It's the last episode of 2020!!! FINALLY!! We don't know about ya'll, but us at Deadtime Storiez are 5000% ready to put this year behind us. In fact, we're so ready to be done with it, we coerced Kristina to come be a guest this week!! It's "Jimmy Jr & The Jonestown Massacre - The Final Chapter" This episode is light on banter and heavy on story, so heavy in fact, that we are ONLY covering Jonestown this week! That's right... Ya'll Ready to Talk About Some Jonestown??? Its the 2nd and final installment on Sarah's retelling of Jim Jones (aka Jimmy Jr), The Peoples Temple, and finally Jonestown itself. To describe this story as a hell of a ride would be an understatement. We did it ya'll!! We think this is officially our longest (without a guest) episode EVER! And that's because this week is LOADED with storiez. Stephanie starts us off with the unsolved mystery of the Somerton (or is it Summertime?) Man. A man is found deceased on a beach in Australia -- and that's literally all we know. Who is he, what was he doing there, and most importantly - how warm was it because it's summer?? AND, if you listened last week then you know what Sarah has in store for us: Jimmy Jr. & The Jonestown Massacre, Pt. 1 This story has so many layers and twists and turns that it's going to take multiple episodes to do it justice. Part 1 tells us a brief summary of Jonestown and the Peoples Temple before diving into the childhood of Jim Jones (aka Jimmy Jr.) himself. Jimmy Jr. started out weird ya'll....just take a listen to find out HOW weird that was -- and how it could inevitably lead to him being a leader of a massive American cult.

Up in the sky - it's a bird, it's a plane, it's a ...dinosaur?? That's right, this week Stephanie is telling us all about the most recent dinosaur sightings in the US! Specifically sightings of a "Pterosaur", and even more specifically it's usually spotted while you're waiting at the bus stop. Dinosaurs might sound like a thing of the past, but apparently there's still some flying among us. It's slightly more probable than unicorns (only slightly). Sarah finishes the episode with the unsolved murder of the Mills family. A wife, husband, and daughter are murdered execution style and the murderer remains unknown. Could this have had something to do with their ties to The Peoples Temple?? The climate of American democracy still hangs in the air... but at least you can count on your favorite duo to keep bringing the ghost (and fart) storiez!! Things might be uncertain in the world, but we certainly have some spoooky storiez lined up this week. Stephanie starts us off with a good ol'fashioned ghost story. Don't worry, she's not "gassing" us up: Miss Molly's Hotel in Ft. Worth Texas is as haunted as it gets - but don't take Stephanie's word for it - take Ke$sha's! (She stayed there and told her tale in the show "The Haunting of: Ke$sha"). Sarah ends the episode with a true crime tale that is scary based on facts alone - but the fact that the narrative is from someone who knew the victim makes it that much spookier. The end of 2020 is near!! And it's turning out to be one of the scariest ends to a crazy year (we're looking at you 2020 US Presidential election). Thankfully we have this wonderful show, and YOU our listenerz, to help us focus on better scary things :) Sarah brings us the tale of Mercy Brown, New England's Last Vampire. Sawyer is the close friend and old roommate to BOTH of us! When we started this podcast, and lived together, we also lived with Sawyer. Shannon and Sarah went to college together, and Shannon recently directed "Eurydice" (you know...the show just did). On top of being a fantastic performer, director, and artist: Shannon also has some spooky storiez!!! With a mix of true crime AND paranormal, Shannon hits all the sweet spots in this weeks show. GUESTOBERFEST VOL.3 IS HERE!!! We're happy to have our first guest of the 3rd annual Guestoberfest: Josh Hawkins!! Josh brings us the creepy/scary/nightmare inducing Japanese legend of Oiwa. This ghost story is known as Japans most-famous ghost story, spawning numerous Kabuki and stage shows. It's rumored that if you perform the stage show, you MUST go and pay your respects at the grave site...or else Oiwa will haunt you! We have big things planned for the rest of October so be sure to stay tuned!

It's the final week before GUESTOBERFEST!!! Are ya'll excited?? Because we freakin are!!
