As the gospel spread among the Gentiles, there was disagreement as to whether or not they were required to follow all of the Law of Moses. After dramatically healing a crippled man in Lystra, Jews came down from Antioch and Iconium and incited the crowds to turn against Paul. When opposition broke out against them, Paul quotes Isaiah 49:6 and turns his attention towards the Gentiles. Strict Jewish Christians back in Jerusalem criticize Peter for having associated with one such as Cornelius. Peter gives testimony to what God had done and all fell silent and glorified God.
