’t exactly what Daniel was hoping for. In this message we learn there is power in prayer, but we must yield to God’s will over our desires.

The discipline of fasting for spiritual purposes is largely unpracticed by modern American Christians, yet the biblical expectation to fast hasn’t changed. This message encourages us to pursue the presence and power of Christ by returning to old disciplines as we walk into a new year!

Thanks for watching our Christmas Eve service! We have journeyed through a series in December looking at Old Testament prophecies about Jesus- these were whispers of the first Christmas. In this message the whispers give way to proclamations that begin with angels and shepherds, but are now passed down to disciples of Jesus. We are meant to be people who proclaim God’s glory and the peace that He offers through a relationship with Jesus.

Today we hear the 3rd whisper in the Old Testament about the first Christmas. God whispers to David about an eternal throne and an eternal King- the one the world has been waiting for is going to be royalty! The question is, what will we decide to do with King Jesus in our lives?

The Old Testament is full of things that whisper about Christmas. What we know in totality the people of old only heard whispers about. In this message we hear a whisper of hope that goes all the way back to the garden of Eden as God brought grace to the world by whispering about a day sin would end and a Savior would come for mankind.

Daniel 9 gives us an understanding of what has led the Jewish people into captivity and exile in the nation of Babylon. Daniel understands through reading Scripture that the exile will come to and end and he begins to pray for God’s mercy and forgiveness to be shown so the people can return to Israel and the Name of God can be restored among the nations. God is always faithful to His covenant!

In Daniel 8 we get to participate in a vision that is said to be beyond understanding. For Daniel many of these things would happen in the distant future. For us today, we can look back and see what has happened and how these things may lead us to understand more fully how God operates in the middle of the suffering of His people.

The book of Daniel shifts in chapter 7 to apocalyptic visions. In this chapter we will see earthly kingdoms rise and fall until a final king is defeated by Jesus and the eternal King takes His rightful place with His people to rule the world.

Daniel in the lion’s den is a story most are familiar with, and it holds time honored truths to help us know how to stand up for God rather than bowing to men. Daniel remained faithful to God and God showed His power to rescue from certain death!
