This week, I sit down with Tena Parker of Success Just Clicks Dog Training. She was referred to me by Alli at Biggies Bullies and I couldn’t be more thankful. It’s a really great episode. We talk about how Tena became a dog trainer and so much more. It’s incredibly interesting. Having a dog of your own is life changing 100%. The bond you immediately have with them is wild. You don’t speak their same language but you learn to coexist in your own way. It’s like solving a living Rubix Cube. If you have a dog, I implore you to do anything you can to make their life more enjoyable. Growing up, I just thought you feed a dog and pet them and take them outside. This week, I had a guest cancel last minute. I know. It’s a bummer but shit happens. Instead of skipping an episode or doing a shitty sounding zoom interview, I’m using this week to talk about life as a new puppy owner. My wife and I rescued a pup a couple weeks ago and ever since, we have been sleeping with one eye opened. As you can probably guess, having a puppy is a massive commitment and hard work and we are both experiencing it for the first time. From crate training, to puppy biting and “teething,” to pet insurance and more. I’m going to talk about my experience (or lack thereof) with it all. It’s been stressful but very exciting to say the least. We are all learning together and things are getting better day by day. Once I get done with new “dog dad” talk, I answer a bunch of random questions that yinz submitted to my ‘questions’ box on my story. Up until about 7 or 8 years ago, I felt like all you would hear during December was “Merry Christmas.” That was the norm. It was in tv and movies, in schools, and in stores. This week, I sit down with Zach Pishney. Zach and I grew up together. I was at his first show ever and I’ve watched him turn into a god damn rockstar before my eyes. Zach is one of the guitarists for Like Moths To Flames. He was my first guest on the podcast, and then he was my 50th guest. The first time Zach and I talked, it was all about growing up in music, driving to go see LMTF, and how he went from being a fan in the audience to becoming a member of the band and ripping on stage with the rest of them.
