This method is call “mindful alarm”. These alarms will trigger you to take deep breath and cultivates mindfulness in your busy day. It goes like this. Set alarms on your desktop or your phone 4-6 times a day Know that you’ll stop everything you do and take ten deep breath when the alarm goes off. By doing so, I have found that. I am reminded to take deep breath and be aware of my senses, my breath, and the fact that I am here, now. 10 deep breaths are the space between thoughts. It give me mental breaks. I find that my focus and creativity improve after such simple 2 minutes break. I am training my brain to STOP. By using alarm to trigger me every 2-3 hours. Even now, without the alarms, I will have a thought that says “Have you taken 10 deep breaths yet” Let’s do it. It’s a great tool to step back and be aware in the midst of a work day.
