Many times when things go wrong it triggers an automatic stress response, like anger or disappointment. We are so quick to turn to our emotions, I am guilty of it as well. Recognize that we are reacting to the situation is the first step. Why is it that you are so mad? you may ask yourself. Or just recognize that I am angry right now. Because at that moment you are observing that you are mad, and subconsciously you know that you are not the angry emotion. There are a few things you want to consider before involved yourself on a justifiable emotional train.     Take a deep breath. Deep breaths always help interrupt the pattern and grou

  • Digital Detox

    23/01/2017 Duración: 11min

On today's Mindful Monday we are going to talk about this concept called Digital Detox. I recently enrolled in the six-week-shift program with Scott Riley of the causeway living it’s a accountability group to help me improve in 6 areas of health. One of the task was digital detox. You must be done with all electronics by 10pm or at least 1 hour before bed to go to sleep by 11pm. The same concept I preach if you go back and listen to the 6 steps on how to sleep like a baby. The episode really really helps if you have a sleep problem, you can’t sleep or if you can’t stop thinking. Go check out the previous episode there. The acronym was USLEEP and the U is unplug 1 hour before bed. I know first hand the benefit of unplugging before bed but have been doing it for a period of time last year but have not lately.    I was not being accountable for the first 6 days I didn’t go a day without being able to shutdown for at least 60 minutes before bed and my excuse was I needed to work on the podcast etc. And when I fin

  • Mindfulness and Connection

    02/01/2017 Duración: 07min

Happy New Year !!! It’s 2017! It’s been a fun ride, starting a podcast and learning new things and meeting new people.   Let’s get on with it.    On today’s episode, I want to talk about mindfulness and connection. What does it mean to have more connection?   In today’s society, we live in the age of technology and it’s becoming more and more apparent that many of the tasks are being automated. Whether it’s the automated phone system when you call in for customer services at big companies. Whether it’s self-check out system at the grocery store. To promote efficiency and cost-cutting for the company, but it also cut out the human connection.   To me, mindfulness is a practice, a practice that helps enrich my life.   Allows me to experience the moment fully without the pollution of thoughts and judgments. Allows me to directly connect with the experience. However, many many times slept I fall out of my mindfulness practice. And I noticed that my body start to tense up I notice that I started to have anxiety. W

  • Mindfulness and Gratitude

    26/12/2016 Duración: 09min

Today I want to talk about the concept of mindfulness and gratitude.  The more I learn and practice both, the more I realize that they both go hand in hand. You can’t have mindfulness without gratitude and vice versa. When you are mindful, you are aware of your experience and your state of mind. When you are grateful you are aware of what you have rather than what you don’t have. Therefore, a grateful person is a mindful person.   I just want to acknowledge that 2016 is about to pass. Why does it feel like it’s flying by? Is it because time is actually moving faster? Or are we too caught up in our own busyness to see it?     We live in a society that promte speed, materialism, and consumerism. We are constantly told that we are not enough and we have to fill the emptiness inside with more stuff. We are tricked into being busy just for the sake of being busy.   It’s your life. It’s the only thing that you have. Don’t live by the society’s agenda, don’t live by anyone else’s agenda but yours.   When we are “m

  • The Essence of Work

    19/12/2016 Duración: 08min

Mindful Monday.   Today I am going to talk about “work” and for those of you who are listening to this on the way to their “work” don’t tune me out yet. Please give me a few minutes to explain.    When people associate the word “work”we don't associate it that with pleasure. The word work becomes somewhat dreadful. and Monday sucks and we even have the term Monday blues that means someone is mildly depressed because they have an entire work week in front of them. People say that they “have” to go to work in order to pay the bills right for the money you work for the paycheck you work for the promotion he worked for your new purchase and then that's what we associate work with.   It’s because we forget to look at the true essence of work.    What is the true value of your work? How are your actions or output effecting people and the world?   When you start to ask deeper question and see past the definition of “work” at the superficial level and the feelings that you get when you think of work. You get conn
