In this session we continue to delve into 2 Corinthians 3. In no way was Paul trying to communicate to the believers in Corinth NOT to follow the Torah. He was communicating with them HOW to follow the Torah. Paul is addressing HOW do we minister. Paul is admonishing us to minister by the “spirit”. Ministering in the spirit is the very heart of Torah. But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? 2 Corinthians 3: 7-8 What does it mean to bring glory to yourself vs bring glory to the God of Israel? We are not to bring glory to ourselves. We are to do all things to bring glory to Yeshua. People can be in ministry and be proclaiming the name of Yeshua and there may be a certain glory to it. In the context of 2 Corinthians 3, Paul is speaking on how we minister to others. We are to minister to others through the new covenant, by the spirit, which is the Torah written upon our heart. We are not to minister to others in the “letter”. When we minister to others in the “letter” it is death because we minister in our flesh. We bring glory to ourselves, we have pride and arrogance, we think like a carnal Christian, we think we are in competition/rivalry with someone else’s ministry. Paul is teaching to us in 2 Corinthians 3 how to minister in the spirit, which is all about laying down your life for others, serving others, and loving others. You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men;clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart. 2 Corinthians 3:2-3 We have been studying 2 Corinthians 3 in context and from a Hebraic perspective. What we see is that the subject that Paul is addressing in this chapter is how to minister one to another. He compares and contrasts ministering to one another in the “flesh” (or by the letter) v/s in the spirit. Your life, and how you live your life, is read, known, and seen by others. If the Torah has been written upon our heart, others will see the Torah being lived out in how we live our life and how we treat others. Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say? So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”John 8:3-5, 7 This woman who has committed adultery is a spiritual picture of the exiles of Israel or the House of Jacob. They committed spiritual idolatry/adultery by breaking the marriage covenant at Mt Sinai by committing adultery against their bridegroom, Yeshua/Yahweh. Yeshua is going to die on the tree to forgive them of their sins. He will be offering forgiveness of sins to the entire world if they will repent. We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We all have broken the covenant, we all are adulterous before the God of Israel. Yeshua says to the adulterous woman, “Go

Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Yeshua sais unto her, Give me to drink. Then said the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that you, being a Jew, ask drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? For the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. Yeshua answered and said unto her, If thou knew the gift of God, and who it is that says to thee, Give me to drink; thou would have asked of him, and he would have given you living water. John 4: 6-7, 9-10 In this session, we look at the encounter that Yeshua has with the woman at the well. Eddie gives us some background and context to this. Matthew 8:2-3 In this session, Eddie covers this event from the bible, looking at it from at a deeper sod level: *the healing of the 10 lepers from Luke 17 In looking at this event, we will see how they all teach us about Yeshua’s role to gather and unite the 12 tribes of Israel. Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. John 11:1 In the story of the resurrection of Lazarus from the dead, at the deeper sod level, Lazarus represents the Northern kingdom or the exiles of Israel. Mary represents the attitude of the Jewish people or Judaism, while Martha represents the attitude of Christianity. Lazarus is described as sick. Similarly, the spiritual condition of the exiles of Israel are described as sick: The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them. Ezekiel 34:4 Yeshua is telling us that he is going to seek out these sheep that are sick and strengthen them: I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that w

As the Father knows me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. John 10: 15-16 At the deeper sod level, Yeshua is talking here about two sheepfolds—the sheepfold of Judah and the sheepfold of Ephraim. He is saying here that His ultimate mission in dying on the tree is to gather and unite the 12 tribes of Israel. We also see in the book of Hosea that a union between Hosea and Gomer and the names of their children gives us clues about a prophetic picture of the judgment that God will bring against the Northern Kingdom. And yet, there is hope. Even through the judgment that the Northern Kingdom will go through because of their idolatry, God will keep His covenant that He made with Abraham and their descendants: “Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it sh

And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath. John 5:9 Now it was a Sabbath when Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes. John 9:15 Why does Yeshua heal the lame man and the blind man on the Sabbath? At the deeper sod level, Yeshua was making a statement that when he heals a blind man or a lame man, he removing their blindness to the Torah. He is revealing to them that He is the Messiah and showing them that it is He who will gather and unite the exiles of Israel and return them to the land. This will happen during the time known as Jacob’s trouble or the “Day of the Lord”. How is the seventh day Sabbath associated with the Day of the Lord? Each day of creation represents one thousand years of time: For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, And like a watch in the night. Psalm 90:4 The ingathering of the exiles of Israel is associated with the Day of the Lord. The ingathering of the exiles is also associated with them return

For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob. Isaiah 14:1 In this session Eddie will be looking the lame man who was at the pool of Bethesda. Yeshua literally healed the lame man at the pool of Bethesda. But we will also see, at the deeper sod level, that Yeshua is also teaching us about His role of the Messiah to gather and unite the 12 tribes of Israel. A Hebrew idiom for following the Torah is “walking in his ways.” Being lame then, is a picture of someone who does not follow the Torah. When the lame man is healed and is able to walk, at the deeper sod level, Yeshua was showing Him to follow the Torah. The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. Matthew 11:3 The blind, the lame, the lepers, the deaf, the dead, and the poor, they are all statuses

Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see. Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? Who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD'S servant? Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not. But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore. Who among you will give ear to this? Who will hearken and hear for the time to come?Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? Did not the LORD, He against whom we have sinned? For they WOULD NOT walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his TORAH. Isaiah 42: 18-20 In this session we look at the account in Mark 8:22-26 of the healing of the blind man at Bethsaida. Yeshua literally healed this blind man. But at the sod level, at the deeper meaning of the text, we also see that the Northern Kingdom, the house of Israel is regarded as

“And you shall say unto Pharaoh, Thus says the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn.” Exodus 4:22 Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he a pleasant child? Jer. 31: 20 “And he said, A certain man had two sons…”Luke 15:11 At the deeper sod level, the two sons in the parable of the prodigal son represent the northern and the southern kingdom, Ephraim and Judah. Ephraim, the northern kingdom, has gone off into the world and squandered his inheritance. And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. Riotous living is a reference to harlotry. One of the primary missions of Yeshua in His first and His second coming is to gather and unite the 12 tribes of Israel.
