25: Talking Agri-tech with Kavaneet Dhami
29/08/2018 Duración: 28minJoining Chris and Leigh-Ann via Zencastr all the way from Ghana, Africa, is Kavaneet Dhami, UPenn alumnus and founder of KDHI Agriculture, an agrotech company working with West African farmers to collect data, teach new techniques and make data-driven decisions to improve yields. As Kavaneet points out, much of the projected population growth over the next 50 years will occur in sub-Saharan Africa. This combined with the fact that approximately 50% of the world's unused, arable land is in Africa - vastly improving yield will be a necessity to feed the next generation. For food news, Leigh-Ann mentions a study by Tetra Pak, a packaging organization, stating that smart packaging technology such as a unique digital code will help boost grocery sales on and offline due to the increased intimacy in how the consumer interacts with your brand.
