HHMI - Paul's Life and Letters ~ Pt 5 ~ Messiah is the Goal, Aim & Target of the Torah
31/01/2019 Duración: 25minAs we examine the content of Paul’s letters, we will answer the question, “In Paul’s letters did he speak for or against the Torah?” Paul taught that we are saved by grace through faith. He then asks the question in Romans 3:31: Do we then make void the Torah through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the Torah . How are we to interpret the verse below? For Christ is the end of the Torah for righteousness to every one that believes. Romans 10:4 Did Yeshua die on the tree so that we could now sin and NOT follow the Torah? The phrase “is the end” in Greek, is “telos” and it means: to make aim, to reach the goal or target. The Torah was given to us as a covenant. We have been covenant breakers and we deserve death for breaking the covenant. The Torah points us to the Messiah. He is our goal and our target. Messiah took the penalty of sin upon Himself so that we could be reconciled to the Father through His shed blood. Paul also teaches us that the Torah is written of the Messiah: And when they had appoin

HHMI - Paul's Life and Letters ~ Pt 4 ~ Olive Tree, Israel, will be Restored
31/01/2019 Duración: 25minPaul explains to us AFTER we are saved by grace through faith, that we are to then follow the written Torah of Yeshua by the indwelling Holy Spirit. Paul, who is talking primarily to a non Jewish audience explains an important Torah principle in 1 Cor 10: 1-4: Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that ALL our fathers were under the cloud, and ALL passed through the sea; And were ALL baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did ALL eat the same spiritual meat; And did ALL drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. What Paul is showing us is a Torah principle, that when the covenant/commands were given at Mt Sinai, that this covenant was made with those who were THERE and with those who were NOT THERE: Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath; But with him that stands here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with him that is NOT HERE with us this day. Deut 29:14-15

HHMI - Paul's Life and Letters ~ Pt 3 ~ Paul Taught that Yeshua is our Righteousness
31/01/2019 Duración: 25minWe cannot trust in our own righteousness or our own good deeds for our salvation. We are to receive Yeshua as our righteousness. We must trust in Yeshua as Messiah and in His shed blood to receive his salvation. We are saved by faith through grace. For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Cor 5:21 When we receive Yeshua as our Messiah we are entering into a marriage covenant that is based upon blood covenant. As part of this covenant, there is an exchange of garments. We exchange our sin for Yeshua’s robe of righteousness. Paul taught that Yeshua is our righteousness in Romans 3:22: Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference. This principle is repeated in Isaiah 61:10: I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a b

HHMI - Paul's Life and Letters ~ Pt 2 ~ On the Road to Damascus....
31/01/2019 Duración: 25minIn the book of Acts, Paul is being accused of not following the Torah and teaching others to not follow the Torah. Is this what he taught and believed? In this study we will examine this question in detail. Initially, Paul persecuted believers in Yeshua who he viewed as heretics of the Torah. In Acts 9:1-2 we see that Paul is involved with persecuting the believers in Yeshua: And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. Acts 9: 1-2 When Paul became a believer in Yeshua as Messiah through a supernatural experience on the road to Damascus (Acts 9). And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven. And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? Acts 9:3-4 Yeshua g

HHMI - Romans ~ Pt 15 ~ What is a "doubtful disputation"?
31/01/2019 Duración: 25minRomans 14:1 is sometimes incorrectly interpreted that we can worship God on any day that we want or we can eat anything that we want. This is not what Paul was teaching. Is celebrating the Sabbath a “doubtful disputation”? What does the bible teach us? You shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD. Leviticus 26: 2 The Sabbath will be kept during the millennial reign of Yeshua: And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, says the LORD. Isaiah 66:23 Yeshua kept the Sabbath: And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. Luke 4:16 Keeping Sabbath and Passover and the biblical feasts is not what Paul is addressing. There is a clear instruction in the scriptures to keep the Sabbath and the feasts of the LORD. What Paul is addressing is how those who are strong in faith are to conduct thems

HHMI - Romans ~ Pt 14 ~ Receiving those who are weak in faith....
31/01/2019 Duración: 25minReceive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things. Romans 14:1 In the KJV, it states: but not to “doubtful disputations”. What is Paul talking about here? For those that are “weak” in faith, we are not to judge their doubtful thoughts or their “doubtful disputations”. We can look some examples of what IS a doubtful disputation and what is NOT a doubtful disputation. Is eating pig a doubtful disputation? Deuteronomy 14:8 explicitly states that swine is unclean. In Mark 5:12-13, Yeshua casts out demons and they go into swine, an unclean animal. So, this is NOT a doubtful disputation that swine is unclean. Paul expands upon this thought about “doubtful disputations” in Romans 14: 2-3: For one believes that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eats herbs. Let not him that eats despise him that eats not; and let not him which eats not judge him that eats: for God hath received him. Romans 14:2-3 We are not to judge someone who eats vegetarian compared to someone else who t

HHMI - Romans ~ Pt 13 ~ Immersed in Messiah
31/01/2019 Duración: 25minIn this session, Eddie shares some thoughts and insights on Romans 13-15. We begin by looking at Romans 13:14: But put you on the Lord Messiah Yeshua, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof. The term “put on” is a reference to a priestly duty/function as we see in 1 Peter 1:9: But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. Paul explains that when we “put on” Messiah we are “immersed” in Messiah. This principle is seen in Galatians 3:27: For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. When we are immersed in Messiah, we are immersed and identified in His death: For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not s

HHMI - Romans ~ Pt 12 ~ The Wild and Natural Branches of the Olive Tree
30/01/2019 Duración: 25minSay unto them, Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in my hand. Ezekiel 37:19 What will be the outcome of this reuniting of Northern Kingdom to Southern Kingdom? Ezekiel 37:24 gives us the answer: And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them. Ezekiel 37:24 Why is the imagery of two sticks used? In Hebrew, the word for stick it “ets” and it means “tree”). In Jeremiah 11 we see that the house of Judah and the house of Israel is likened to an Olive tree: The LORD called your name, A green olive tree, fair, and of goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he has kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken. For the LORD of hosts, that planted you, has pronounced evil against thee, f

HHMI - Romans ~ Pt 11 ~ Background and Hebraic Context for Romans 9-11
30/01/2019 Duración: 25minWe summarize and conclude our study in Romans 6-8. We learned that Yeshua died on the tree, and he paid the penalty of an adulterous woman for breaking the Torah. When we trust in Yeshua for our salvation, and follow His Torah by His Holy Spirit, we enter into a marriage covenant relationship with him, where our righteousness is in Him. In this session, we look at Romans 9-11. We begin with 1 Peter 1:1-2: Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. 1 Peter 1:1-2 Who are these “strangers” that are scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia ad Bithynia? They are the Northern kingdom. There was a marriage that took place between Hosea and Gomer. This marriage was prophetic of the relationship between Yeshua and unfaithfulness

HHMI - Romans ~ Pt 10 ~ Repent and be received into a renewed marriage covenant
30/01/2019 Duración: 25minYeshua, the Lawgiver, entered into a marriage relationship with His bride, the House of Jacob. The ketubah for this marriage is contained in the giving of the Ten Commandments at Mt Sinai. The house of Jacob was unfaithful in their marriage vows. They broke the covenant and did not follow the Torah. They committed spiritual adultery and went after other gods. Because of this He exiled them into the nations, as a form of separation/divorce. However, his love is so great for his bride that He shows the highest form of Torah love by laying down his for her by dying on the tree, offering restoration and reconciliation of the marriage relationship. This is what Paul is explaining in Romans 7:1-4. Yeshua’s death on the tree severs the consequences of the original marriage wherein his wife was unfaithful to Him and she receives the guilt and punishment for her sin. If she repents of her sins she can now be received into a renewed marriage covenant with Yeshua. This involves her dying to self, dying to pride, dying

HHMI - Romans ~ Pt 9 ~ The Resurrected Bride Can Remarry Her Resurrected Bridegroom!
30/01/2019 Duración: 25minWherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. Romans 7:4 Mainstream Christianity has misunderstood this verse to mean that we are not supposed to follow the Torah of Yeshua. We will take a look at this verse in its Hebraic context to see what Paul was really saying. Paul makes a comparison to marriage between a man and a woman, and explains that as long as the spouse is alive the marriage vow stands, but once a spouse dies, the other is permitted to remarry. He then connects this thought to Romans 7:4, and applies this thought to our relationship with Yeshua, which is likened to a marriage relationship. We are dead to the original marriage vows… which we broke. This happened at the giving of the Torah at Mt Sinai and the golden calf incident). We are reckoned to be dead to the consequences of the marriage vows that we broke at Mt Sinai. So, when we

HHMI - Romans ~ Pt 8 ~ Law of the Spirit v/s Law of Sin and Death
30/01/2019 Duración: 25minFor the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the Torah could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the Torah might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:2-4 The righteousness of the Torah can be fulfilled in us, when we die to our flesh, identify in Yeshua’s death, and then we come alive to God in Messiah Yeshua and follow His Torah by the Spirit of God. What is walking after the flesh? Romans 8:7 tells us: Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. What is walking after the spirit? Romans 8: 9-11 tells us: But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is d

HHMI - Romans ~ Pt 7 ~ Dead to sin, Alive to Messiah Yeshua
30/01/2019 Duración: 25minIn this session, Eddie does a detailed analysis of Romans Chapter 6. There is a misunderstood verse in this chapter that traditional Christianity will use to try to say that we are not to follow the Torah: For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace. Romans 6:14 We will look at this chapter from a Hebraic perspective so we can understand the point that Paul is making. We will see that Paul is making a spiritual analogy and a spiritual comparison. He compares the literal death of Yeshua to our own spiritual walk: In this spiritual analogy, Paul is equating being immersed in Messiah with being immersed or identifies with his death. Know you not, that so many of us as were baptized into Yeshua were baptized into his death? Romans 6:3 In the next verse, Paul shows us that as we are identified in Yeshua’s death, then spiritually we are to walk in His resurrection: Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the

HHMI - Romans ~ Pt 6 ~ Circumcision in the flesh v/s Circumcision in the heart
30/01/2019 Duración: 25minIn this session, we will look at what Paul is explaining to us in Romans 2. Paul is comparing two groups of people: *Those who are non Jews, who are NOT circumcised in flesh, but who DO follow the Torah because they are circumcised in their heart v/s *Those are Jews, who are circumcised in the flesh, but who DONT following the Torah because they are NOT circumcised in their heart. We are to follow the Torah with a circumcised heart. The Torah requires that we have a circumcised heart: And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul… Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked. Deut 10: 12, 16 Both the Torah and the Prophets call for the people of Israel to be circumcised in their hearts: Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fur

HHMI - Romans ~ Pt 5 ~ The Carnal Mind Does NOT Follow the Torah!
30/01/2019 Duración: 25minIn traditional Christianity, it is taught that you either have faith and follow Yeshua (and His Holy Spirit) OR you follow the Torah. This is framing the matter incorrectly. It is taught that following the Torah is bondage. In fact, we are saved by grace through faith and then AFTER we are saved by grace through faith we are to follow the Torah of Yeshua by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Paul asks this very question, that after coming to faith in Messiah, do we no longer follow the Torah? Do we then make void the Torah through faith? Romans 3:31 He then answers his own question, in the rest of the verse: God forbid: yea, we establish the Torah. Romans 3:31 In 1 John 3:4, we have a bible definition of sin: Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the Torah: for sin is the transgression of the Torah. 1 John 3:4 When we transgress the Torah, we are being carnal and we are sold unto sin. The problem is not with the Torah. The problem is with me, with my sin nature and with my flesh. Because the ca

HHMI - Romans ~ Pt 4 ~ Where Does Our Righteousness Come From?
30/01/2019 Duración: 25minPaul continues to share with us about understanding God’s righteousness and how we access that righteousness in Romans 10: Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. Romans 10: 1-3 Abraham gives us the Torah example; he believed God’s promise in faith and it was credited to him for righteousness (Galatians 3:6). We see this principle in these verses from Romans: But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:21-23 Our righteousness does not come from ourselves,

HHMI - Romans ~ Pt 3 ~ The Righteousness and Salvation of God is for both Jew and Non Jew
30/01/2019 Duración: 25minPaul takes the Torah principle of how God’s righteousness works, and he used Abraham as our example, and he is going to apply this principle to how we receive Yeshua for our salvation. We do this by faith, through grace, and then righteousness is imputed to us. And therefore it was imputed to him (Abraham) for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Yeshua our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. Romans 4: 22-25 The righteousness of God by faith believes with the heart: That if you shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10 Paul is using the Torah and the Prophets as the basis for what he is teaching in

HHMI - Romans ~ Pt 2 ~ What the Torah Teaches About Righteousness
30/01/2019 Duración: 25minThe righteousness of God is believing His covenant promises to us. We see this faith working in Abraham: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Romans 4:20-22 Righteousness is having faith or TRUSTING in the LORD: Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. Psalm 4:5 We are to trust in the LORD’s righteousness: In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline your ear unto me, and save me. Psalm 71: 1-2 Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE

HHMI - Romans ~ Pt 1 ~ Is Paul for or against Torah?
30/01/2019 Duración: 25minIn this study, we will be looking at the book of Romans from a Hebraic perspective. We will begin with looking at Romans 1:17. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. We will be linking this verse to Romans 2 through 4 and see what the Torah and the Prophets teach us about the righteousness of God and what God requires of us. Ultimately, we will see that the Torah (the Hebrew Scriptures) and Prophets teach us this principle: that we are saved by grace through faith. This is not a NEW concept from the New Testament. We also will be looking at some commonly misunderstood passages in Romans and look at them from a Hebraic view including: *Romans 7:1-4 *Romans 9, 10, 11 *Romans 14 Is Paul for against the Torah? How can we explain Romans from a Hebraic perspective? Eddie will unravel the mystery in this powerful, fascinating, insightful, comprehensive and well researched study. HHMI - How to Be the Bride ~ Pt 4 ~ Messiah Yeshua is the Goal, & the Target of the Torah
30/01/2019 Duración: 25minAfter we are saved by grace through faith, are we not to follow the Torah? Traditional Christianity teaches that we then follow Yeshua and His Holy Spirit and we do NOT follow the Torah. What does Paul have to say about this? He asks the question and then answers his own question: Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the Torah. Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the Torah. Romans 3: 28, 31 Messiah is the goal, aim and the Target that the Torah points us to: For Christ is the end of the Torah for righteousness to every one that believes. Romans 10:4 The Torah points you to the NEED for Messiah Yeshua. A disciple of Yeshua will walk as He walked. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereof: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7: 14-15 Following Yeshua dow
